KISS STORY PART I [OPEN]
WHO: Dionysus and OPEN [to everyone except for Woden]
WHERE: NOT TELLINGMaurtia Falls
WHEN: from Jan 23rd to (???)
WHAT: A BIG OL' PARTY, which is a "secret" but literally any PC is invited except Woden, just pretend they got a personal invite from Dio.
WARNINGS: References to party drug use, probably swearing
Dionysus hasn't posted on Bwitter in a week.
However, at 4:20pm exactly (because it's a good joke), the invitation comes in the form of a private message on some form of social media. It's a bit generic, like it was sent en masse, and gives a few rules:

He specifically doesn't give an address other than Maurtia Falls, in one of the few districts NOT known for it's parties- the directions are step-by-step and based on visual queues. Turn left down Sea street, look for the red building-
It almost feels like a reward in itself, finding this place.
The directions lead to a nondescript building with no windows. The only indication that it's the right place is a neon sign in the shape of grapes above a metal door. Going through the metal door leads to a flight of stairs descending at least a floor, to another door.
It's underground alright. Metaphorically, and literally.
He knows if Woden's given the opportunity to show up, he will. Best to not even give him the chance, and keep things small. That is, if a basement with about forty other people in it is small.
And there's Dionysus, right by the front door, smiling. Oh yeah, and his eyes are entirely pitch black. Don't worry, that's normal. It's also normal, for the forty-something other people behind him, dancing and singing and moving to absolutely no music. There's lights, but it's minimal, nothing like what you'd expect for a rave. No lights and no music. What gives, right?
"Hey, glad you could make it."
He holds up a hand.
"Entrance fee's a high five. Yeah, I know, sounds lame, but that's how it works."
And, should you choose to high five the God at the club door, suddenly things look a lot different. There's color, there's sound, there's happiness, and energy and light. Everything feels like it's made of stars. Even those in the most dour of moods can find a means of smiling.
...It's like being on drugs.
But keep an eye on the clock if you've got work tomorrow. Time feels like it passes differently here. Slower, but also faster. What feels like a few hours, might be a few days. Not that you're trapped, but you just simply lost track of time.

Awkward OPEN
Or someone else.
David may have been old, but he looked the part of someone washed up and at least comfortable with the scene. He had a pen, and paper, a recording device, all clasped in one hand, the other in his pocket when he arrived. Jeans, t-shirt, black leather jacket. He looked... not entirely out of place, simply... like someone had overstayed their welcome a bit in the scene -- and he knew it. He even rubbed at his head, awkwardly, his fingers brushed through graying strands, and he smiled, when he entered.
"Is that how it really works? If we get a chance...I'd love to --" he asked, his voice mostly tinged with amusement when he said it, ever the part of the academic, although he did reach up and give him a high-five, his words stopped in the middle.
That was enough, right?
Mind, he didn't dance, didn't sing, didn't indulge in any drugs -- although there was an occasional pint in hand. He watched, although the smile on his face looked like he was merrily doped, watching all of it. He just wasn't a big actor, didn't like making scenes. Supposedly. For someone who often talked too much, he didn't approach, but instead looked solidly out of place -- although he was certainly friendly when others came by.
And if his eyes drifted... it was a party. At least he wasn't one of those creeps trying to touch anyone out on the dance floor.

"Love to what? Oh, and just give it a minute. Sometimes it takes people a minute."
For it to kick in.
"Interview, is that what you mean?" Since recording device and all.

Kyle Conlen
[ Excuse you, high-fives are not lame. But Kyle is his own kind of lame, so maybe they are. Either way, he slaps the hell out of Dionysus' hand and isn't sorry for the party that erupts around him. He's come with Persephone, but he doesn't feel the need to stick so close by her anymore. His anxiety is gone, and the colors popping over his skin and across the club leave him much more adventurous than he ever would be sober.
It's not hard to find him if you look. He's in the mob of people dancing like no one's watching. And hopefully no one is, because he is so not great at it. But that's the beauty of this high, yeah? Kyle doesn't care. Get in his field of view and he's likely to pull you in, boy or girl, for a new dancing partner. ]
CLOSED to Persephone
[ It's been too long since Persephone and he had spent time together. This rave(??)'s the perfect opportunity to reconnect with her—something Kyle has legitimately missed. He's sure most people would wonder WHY??, but he enjoys Persephone's company. She's been one of the first friends he'd made in this bizarre fifties America, and Kyle regrets not one minute of it.
So when Persephone slips through the throng of dancers, Kyle wraps a big arm around her waist before she can pass by. ]
Hey!

