Atrium and Registration
The arrivals deck of the moon base is a contained dome without exterior windows. It’s been decorated for the grand opening and there are several stalls offering drinks, maps, and information, but the arrivals deck still has the atmosphere of an airport, and there’s some of the security of that, too. Government officials will be strict about what can and cannot be brought into the Moon Base. No flammable items, no projectile weapons of any kind, and severe limitations on piercing weapons (swords or spears). If you’re carrying a box of matches or a weapon, you may have to have a lengthy conversation with the security officials as to whether you’ll have to leave the item in the arrivals deck or if an exception can be made for you.
The registration table near the door allows for the usual new import swearing-in, but it also allows for applications for moon residency. The government is aware that many imports are already interested in living and working at the base on a more permanent basis. The base has the capability to grow into a township and eventually into a moon city, but for now space—and residency—is limited.
Also available from the arrivals deck are the moonwalk tours. You can choose between a clunky and difficult space suit or a clear plastic "hamster ball" to enjoy a tour of the rugged space landscape outside under the supervision of trained guides.


Residential Dome
From the arrivals deck, halls branch off to the various habitable bubbles of the moon base. The largest of these is the residential dome. There are several hotels, since this is built to be a tourist destination, and there are apartments here for the workers maintaining the base, and a few restaurants and bars available, but most of the focus will be on the festival set up in the park.
The park is a rectangle of grassy lawn on the upper most level of the residential dome, under a broad glass ceiling that gives a view up at the stars and the earth. There are benches and tiled alcoves with mosaics depicting different mythologies about the moon from a variety of cultures, and an array of booths set up around the perimeter of the park serving food and drinks.
Many of the shops offer Moon Fashion which is about as ridiculous and varied as you can imagine, offering plenty of retro sci-fi fashions from absurd to weird to elegant.
On one of the lower floors of the dome is a huge room designated as a permanent bouncy castle. The walls and ceiling of the room are all covered in inflatable pads. There are warnings everywhere around the residential dome to not jump because you weigh about a sixth of your Earth weight and you won’t have the reflexes you need to control your jump. Fortunately, here in the bouncy castle, you can jump all you like! Still, please be careful. The ceiling is twenty feet up, and you’ll easily be able to crash into it if you try.


Research Dome
The International Moon Research Base has a strong focus on research and education, and one of the habitation domes is set up for that purpose. The research dome contains labs and research facilities, set up for the Swear-In with demonstrations and fun chemistry experiments that people can take part in, an international research library with scientific texts in half a dozen languages, and a lecture hall where classes will be going on throughout the day on how the moon base’s life support systems work, classes about the environment and geology of the moon—why breathing moon dust will kill you! the two hundred-degree temperature shift between day and night on the moon’s surface! explosive decompression and you!—along with more theoretical classes about further space exploration by using this base as a launching point for the universe.


Embassy Dome
The Embassy dome is by far the most expensive and elegant of the domes, and after tonight it will have more restricted access and be used by multiple governments as an international embassy space. But today it’s reserved for the exclusive enjoyment of the imPort community. There is an Earth-Viewing Deck, an elegant lounge with a huge viewing window of the earth which provides a quieter sanctuary within the festivities. Soft music is playing in the background and the lighting is low, with plenty of private alcoves for a quiet conversation and the deck is broad enough to allow for some slow-dancing under the light of the earth.
Later in the evening, the Grand Ballroom of the embassy will be opened. It’s the jewel of the moon base, an opulent space on the top level of the embassy dome, with huge glass windows providing views on all sides of the stars and the earth. The marble floor is etched with a detailed map of the moon’s face, with a little star etched to mark the location of the moon base in the Mare Nubium, the Sea of Clouds. Music is playing and there are food, drinks, and dancing aplenty. It’s a good chance to show off your best moon fashion under the light of the stars.

As the highly visible face of this project, Adam Parrish can be found anywhere and everywhere. He's the imPort Coordinator, and he's made it his business to make sure everything runs smoothly. He can most often be found on the arrivals deck, greeting everyone he can, introducing himself, and answering questions. "Adam Parrish, imPort Coordinator. Welcome! Let me know if there's anything I can help you with."

In the lecture hall, Adam will be delivering a lecture: "Introduction to the Moon Base and Beyond." It's a fun and approachable lecture where he talks about the making of the base, the systems involved, and how the structure of the colony--interconnected domes--allows for nearly unlimited expansion. The moon base is here to stay, easily accessible via Porter, and it will be able to grow as people continue to work on the moon and build new habitation domes as the colony expands. He'll be answering more questions after the lecture, so stick around!

Once the Grand Ballroom opens up in the evening, Adam can be found there with either of his two dates: Betty Cooper and Ronan Lynch. He is very sharply dressed and enjoying every moment of being powerful, successful, and young, with a beautiful person on each arm, but he's pulled away from them by his duties often enough that it's easy to find him on his own if you'd like to chat or to ask him to dance.

Betty had promised before she left to go home, that she'd go with Adam to this event. And she'd even bought a dress (with her earning as a model for Sweet Cosmetics) for the occasion.

