1. Please explain your modern musics
[ Because Galla certainly does not understand. As part of her attempts to adapt to this new world, she's paid a visit to a local record store to investigate the musical trends—a fine insight into a new culture. She's found a bank of headphones with the hottest tracks queued up to sample and has been standing there for well over an hour now, working her way through the different genres with varied reactions. At the moment she's listening to an especially patriotic country song, mouth twisted in a smile caught somewhere between bemusement and confusion. ]
How many anthems does this country need?
2. Spring...is in the air???
[ At least it is in the corner of one of the parks in Maurtia Falls. Galla's decided to do a little reading outside today. She's also decided to enhance her surroundings a little. At first the grass around the bench she's sitting on just looks a brighter green, and there's a few more wildflowers scattered around. And, as the minutes tick past, there are more flowers sprouting around her. Bright and vibrants wildflowers overtake the grass, growing into lush mounds of greenery until only a path from the bench to the trail it's place near is left clear and grassy. ]
Much better.

Which probably signals that she wants something.]
Hello! I'm Alison Hendrix and I couldn't help noticing the, ah... lovely display you've created here!

Well met, Alison. I am Galla, and I suppose I was just a little bored by the plain grass.

[The last bit has a genuine note to it, as Alison can appreciate a well-balanced flower garden design.]

[ In strategic rates and areas, but the point remained as far as she was concerned. She couldn't choose what flowers grew; only that flowers should grow. ]

Well, they're certainly an adjustment when it's something you're not used to.

He stares at her for a moment because was that question actually directed at him??? But eventually digs his hands in his pockets and gives her a little smile.]
I think there's only the one, but a lot of people are very proud of this country, and they're pretty loud about it.
So they write a whole bunch of songs that are similar. Pretty wierd, right?
[America, am I right? He kinda likes it tho, and smiles fairly warmly at the thought. To have passion like that...]

[ Maybe that was just a side effect of the size this country had grown to? She couldn't imagine what Hydra might be like if their population had grown as large as the US's was. ]
It's an interesting style of music though. Closer to the folk songs I'm accustomed to.

Later, heading in the opposite direction, the bench is no longer empty.
Also: what the heck.
He walks past, but only makes it about a yard before he stops and backs up, pushing blocky sunglasses up to the top of his head. ]
Am I hallucinating?
no subject
Only if you're seeing anything other than a lovely new growth of flowers.
numero uno, hope you don't mind another thread so soon!
Hey, 'sup. Sorry, what? Anthems?
of course not!
Anthems, yes. I'm not sure what else to call songs about how great a country is. [ She motions to a list of songs available at the headphone station she's at: a selection of patriotic songs mixed with country music's take on breakups and party songs. ]
hurrah!
That's country music, yo. The kinda crap rednecks and bible bashers listen to.

[ She turns another look on him, more curious than unsure this time. ]
What sort of music do you prefer?

no subject
Maybe not, but I won't know what I like or dislike in this world until I experience it. But if you'd rather not share, that's quite alright.
no subject
Hip-hop and rap, mostly. EDM, dubstep, y'know, stuff old people hate. Um— ah, I mean, not that you're old, I mean like...
[ Jesse trails off because... she totally is old, and he's totally put his foot in it. ]

He'd been hoping for a barren but picturesque pond with a nearby bench, or some good people-watching. Ducks, if he was lucky. Not a swathe of jewel-studded greenery that wouldn't look out of place on one of the more pastoral planets Shiro's been on.
There's a little bit of Arus in Maurtia Falls, after all.]
Whoa. That's...that's incredible.
no subject
No more amazing than the other abilities that my fellow imPorts have, but I do agree it does create quite a view.

[ Pidge would love this, he thinks with a pang. If his fellow paladin were here, she'd be bubbling over with questions about how this woman's power works, whether it can be compared to Olkari bio-engineering. Maybe that's why he breaks free of his usual reticence to offer: ]
I have a friend back home who can do something similar, but she has to wear a headband. Something about using neural impulses to send binary commands? I couldn't really follow the details.
no subject
I don't know about impulses or what binary is, but...I don't think they have anything to do with my power. [ Probably?? ] I simply ask the plants or creatures to grow as I wish, and they do.
no subject
You can make animals grow as well?
[ That's...impressive and unsettling, in a way the plants aren't. Though there are almost certainly sentient alien plants out there that Shiro hasn't met yet, or has and never realized, so maybe he's being closed-minded. ]
no subject
[ She marks her place in the book and closes it, turning her full attention on him now. ]
I can only will insects to grow in number, but I am able to use this same power to...shall we say, encourage an animal or person's body to heal more quickly.