[ She laughs when he catches her. It's not her normal dry half-snort either, but almost mirthful. She backs up against him to start grinding. ]

It's a little bit of work to keep the party going, but this kind of crowd is a lot more manageable than his usual bout, and so he can let his focus wander for a few minutes.]
So does this explain things a little better?
[He knows it's a little hard to explain miracles and communion like this, easier to just do it.]
no subject
Persephone's been . . . surprisingly helpful, for Persephone. Helped him scout the place, if he'd let her, but also gave him her security contacts, which were well-vetted and reliable. Then she got the hell out of his way, so he could do . . . whatever it was he needed to do to get ready for the communion.
But she's back as early as is remotely polite, and has a big wooden crate hefted over one shoulder. There is a big black bow on it, and the contents seems to both slosh and jangle.
"Got you something."
She looks at his offered hand for a long moment, before laying down a flawless awkward turkey.
B. For all CR that she repeatedly texted for days on end insisting they come
Persephone beelines to her friends as soon as she sees them, which is . . . atypical, to say the least. The smile on her face is wide and relaxed in a way she never is, even at the rest of the Pantheon's gigs. She sways easily to the music only she can hear, not bothering to hide just how fucking great it feels to be here, to be a part of the party.
"You're here. Here. Heeere you are. Did you touch him? Can you feel it?"
C. OTA
As long as you are not above the age of 35 (or you have amazing hair), there is a unusually-smiley goddess dancing right up into your space. She glows the same as anyone else here, a little brighter, maybe, but this is Dio's party. She's just an attendee. Her consciousness glitters cross the hive mind- this is good, this is beautiful, this is worthwhile, this matter, he matters, you matter.
"Dance with me?" She says, already swaying her way into someone else's personal bubble.

A !!
Having help was nice. Having ... a friend in this, was really nice.
Awkward turkey or not, he's got a grin on his face he can't possibly stop right now.
"A present too?"
Re: A !!
Adam Parrish | Open
Adam shows up with his friends--or his entourage, depending on how you look at it. He's a recognizable public figure now. His face has been on posters and magazine covers advertising the opening of the brand new moon base.
In person, he's an slender teenage boy with muddy brown hair, unexceptional and easy to overlook even in the designer clubwear he's sporting.
He doesn't know the host personally, but he and his boyfriends got invites, and Adam's been needing a party where he can blow off a little steam and drop the diplomat persona for a few hours.
High-fiving the host (bouncer?) at the door, Adam grins as the whole room lights up with magic or holograms. "Thanks."
Dance Floor
Adam's never had the opportunity to learn club dancing before, but he's been taking ballroom dancing lessons lately, so he's learned a little more about how to move his body. He can be found dancing with any of his boyfriends--or girlfriend--who came with him to the party, but the influence of the party's magic leaves him friendly and grinning for anyone else who wants to dance.
Ronan Lynch | Open
The high he got off that initial contact with the host also has him looking more friendly than usual, a smile on his face as he drifts through the party with no particular destination in mind. When he's on the dancefloor, he's killing it, and when he isn't, he's pounding down drinks with seemingly impossible tolerance.

"Hey bro! You need that freshened up?" Reggie finger-gun points to Ronan's cup as he approaches, giving Ronan a casual but slow lookover at the same time; in Reggie-speak, "freshen up" of course means "add even more alcohol to it" these days, but instead of touching Ronan's drink (yet), Reggie reaches out to squeeze Ronan's bicep appreciatively-- since the mood of the night is friendly.
"Glad to see you've still been keeping it tight. So many people always seem to use winter as an excuse to start slacking off," he adds, with a disapproving shake of his head as he sips from his own drink cup. Then, gesturing to Ronan's tattoo: "You really oughta show off that thing more often, though. It's pretty bad-ass."