Being back had helped her calm down, had helped her feel a little more normal even if being the second string date for a man on the moon wasn't anywhere close to being normal. She'd been excited to be there, to do something she'd never done, to be completely distracted from all her worries and while she was doing exactly what her mom would want her to do (be eye/arm candy for the uber-successful), she was still having a good time.

She approaches Adam with a smile, holding out her hand. "Are you going to dance with me?"

A - atrium and registration

[Alfie isn't a regular at swear-in events - in fact, it's been almost a year since he's attended one. Part of it is a general lack of interest in registering or taking part in government-sponsored events, but the safety factor is an issue too: swear-ins are an obvious target for supervillainy, pandemonium, and general mischief, and he usually just doesn't want to fucking deal. He's a gangster, sure, and he's been a victim (not to mention a perpetrator) of his fair share of violence, but that's a far cry from being the potential victim of an all-out terrorist attack. No thanks, as far as he's concerned.

But despite all that, he's not so opposed to the idea of swear-ins that he'll pass up a particular one if something about it strikes his fancy - so here he is, up on the moon. He's playing it cool and casual, and it's a game he's pretty damn good at, but people who are particularly observant or good at reading body language might still notice that he's actually a little tense underneath it all. Even after over a year in this world, being off-planet is a decidedly new experience - and definitely one that's very far out of his comfort zone, despite the curiosity that had coaxed him up here in the first place. His face and shoulders are just a smidge more tense than usual, he keeps a tighter grip on his cane, and - after he sees the warnings about changes in gravity and body weight - he walks with a distinct shuffle, like he's unsure if he should actually lift his feet off the ground.

It's probably a good thing that the atrium is windowless, because it lets him ease into the experience gradually, rather than immediately confronting him with the fact that he's in fucking space. So he'll mill around here for a while, sampling the drinks and poking around at the maps and information sheets. The registration desk only gets the barest of glances, but when he notices the residency applications, he'll snort and comment to whoever happens to be standing nearby:]

B - embassy dome

[Alfie spends some time in the research dome, sticking his head into a couple of the classes, but he finds his way to the embassy dome before the residential dome - which means that his first proper view of space and the Earth is off of the gigantic, impressive, awe-inspiring, overwhelming Earth-viewing deck. The first sight of it is nearly enough to knock him off his feet. He stops short and just stands there for a spell, not even bothering to try not to openly gape. Once the initial shock has worn off, he'll steal off to a more out-of-the-way alcove, finding a spot to sit and watch.

And the scientific community, as you can imagine, is clamoring at the chance to run studies on the moon.

[ Now THIS is what he's been talking about. To be out in space like this- and on THE MOON of all things where he doesn't even need his buddy Warlock's help in creating an illusion of the thing. It's pretty sweet and despite his injury from a little earlier on, here he is, hurrying his way through the base and taking a look over anything and everything. ]

Yo, now this is totally worth this crappy place.

[ He's already looking for the applications of where to sign up for residency here, a pencil tucked behind his ear while he plays with a yo-yo as he goes.

He might also totally grab a snack or drink off your plate if you're not paying attention because... finders keepers or something? ]



BOUNCY CASTLE
[ Well, what if someone WANTS to touch the ceiling of this bouncy castle? Because that's exactly what Jr here is going to try and do. He can't really say he's had much experience with a bouncy castle back home but, shit, it's kinda cool? But, you know, why not make this a little more interesting?

Reaching into his jacket pocket, he pulls out a candy bar and waves it around at- YOU! Yes, you. You standing there or having a few bounces in the castle yourself and he's got a grin on his face as he waves that candy bar around. ]

EMBASSY DOME
[ Sporting some moon fashion of his own (kid can clean up when he wants to), Jr can be found hanging around the Earth-Viewing deck and just staring out at the planet that seems so close yet is so far away at the same time. Catching him here is a lot different than anywhere else as he seems quiet, thoughtful, closed off within himself and not at all rowdy or chatting anyone's ear off.

The other spot to catch him in is the Grand Ballroom where, no, he won't be dancing but he'll be lingering around the food table and popping some snacks into his mouth. Or, you might just catch him sitting on the marble floor and tracing his finger over the various lines of the map etched into the floor and if you bump into him? ]

[The last voice Jr. wants to hear, surely, but Duo felt bad just standing there invisible and silent, watching the boy stare down. It made him nostalgic, like a lot of this place did, but most of all it made him sad.]

Why does this world have only one moon? That just seems weird. Probably the weirdest thing about this world so far. Yes, even more weird than the device and the great leaps in technology. What do the moon cycles here mean for Khajiit, he can't help but think.

But the idea of actually going to a moon and exploring was too much of an opportunity to pass up. So here he is. He'll be taking heed of the warnings about fire. He honestly hadn't expected the moon to look like this. He wonders if his own world's moons look like this up close.

He can be found around the registration area, swearing in, or taking a moon tour with the giant clear balls. The suit alternative seems a little much for him.

B-Residential Dome
This is nice. These domes with the various places he can go. The two places he can be found here are walking through the park, admiring the mosaics about the myths, something he's always interested in, or buying himself a snack. He can also be found looking at the clothes at the Fashion dome. Mostly making weird faces at the equally weird fashions.

Research Dome
This place reminds him of the Mage College, in a way. It doesn't have the feel of magic in the air, something he'd naturally be sensitive to, but it does have its charm. He can be found watching a Chemistry show, or walking through the library. So many interesting books, so little time.

