And we join us now this night in hope, hope for a brand new day!

As he steps out of the limo, and holds out a hand to her, he smiles at Wanda, his eyes dancing with warmth and hope, and anticipation. The night is beautiful, neither freezing, nor raining, but with a clear sky. An unseasonable warmth grips this area and Bruce is not sure how, but he is glad for it. It makes this perfect. He smiles at Wanda, as he looks at the center ahead of them, where they first met, here in this world. And where it all began for them. "I wanted to do something special. Make it a special night." He grins again and looks around, heart pounding. He is ready for this, and his inner pocket, the one next to his shirt, holds the proof. Here went everything.

They both probably needed this, after the month December had proved to be. "I'm excited for it." Whatever it is. She still has her hand in his, and smiles back at him. Yep, definitely going to be a nice, relaxing, fun night ahead.

He smiles as he leads the way inside to the elevator. "We met just through those doors." As they wait for the elevator, he points to the ballroom and the balcony beyond. Then spent hours talking. I knew that night that I liked you."

He nods.

[divaricate]

"When I was already a quarter of the way to drunk, and broke my shoes." She nods with a short, quiet laugh. "It was a fun night, though, yeah. I liked you too." It was hard not to, with their long, and amusing conversations then.

"Yes!" He chuckles, and hip bumps her gently. The elevator opens and he steps in with her and smiles. He pulls out a blindfold and holds it out to her. "Trust me?"

[divaricate]

"Implicitly." She says, taking the blindfold and putting it on. "Are we going all the way up or some of the way up?" Just curious.

"All the way up, love. I've got a surprise for you."

He smiles and gently takes her shoulders, standing behind her, and as the doors open, he guides her out to just the right spot. Then he pulls the blindfold gently from her. "Welcome to our date, Wanda."

The roof, sheltered on two sides by high maintenance walls, had no electric lights on, nor did the nearby buildings. Instead, the roof was lit with candles, and around them were red and purple flowers of many kinds.

A single table was set up in the middle with a sign next to it, saying simply; "I wish I had met you sooner, so I could love you longer.". The table itself was decorated with candles, flowers, and a white tablecloth. At each place was a silver dome and silverware.

"It's really pretty." she says with a soft smile, looking out at everything. "Thanks for setting it up." She's never had this elaborate of a date before; not many chances for that in her world, and not here for different reasons until now.

"A pretty date for a pretty woman. I admit, I had help. There is a company that helps with things like this for clueless men like me."

He leads her to the table and holds her chair out for her. Once she is seated, he settles opposite her.

[divaricate]

"You're many things, and clueless isn't one of them." She tilts her head slightly while looking across the table at him, her smile reaching her eyes too now.

"Well, about some things, I am." as he grins at her and reaches for one of her hands to squeeze it, then nods. "Our meals tonight are Tapas," he says as he lifts the domes to reveal the multiple foods under them.

"Have you ever had it?"

[divaricate]

"Not that I can remember, but they look really good." She can already tell she is going to eat too much and regret none of it. She gives his hand a quick squeeze back.

He tells her about each thing, having only learned it a few weeks before and already liking it a lot. "Then dig in, madame. The wine is tasty, and the food is nice. And I do love the company." he grins at her.

"The company is my favorite part, I admit." She starts eating the delicious food. Which tastes even better than it looks -- and it looks pretty delicious as it is.

He eats as well, smiling at her and enjoying himself as they sit together. After a bit, enjoying her company and the food, he smiles. "I have another surprise for you." he rises, then slides down to one knee before her. "Wanda, since I arrived on this Earth, it's been a crazy ride, but one thing has made it better than anything else. You. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, and you have shown me new ways to live, and new ways to love. And I want to spend as long as life and the porter will allow with you at my side, loving you and having you as my partner." he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the geode, carefully parting it to reveal the ring inside, and as he did so, a sign behind him lit up, even as he spoke, echoing his words in lights. "Will you marry me?"

She's definitely surprised -- but very much pleasantly so. If the wide smile across her lips and shine in her eyes is anything to go by. Until, a second later, that she remembers, oh yeah she should probably make sounds come out of her mouth. "Of course I will." Accompanied with an eager nod and meeting his lips with hers. "I love you so much. You make me happier than, well, anyone." She laughs slightly.

He lifted the ring to slide onto her finger and kissed her, and smiled as he rose, and hugged her tight. "I was hoping you would. And you make me happy too." He laughed aloud for joy and hugged her and kissed her again.

She's happy to stand there in silence for a moment, her arms wrapped around him and her lips back on his, a smile on her lips as well. For once, she's easily able to ignore the sounds of anything else she may be picking up on, and it feels like actual silence. She can't say she often experiences that one.

"Have I mentioned how much I love you?" He kisses her again and smiles softly. "When we are done with our meal, perhaps we should go home and celebrate."

[divaricate]

"Maybe once or twice, I think." She laughs softly and kisses him back. She brushes her nose lightly against his after their lips part again. "I love you too." She's pretty sure she's the luckiest person here.

"That sounds like a great idea."

[monsterdoc]

"Good. I like saying it." He smiles and feels his heart lift. When he is with her, everything else seems to fade away. "Good. I'm glad you like it."

[divaricate]

"Good, because I like saying it back, and hearing it. And anyway, I also like any idea that involves us and spending time together. Do you have any ways in mind?"

[monsterdoc]

"Oh swimming, watching television, making love all night long. Some combination of those..." He grins at her and kisses her again.

[divaricate]

"Swimming's always good. I don't know how much attention I could pay to a television when I could be paying attention to far more interesting things. Like you. And us minus clothes. And possibly after that, baking something easy like muffins for breakfast tomorrow because reasons." Reasons of probably wanting to be lazy the next day.