betty cooper - open to all
This was the Betty Cooper who'd recently been deeply entangled in some of her hometown's darkest secrets. This was the Betty Cooper who was dating a boy who was dating several boys who were also dating several boys and a girl. She looks the part, her outfit was carefully picked and her makeup was beautifully put on because Betty never half-asses anything.
She'll probably look a little overwhelmed at first, after giving the God a high five and the room transforming completely. Betty has never been high before but she suspects this is what it feels like. And for the first time since she's come back, smiling becomes completely simple. She grins at everything, her hands may reach out to touch and she will have no qualms about saying:]
You look amazing.
[ And then she will dance. She will let go of everything, all her anxiety, all of her pain and just let herself move to the music. Or she'll be looking for water or something else to drink after dancing her heart out.]
no subject
Although he's normally quite well-groomed -- his perfect hair is (or if not, it should be) legendary -- Reggie's club attire is very faux-casual, the lack of shirt and bangs hanging messily in his face distracting from the fact his jacket, pants, sunglasses, and shoes are all still designer items. Style is important, after all-- even or especially for clubs.
Betty's compliment gets him to turn his head, and he peers at her for a moment over his sunglasses as colors flash and spin and burst into existence around them. ]
I know-- I always do. And you look... [ There's a pause so he can actually take in her whole Look™ and process that it's Betty Cooper that he's looking at right now, because she is almost unrecognizable from the image of her he tends to carry in his mind. ] Wait, Betty? Is that really you?
[ He grins broadly in surprise and approval, but mostly because being high and euphoric makes friendly or familiar faces all the more welcome. ]
You wanna dance?

Magnus Chase OTA
[while the alien eyes and the mad looking group of people behind Dio isn't particularly comforting, his smile is, and a high-five later, Magnus, like everyone else, is gasping like a fish on the deck at the colours and sounds that erupt around him. he's a little more colourful than usual, himself; a darkly ironic top (probably to make Persephone laugh), some battered looking jean shorts borrowed last minute, and green converse. and just as colour and sound explodes externally, there's a happiness that erupts in him, that catches him entirely off-guard. it feels like summer neverending; it feels like lifting your face up into the wind, it feels like freedom and togetherness and fullness and love. it's a lot to process for empty-cup Magnus, and even as he smiles to himself, delighted with the party-goers around him, there's a scary kind of fragility to that feeling that has him wrapping his arms around himself, avoiding contact, shying to the side of the dancefloor]
[he's not particularly inconspicuous, despite his withdrawn posture, his avoidance of the grinding asses around him; it feels like the pulse of the music is echoing in him, drawing his summer seidr to the surface in pulses of electric-golden light, that illuminates his hair hair and grey eyes. who wants to dance with the world's shyest walking glowstick?]
B. BREAK THE DANCE
[as he found out at Persephone's concert (to much more disastrous ends), his own semi-divinity does something to the sauce. after loosening up, getting used to the vibe of the party and letting it overtake him, Magnus very quickly hasn't been able to keep track of a few things; his seidr still flares around him, a sunspot that occasionally disappears into the bathroom or in the crowd (though the aura of Frey is one that melts into the press of Dio all around them; peace is peace is peace). he's also lost major, major track of time, and has been here a while; by now, he's also lost his top, loose tank underneath a bit damp with sweat and water flicked over the crowd. from the cotton on his clavicles and across his shoulderblades, seedlings have started to sprout (unsure indicators of time in themselves)]
[just how long has Magnus been in here? he has no idea, doesn't seem perturbed by the thought; even as he stumbles a bit into the person next to him, somewhat dehydrated and woozy on his feet (it's been long enough that even demigod endurance is staring to flag, apparently)]
Sorry. Do you know where the water cooler's at...? -- Oh, man! [sorry, the song just got really good. Magnus laughs, lightheaded]
break the dance
When Magnus distracts himself from his own question, Adam reaches out and puts a hand on his arm to keep him from leaving. He knows Magnus doesn't like being touched, but making sure his friend is safe is a higher priority. Even if he's still confused about them being friends at all.
He latches on to Magnus' energy, soothing and steadying the flow of his magic in order to calm him.] I think it's over here.