Even if science, especially astronomy, isn't his field of expertise, Mr. Gray can appreciate it here. He especially likes the large library, where he may be found browsing through the various books and even reading a few. Or he may be found in the lecture hall.

[With an Unsuccessful attempt to convince her company to follow her on a tour over the moon, K31 makes her way into the Library. Not the first place anyone who had never traveled to space would maybe think to go. But her hunger for knowledge and her general curiosity was no match for her better judgement. It's the super spy in her taking over. She can be found standing in her formal gown, thumbing through pages of text she can't even read, trying to make sense of pictures and charts that tell her all about the base itself. She is in fact so deeply involved with her books, she might not notice she may be in your way.]

[After taking some time to tour as much of the base as she can take in, K31 has found her way into the Grand Ballroom with just the right attire to match. (Thanks to her unwilling body guard D33.)
She is taking her time to outline the outer most perimeter of the Ballroom, fingers gliding slowly, thoughtfully over the windows. Bright green eyes twinkling in the lights of the beautiful room and stars. Watching the other guests around her rather than initiate outright. Though you may meet her via her running right into you in her star struck state. (That part is optional!)]

b.)Embassy Dome, CLOSED!:

[K31 has found refuge here in the Viewing Deck from all the bright exciting activities of Moon's party around her. Rather than engulfed in laughter and vivid conversation, she has taken to surround herself the soft glow of the Universe spinning around her.

Here she is her most quiet. Her first time really seeing the stars. Letting the soft melodies bounce gently around in her head and take her over. ]

[D33 isn't far away. He'd broken off for a moment, left K31 alone to stare at the stars while he sought out Kaneki in the ballroom. He can't be sure how long he'd been gone, but he isn't too keen on the idea of leaving K31 alone for any amount of time, so he's eager to find where she's wandered off to.

[He's about to call out her name when he spots her on the viewing deck, but the scene outside stops him in his tracks. It has every time he's passed it so far tonight. But this is the first he's taken a closer look. He walks silently up behind her, eyes falling on the massive sphere of the Earth floating below them.

[It's really nothing like watching the stars through a telescope. And he hadn't even had the opportunity to show K31 that yet. He hadn't been expecting a trip to the moon to be her introduction...]

Research Dome
[ Galla doesn't have a very strong understanding of what space is like or what is actually in it, so of course there was not a single chance in hell that she would pass up an opportunity to get as close to space as any person in her world could ever hope to get. She's also immediately found her way to the library in the research dome where she can be found browsing the books, occasionally pulling out something that looks especially medical—an anatomy book, or perhaps a text on a specific class of diseases.

She can also be found attending the chemistry experiments where she's eagerly following the instructions being given out. At least one of them ends when the beaker she's pouring chemicals into suddenly spills over with a thick foam that smells surprisingly like jasmine. At least the instructor leading the class doesn't seem alarmed, so probably it's fine. ]

Embassy Dome
[ Eventually (very eventually), she finds her way to the viewing deck where she's lingering and drinking in the view of the Earth looming above them in space. Even though it isn't her own world, there's something astounding about seeing a planet so full of life in the sky above her. ]

[ Yuri hadn't planned on coming to the swear in. He'd have much preferred to stay at home where it was safe. Unfortunately, certain people who will remain unnamed refuse to follow his perfectly reasonable example and insisted on attending.

So, here he is, just waiting anxiously for something to go wrong as has so often been his experience. He's avoiding the attractions with the exception of the restaurants, generally scowling around at the different sights there are to see while he chews angrily on a warm pretzel. ]

At least the food isn't shit.

[ One of those people is Yusuke. Sorry.

His justification had been an overlong speech about how he's spent his entire life looking up at the moon and stars for inspiration and serenity and there is no way he is going to pass up an opportunity to visit, 50/50 chance of a typical swear in catastrophe be damned.

No matter how grumpy Yuri is, Yusuke will accompany him with a smile and a sparkle in his eye, diving into his bag for his sketchbook every two minutes either to jot down ideas or slam the brakes on their tour to draw the earth from the moon. Amazing. At least this pit stop is next to a food cart. ]

It would not hurt you to relax and appreciate the opportunity. Look out the window, it's incredible.

Atrium/Registration

[Lance was far too excited to be back in space to be bothered too much by security. He knew the protocols needed in space--the depressurization, decontamination--and this, in comparison, was a cake walk.

He's almost tempted by the registration desk, the calls for openings for residency all but begging him to sign. But that was a decision he'd have to take up with Keith. They had a place of their own in Heropa as it was, and this wasn't exactly a free-for-all living arrangement. What if they both signed up and only once got accepted? It'd be like the Garrison cuts all over again. And there was the matter if Red would be allowed on the base at all...Instead, he chose to wander the atrium, eyes lit with a sense of wonder at the decorations and offerings of the swear-in. And then he spotted the moon tours. Yeah, he wants in a suit or a hamster ball, sign him up.]

Residential Dome

[No one could confuse Lance with the dignified. He had forgone most of the other entertainments of this dome--the fashion, the shops, and even the other offerings of the festival and the park itself. No. Instead, this eighteen-year-old was in a glorified bouncy castle, having the time of his life trying to bounce up high enough to reach out and touch the ceiling. He may be laughing like the child he's acting like.

Let him live.]

Embassy Dome

[The rest of the night had been fun and games, letting Lance just kind of let loose and have a taste of the world he was missing. But now he had found the viewing deck. He had taken to one of the quiet corners, sitting down in the shadows as he gazed out at the Earth, illuminated against the black, vast emptiness of space. Up here, he could almost imagine that was the Earth he knew--that somewhere on the surface was his family and the Garrison. And that somewhere beyond the reaches of this system, of this expanse of the universe, was the Castle of Lions with the rest of their friends.

Up here, he could almost pretend that he wasn't so alone and that he was so far from anywhere he had taken to calling home. Out here...it was almost as if things were normal again.]

[ When Lance told him that the new Swear-In party was on the moon? He was skeptical. Everything about this society seemed backwards, far forward and yet two steps back. He conceded after a moment, but he never really dreamed about being out in space again. He (reluctantly) left his blade behind, and went with him.

After losing him for a few hours (he was pretty sure he was at the bounce house) he finally found him, staring at Earth.

He forgot how much beauty space had at times. ]

Hey... I lost you back there. [ A tick. ] You okay?

Ronan Lynch | Unsettled | OTA

[Ronan's primary purpose is to remain at Adam Parrish's side at all times, both bodyguard and arm candy for the man of the evening. Sporting some moon fashion of his own, he cuts a handsome figure in his iridescent black suit, his mohawk styled a bit loose and wild. For most of the evening, he looms over Adam's shoulder and stares silently at the crowd, leaving only now and then to fetch a drink for Adam or his other date, Betty.

At those odd times when Adam's pulled away for business, Ronan makes his way to the viewing deck, where he can drink in relative peace. If he were in a better mood, he might appreciate the triumph of conquering a satellite and gazing down at the glorious Earth. Unfortunately, he's bitter and withdrawn, counting down the minutes until he can escape back to solitude. This was supposed to be a victory for all of them, but he enjoys it about as much as a bulldozer can enjoy the skyscraper for which it helped paved the way.

Eventually, the party moves to the grand ballroom, where Ronan pounds down several more drinks and takes up his usual position as a wallflower. He looks entirely unfriendly and in no mood to dance - which means, of course, that someone should ask him to.]

[ At least Ronan had a dual purpose? Betty was strictly there to be arm candy, to look lovely in a dress and impress the right people. She'd promised to do this for Adam and honestly, she was glad for the distraction.

On the other arm, was Ronan. On a good day, Betty didn't think this kind of thing would make Ronan happy. But things had been more than a little tense in the house lately (an understatement). She didn't have to have superpowers to see and sense that. And she knew most of the reasons why.

So for all the wonderment she'd had about being on the moon, her already fluctuating mood was dampened by the sight of Ronan, looking fairly more miserable than usual. She breaks away from Adam, excusing herself for a moment to take her own break from smiling bright and being charming to approach her other date(?), if that's what he really was. Her maybe-not-boyfriend's boyfriend?

She snatches two glasses off a passing tray that looks something like whiskey and offers one to Ronan in solidarity.] I'd say you could try to make a run for it but I think there's whole gravity-slash-dying-in-the-lonely-cold-of-space thing.

[The guard at the gate makes Hange grateful that she refrained from wearing her weaponry onto the base - it was hard to leave it behind, but she'd hate even more to check it in upon entry here. There'd be far too many possibilities for someone to interfere with the 3DMG, to the point where she simply would not be able to relax.

As it is she passes the guard without trouble, and the registration table with only a glance. Not yet, and perhaps never, for that.]

[This? This is her shit. Hange is going to every talk she can fit in. She's doing every experiment that she possibly can. Fuck the moon up like a scientist!!

It's a mind-bending amount of information, a totally different way of seeing the world. Reading so much and doing so much induces a headache. And yet!]

This... is the best thing in this world.

[When she can't carry on any further, she heads for the Embassy dome, to take in that million-dollar view.

What an unbelievable sight. The earth shining like a blue and green fruit, suspended in a dark sea. Hange holds up a hand and covers the planet with her thumb, then shields it from sight with the whole hand. So small and so precious and very far away. To herself:]

If only Erwin and Levi could be here for this...

Atrium and Registration

[Ezequiel still hadn’t decided if he was going to Register, but there was no way he would pass up the chance to go visit the moon. It was the moon, after all. Everything about the experience brought a grin to his face, and he was obviously delighted just to be present, ‘airport’ atmosphere or not, since it was, again, the literal honest-to-God moon. He spent a good half hour basking in the sheer joy and awesomeness of being on the moon before he started to own up to the fact he’d have to make a decision about Registration.

On the one hand, he knew what happened to people the government tracked who had superpowers back home. There were consequences for stepping out of line and there were amplified risks given the nanites. On the other, he was too young to strike out on his own here, even with his superhero experience back home and his relatively good control of his powers.

So ultimately he ended up awkwardly hanging around near the table, agonizing over the decision visibly.]