jesse pinkman, ota, cw for drugs and jesse being jesse
So, here he is, shirtless save for his hologram jacket, tight pants and boots with glowing laces, and glowing rave glasses. And, oh man, is he glad he high-fived that guy at the door who'd greeted him, because it's just like being on drugs in this place. Surreal, ethereal neon lights, pounding music, blissful happiness soaring through him, time losing all meaning, like he's rolling on molly. Perfect for an addict desperate to get high when getting high is far out of reach.
He dances among the crowds, pressing himself up against women who welcome him close. Inhibitions lost in the happiness of the club's drug-like effect, he dances up close to guys, too. He'll slip away regularly for a cigarette or several, offering cigarettes to anyone wanting a smoke, or rolling joints for anyone who might ask if he's got any pot on him. (He does; a whole ounce in his pocket.) If there is a bar, Jesse shouts rounds of drinks for anybody and everybody, tossing wads of cash in tips at the bartender. If there are drugs going around, Jesse doesn't take any, but he won't stop others from taking whatever they want to take; if it's someone's first time with drugs, he will stay with them and reassure them. He'll slip away somewhere more private, too, with anyone looking to get intimate (ooc: only if they're 18 or over!!), because that's exactly what he's looking for himself. He's shameless, sweet, wicked, adoring to anyone who is the focus of his attention in that moment. He parties like he's the life of the party.
Jesse seems to have limitless energy, and he does - he regenerates fast, requiring no sleep or rest. If people are exhausted and need some rejuvenation to keep raving, Jesse can revitalise people with a healing kiss if they ask him to, slow and deep, or heated and intense. If anybody winds up blackout drunk or sick from all the partying, or drugged up out of their mind to the point of needing assistance, Jesse can heal them, too, with a kiss, so they will feel refreshed and renewed. ]
no subject
[Adam steps close to Jesse with a grin in greeting. Their interactions so far have been wildly different, and Adam has no idea where they stand, really, but right now he's high on freedom and the magic of the place, and possibly real drugs as well--he's not sure, can't tell, and yes, he might have eaten a piece of candy someone gave him--so he steps in close once he recognizes Jesse, pulling him in by his lapels.]

Gansey | OTA
It's an odd entrance fee, but Gansey does high-five the person at the front.
He's never experienced such intense euphoria before--he's tried weed a couple of times but this doesn't compare. His usual reservations with dancing are gone, and naturally being the social butterfly that he is, he comes up to you and starts to dance, brilliant smile on his face.]
no subject
[ The only Meadow guy he hasn't seen yet is Noah, but the night is young. And as such, he pulls Gansey into his personal space to dance. ]
Also, who is dressing you all? not that I'm complaining or anything...
[ Persephone had to do a little shopping with him, because all he owns are khakis and polos as well. Apparently that isn't okay for a rave. ]

REGGIE MANTLE | ota
Like many other people here tonight, the combination of parties and drugs (or a high like that of drugs) has Reggie feeling a bit more friendly than usual, although for him a certain type of friendliness can still come to him fairly easily while sober, too. So can a certain kind of petty type of nastiness, though, but when he's high or drunk mostly he's too focused on having fun than to be a dick. He's enjoying the trippiness without even questioning it, alternating dancing with drinking to reaching out for people he can hang off of for at least a song or two. He can be a little handsy when intoxicated, but even if he's barely told anyone that he has a boyfriend yet, he knows better than to go too far.
Which, given who he is and how many people here tonight that he's either hit on or fooled around with before, might actually show his hand a bit, but Reggie's too euphoric to consider that or care; if he's not simply finding someone -- anyone -- to start dancing with, then he's probably dancing in place on his own while messily drinking something he's trying not to spill further, which he might also hold out to someone passing by and ask: ]

zoe hange and OPEN
While she's partied hard before, this is really not her scene. Everyone's so young and so... flashy. Hange is clean (this is good, because it's not always the case) but she's not made-up and she's underdressed.
Still, she slips through the crowd and dances with ease. She's tallish and lean with broad shoulders and if you like that look, there's something attractive in the glitter of her eyes and her wolfish smile. She laughs easily and chats easily. She often has a drink in hand.
And in that weird untime, she can eventually be seen making for the door, an empty bottle still in hand, a slight smile on her face like she put it there and forgot it. Party fatigue.

He greets her as she comes down the stairs, the customary high-five, and he adds on- "Hey! Thanks for coming! I know I haven't been around the house a lot- been setting up for this."