Residential Dome: Clothes and Shoes

[Never the fashion forward or even moderately fashionable member of his group of friends back home, Ezequiel nonetheless found himself intrigued by clothes on the moon. Futuristic usually meant things like in the sci-fi comics he loved and there was something inherently cool about the words ‘moon fashion’. Even someone like him whose idea of good clothing consisted of buttons up shirts and matching his T-shirt to his sneakers could be swayed by the promise of getting to look sci-fi levels of ridiculous.

He happily tried on an array of bad outfits, ultimately settling on purchasing the one that made him feel most like a Goth ninja from the future, and could then be found looking at the shiny shiny 'futuristic' sneakers on sale and devoting way too much thought to which to get.]

Residential Dome: Park

[As much energy as he had, he could still enjoy looking up at the peaceful view of the stars in the sky, at the beauty of Earth, alone with quiet thoughts about how massive it all was and how tiny he was, by comparison. After some walking around, he settled on sitting in the grass, watching the view of space this place allowed him. Ezequiel was more optimistic than most about the idea of being here; there were a lot of good things that could come of it, and from this high up, there weren’t country borders or divisions, just the planet, just people and Earth, united as one.

Since his powers were at their best when he was emotionally stable, and he hadn’t felt this good or mellow in a while, he couldn’t help testing out his ability to create light in a new way, trying to make small flecks of light glow the way the stars did. The visibility of the lights was a tricky thing, but after a few dozen tries, he seemed to have gotten ahold of it, the display drawing some attention unnoticed by him as he continued to try to make more spots to match the seemingly infinite number of stars in the sky.]


Embassy Dome: Grand Ballroom

[He could dance just fine back home, having been taught by his two best friends who were far more into the idea of it than he ever was. What he hadn’t taken into account was the difference in dance styles between Angola and other places, as he quickly realized he didn’t know how to participate in these sort of dances. Still, the music was wonderful and his mood was still high, so he found a wall to lean against as he took in the array of space clothes – he himself had swapped out his gaudier (if more fun) outfit for something more subdued – and the generally upbeat atmosphere of the room.

After a bit, though, his natural shyness gave way to curiosity, and he plucked up the nerve to approach the nearest person who looked as if they knew what they were doing to ask,] Could you teach me how to dance? If you don’t mind, I mean.

Finally, he gets to the center of the show. He lies down next to him, and says:] Are you doing all of this? [And he waves a hand at the lights.] It's pretty cool.

A. Moonwalk

[Tina's excited about the prospect of a moon tour, despite a lot weighing on her mind right now. This seems like the perfect opportunity to get away from it all, by rolling around the moon's surface inside a clear ball along with a tour group.

She should have guessed, however, that this was a bad idea, for she's far too uncoordinated to roll the ball in a straight line. She keeps either tripping-]

Sorry! Sorry! Uhm, let me go back and get a space suit... that'll be better...

[The tour guide with her is getting increasingly exhasperated and seems ready to kick her off and send her back.]


B. Bouncy House

[After the tour fiasco, Tina figures the gigantic bouncy house is the safest place for her. And, hey, unlike the one she and her siblings had stolen for Rudy that one time, this one wasn't floating on a lake nor being pursued by the rightful renters.

She doesn't bounce too hard, just enjoying the feelings of near weightlessness, until she feels bold enough to try a flip.

She doesn't end up falling on her face, so she does it again. And again. And soon she's bouncing and flipping all over the place, laughing aloud.]


C. Earth viewing

[Later, Tina's gone to get some food and then to get her first glimpse of Earth as viewed from the moon. It's breathtaking, and having some quiet time to herself is nice, but soon she's restless, tapping her fingers on the railing, pacing, changing positions. Her decisions haven't been left down there, after all.]

[ Kaneki is here, with his communicator, mostly taking notes. Also because Swear-Ins usually go to shit and everything starts exploding; when you are in space, the explosions are something to worry about a lot and so Kaneki came just in case. Also because he has never been to space, and let's be honest, it's kind of like a dream to be standing on a moon base.

he can be found reading through his communicator, with a cup of coffee in his hand; he is wearing a long black coat and black gloves, easily hiding among everyone else wasn't it for his white as snow hair. Anyone is free to approach of course, Kaneki will happily chat with those he knows and those he has just met.

Perhaps invite him for a moonwalk? Kaneki will probably say yes. ]


Residential Dome
[ if asked, kaneki will say that residing on the moon is probably one of the dumbest things anyone can do right now, especially after what happened on the Big Brother TV show. There is an enemy out there, in space, and naturally going to space to live is like carrying a big target on your back - they barely know what to do on Earth, how they will work things around in space?

Kaneki walks around the dome, refusing to try and wear the things he is offered by the shops, clearly not wanting to be the face of some weird fashion style. He is polite about refusing the clothes, but when someone insists on him trying out the glasses, he ends up giving in. Kaneki turns to the closest person ]

Do you think this trendy enough? [ he is joking, of course. The "glasses" are really ridiculous. ]


Research Dome
[ He is, in no way, science-savvy. Most what he knows he had to read through books to understand and put together, but of course he doesn't know half of the things that are written in those books. But a library is a library, and as usual Kaneki is fascinated by it. Ken does dare to grab some books on the way (small things like "Living on the Moon for Dummies" or "The future and you") and eventually sits to read them and flip through the pictures and pages curiously.

He supposes this wave of imPorts did end up doing something grand after all. Another space race is probably going to start after this. ] Not bad. [ he comments to himself, ending up closing the book and looking around. ImPorts REALLY know how to make things happen when they join their brains and powers together ]


Embassy Dome: Earth-Viewing Deck
[ Let's be honest here, Kaneki IS fascinated. he has never been to space, he has never seen space like this, not Earth and not the moon. So standing in front of the huge window, looking back at earth so small, it feels as if it's not real, like they are in some strange movie or virtual reality (it has happened). The ghoul is standing there, touching the glass and eyes set on the blue planet outside, a bit speechless right now.

It's overwhelming, like they are so small. Well, in truth they really are.

So feel free to approach Kaneki who looks like he just saw the whole world (well, he actually did) ]


Embassy Dome: Grand Ballroom
[ It has been such a long time since Kaneki last danced. Actually danced, in a ballroom. He is by no means a pro, but he learned to dance while he was in this world, trained a lot with a friend that was Ported out, and misses those moment and classes when the two of them were just following the music. He is more of a waltz guy, so prefers something softer and more classical, and when that kind of song comes up, he will be approaching someone he happens to know and offer them his hand ] Hello- feel like dancing for a bit?

[ those people he doesn't know can certainly be the ones approaching him and ask him for a dance. Kaneki definitively looks interested as he watches everyone else dancing. ]

Grand Ballroom

[D33 has spent most of the night following K31 around, trying to keep her out of trouble, trying to teach her what he knows about Swear-Ins, registration, and stars (it's not a ton), etc.. In fact, he's been pretty preoccupied with K31 in general since she first arrived, unable to give Kaneki the attention that he usually would. At some point in the night though, he finally breaks off from her, venturing off instead to find the ghoul. Kaneki certainly doesn't need to be checked up on as K31 does - he always seems to attend the Swear-Ins and he's perfectly capable of taking care of himself (well, most of the time), but if D33 were the type of person to admit this sort of thing to himself, he would say that he missed him, that he wanted to find a corner to hold his hand for just a moment before his paranoia over took over and led him running back to find K31 again.

[He finds him in the Grand Ballroom, just in time for Kaneki to offer the hand and a dance. It catches him a bit off guard, but his lips quirk just a bit with the threat of a smile.]

I don't believe I ever have before. [He'd swayed a bit in place, maybe, getting lost in the records that Kaneki had gotten him for Christmas, maybe even hummed a bit without realizing it, but never danced. He's not entirely sure that he really wants to dance, especially in front of all these people.

[Well, what he really wants to do he doesn't want to do in front of all of these people anyway, so without elaborating, he takes Kaneki's hand and leads him gently to the dark corner he'd been thinking of, waiting until they're there to slide a subtle arm around him and bring him in a bit closer to his chest, resting his chin atop the white hair of the man's head.]

Jacob is thrilled to see the Moon Colony officially open for business. He's put in a lot of hours helping out with this project over the past few months, and it feels good to see it becoming a reality, a place of peace and knowledge where people can work together and appreciate the stars.

It's not all smooth sailing, though. Jacob can be found arguing with an official at the security checkpoint about whether he can bring his 'stunner' ray gun onto the Moon Base. "It's not a projectile weapon," he insists to a blank-faced guard. "It fires an electro-ray- completely non-lethal, nothing piercing. Come on, man."

He's not thrilled by the prospect of being unarmed in a base that is, in Jacob's estimation, a prime target for anyone who wants to harm imPorts or sabotage a peace process.

Yet once he's inside, it's all good. Jacob spends some time simply lying down in the park, gazing up at the stars, appreciating the chance to see them from this viewpoint while stretching out on the grass in his armour with his hands behind his head. He also drops by the registration table to check out the available information on living on the Moon. He gazes at the offered pamphlet for a long moment before setting it down with a regretful look. "Not right now," he says softly. "But maybe some day."

Finn likes this thing called ice cream. It's all sweet and creamy, and delicious. And this thin wafer cookie-type thing shaped like a cone that it's served in, it's such a clever idea for serving a treat. A dish you can eat.

As he walks along the path and licks his ice cream, he notices the Redguard in armor looking up at the stars and stops in place. Finn looks up too. He doesn't recognize any constellations. Which only makes sense, he supposes. Still, it's another harsh reminder that he's far away from home.

At last, a taste of stellar civilization from this primitive planet. Count Dooku grudgingly leaves his lightsaber on Earth before coming to the Moon Base for the Swear-In, trusting that his allies and his power in the Dark Side will protect him in the event of any unpleasantness.

Once he's on the base, he can be found walking about in a hamster ball during one of the tours of the Moon's surface, striding about inside the clear sphere with a dignity that is usually not associated with people-sized bubbles. He also stops in to take a look at the Moon Fashion on display, admiring this cape without a shred of irony. He may or may not be buying it and taking it back to Earth.

The Count also spends a fair amount of time taking in the Earth-Viewing Deck in the Embassy Dome, standing at the window with his hands behind his back, looking contemplative of nothing and everything, gazing out at the planet below. Toward the end of the evening, he attends the opening of the Grand Ballroom as well, examining the map on the floor and appreciating the fine design of the venue as he makes new connections with recently-arrived imPorts and enjoys a glass of wine. To those he meets, he makes the same remark:

"And to think, all this grandeur was made possible through imPort cooperation."

Earth-Viewing Deck

Dooku can probably hear Adachi before he sees him, considering he'd making a bit of a fuss over being able to see Earth from the window. He has his Pokemon puppy in his arms, and if Adachi had a tail, he'd probably be wagging it as enthusiastically as Riza was, leaning close to the class -- enough to fog it up a little with his breath.

"Isn't this cool, Riza-chan?" he asked, only to get an enthusiastic yip and his chin licked in return. Adachi laughed softly, leaning the both of them a little closer. "Think you can see our house from here?"

Riza yipped again, wiggling up in Adachi's arms so she could plant her paws on the glass. Neither of them had seen Dooku yet, though it was only a matter of time, as Adachi was starting to turn away from the window.

[The nostalgia hits high with this place; it wasn't too far off from home at all. You can find Duo taking a leisurely stroll through the park and taking in the scenery, relaxing on a park bench, and taking in the sights of the streets, all with a content, perhaps thoughtful expression on his face.]

[What's a priest doing, wandering around up here, anyway?]

[If he spots you similarly marveling around, he might even approach, give a cheerful little wave.] Pretty fantastic, isn't it? This colony.

[Research Dome or 'Lunar bases have a poor safety record in After Colony']

[It's here that the true nature of his interest might show through. He's paying keen attention to any models of the base's systems in particular, and the eye he examines them with is one of scrutiny, not curiosity.]

[He sits in on some of the lectures, lurking in the back, but he seems to be paying more attention to the others present- and those presenting- than the content of them. You might even catch his running, sassy commentary under his breath if you're real close to him. Let's just say he and "explosive decompression" aren't strangers.]

[Towards the tail-end of the night, especially when things have cleared off, you might just find him sitting by the Earth-viewing Deck and looking thoughtful, wistful, a little sad. Although Father Maxwell was generally a cheerful fellow, the face he wore here was perhaps a more truthful one.]

[The gleam of the Earth... something no one from the colonies could ever put out of mind. Wars had been fought for it. Now, this world too, would begin to spread its fingers out toward the blackness of the space frontiers, and so too would come the desire to look back to the Earth and behold it. He could hope, in vain, that things didn't turn out the same here.]

A remarkable sight, is it not? It is the first time I have seen the planet from this vantage with my own eyes.

[ Steve is standing in front of the registration table, frowning as he reads the pamphlet the government gave him. Registration is... weird. The military back home is pretty scary, specially involving secret stuff they want to keep secret; they also let a hole between two dimensions open up and let Earth be invaded by man-eating demon dogs.

He isn't all that sure if he should sign up for anything, he doesn't want to be drafted either. But the perks seem pretty cool. Steve looks around, trying to find someone - preferably an adult - to talk about this ] Hey- sorry. The whole registration thing, are you doing it too?

[ Steve is a bit fascinated by all of this, enough that he got himself some pretty cool sunglasses, gloves and shoes - they ARE super cool, don't question the kid who just came from the 80's, alright?

He is looking at several more items, specifically a pretty cool baseball bat when out of the blue another bat shows up out of nowhere in his hand.

he just stays there, staring at it, when suddenly he laughs ] HOly fuck, THAT WORKED! [ for the first time ever since he arrived Steve's powers have worked ] Holy shit!! [ he quickly swings the bat once, to make sure it's real and it's there. Mind is officially blown: Steve's power of summoning bats actually works! ]

[ With his bat in hand, Steve walks around the moonbase, hoping the security won't stop him (it's not like he can get rid of the bat now, it's apparently his power), but when he reaches the deck, Steve stops whatever he is doing, looking outside back at earth. He is amazed, he has never EVER seen anything like that. Everything felt pretty much like a dumb movie, but looking at Earth like that is something else, for sure.

He may be a bit too surprised to move, sorry if he is in the way ]

[ Nancy stops to stare at the Earth below them as well--not her own Earth, but the sight still tugs at her heart so she feels proud and homesick and awestruck all at once.

And... there's Steve, who looks like he might be thinking the same thing. She sees him out of the corner of her eye, and hesitates. Things are weird with Steve. A part of her realizes their breakup was probably for the best, but she didn't even have a chance to be part of the decision, and... Well. She got dumped, is what it feels like. She got dumped and now she's raising kids with her ex (who might still be in love with her), oh and also they're stuck in an alternate universe.

All that awkwardness somehow seems to shrink at the view before them, an awesome reminder of how small their problems are in comparison to the vastness of a planet.

So she finds her way over to him, smoothing the skirt of her dress despite herself. ]

You know, I thought this whole "moon party" was going to be a trick until the second we got here.

[Like many other new people, Freyja's standing near the registration table and deeply considering all of the information presented. It wouldn't be that much different than home, would it, even if home was more her belonging to contracted militia? And they've gotta be better than the UN Spacey. They've already been so nice to her and the perks are all pretty nice sounding... And then she turns to the person nearest to her.]

Hoina! Hey! Do you know what you're gonna do yet?? Did you already decide??

MOONWALK TOURS

[Of course Freyja would be there! There's no way she couldn't be! Any chance to see space is one she couldn't turn down. Of course, she picked the hamster ball. She's clumsy, prone to tripping and stumbling (even if she may be in the hamster ball), and that's why there might be a ball with a girl rolling straight at you.]

[Freyja... well, this is probably the calmest she's been all day. She took the time earlier to find a halfway decent dress that she could wear and every so often she just spins in it because it's fun.

She can be found just being content to dance by herself, or finding observation decks so that she can peer at the Earth and the stars.]

[ Steve is considering things himself. While the perks are great and probably necessary to have, he feels weird signing up with the military like that. he had no plans of being drafted either and it feels like that's what they want.

[ He knew he told Yuri that he wasn't going to the swear-in, but once he found out it was on the moon, Yuuri really couldn't resist. He had to see what a moon resort would even be like, and had planned on sneaking off on his own if he really needed to. Fortunately, it didn't seem like he wasn't the only one in their little group that wanted to go, to the point that even Yuri came along, grumpy as he was about the whole thing. ]

[ Yuuri found himself hesitating by the registration table, though. The government stipend really would help all three of them, even if Yuri was the one essentially supporting most of them. He didn't feel like he should be the only one that was -- it didn't seem fair, since they weren't even related. He looked back at Yuri, back at the table... and then sighed, ducking his head in apology. ]

Sorry, but I won't be registering.

[ Yuuri's more than happy to be dragged around and do some dragging around the residential dome, reminded of Barcelona all over again. Of course he hit the food shops and the park, as well as had fun in the bouncy castle. But the fashion definitely caught his attention, hoping for idea on what to wear when he looked into competing again. Some of what they had on display, though... ]

[ Yuuri made a face at a particularly weird set of clothes, shaking his head. ]

[ Of course Yuuri spent some time out on the Earth Viewing Deck, entranced by the sight of Earth looking so far away, though he eventually made his way to the ballroom. The whole set up drew his attention just as much as viewing deck did, that he almost didn't notice it when someone tried to pass him some champagne. He let out an awkward noise when he did, raising his hands as he backed up. ]

A-ah, no thanks. I shouldn't be drinking...

[ Nancy was not expecting this. From the moment she arrives, her eyes are wide with wonder and sometimes, outright disbelief. She only stops at the registration table to pick up a map and a pamphlet on moon residency, but noticeably ducks out before answering any questions about her registration status and continues to peruse her pamphlets at a safe distance. ]

II. LIBRARY

[ She has no idea what she's looking for in here, really. The moon is interesting, sure, and being on the moon is completely mind-blowing, but her scientific interests lie elsewhere.

Unfortunately, there aren't any books in the library titled "How to Port Yourself and Your Family/Friends Back to Your Own Universe" (unless there are, and those books are in another language, in which case screw you, library.) But Nancy is still going to poke around and see if she can find anything useful, any clues about the technology that brought her here or perhaps the government that is keeping her here.

It isn't long before she has a small pile of books set up, and a permanent wrinkle knitted across her forehead as she flips through them. ]

III. BALLROOM

[ Her dress for the evening is modern enough, worn with a pair of white boots that have glowing soles, but her hair-do is pretty 80s. Her intention was to blend in with the crowd but it's difficult for her to tell if she's been successful or not, considering the wild and varied looks of moon fashion. Either way she wallflowers nicely, watching the proceedings with a close eye, and daintily polishing off drink after drink. After drink. After drink. Whoa girl, that's a lot of drinks. ]

IV. WILDCARD run into Nancy any place of your choosing! She'll be all over, trying to take everything in and occasionally attempting to take pictures with her phone (she's not great at that yet)

This is all his sci-fi dreams coming true, all at once, and he's delirious with happiness over simply being here. He's especially paying attention to the moonwalk tours, and more than once will be casting a longing look at it and the long lines there.

[Yeah, this?

This is heaven. Dustin actually pinches himself a little bit, unsure if he's really here or if this is all just a dream, but—nope, he's actually here. He heads straight for the library first, and for some time can be found there with a stack of books and his hat off. There's a weird little slug on the table beside him, apparently napping beside a stack of books as Dustin reads. Conveniently, the stack hides the little bastard from sight, but occasionally there's a little chittering noise and Dustin freezes in place.]

Shhh, Dart! Be quiet, you're not even supposed to be here. [Who sneaks a slug onto a moon base, jeez.

Dustin can also be found in the lecture hall, paying close attention to the lectures at hand and scribbling down important details in a little notebook that he brought along just for this occasion. The mysterious slug-like creature is apparently nowhere in sight, but Dustin's hat does seem to be a little stuffed, currently.

He's also visiting the demonstrations, and is currently taking part in one himself—maybe it's just a little twist on your typical middle-school chocolate volcano explosion, or it's a much more complicated experiment involving multiple moving components and a complex bit of chemistry, but whatever it is, Dustin's having loads of fun.]

[Are you an imPort who's not from Hawkins and is not apparently a part of the staff here? Then congratulations, you have a very frantic-looking teen getting your attention somehow—tugging on your arm, maybe, or even getting poked in the shoulder.]

Have you seen my pet? He's a tiny—He looks like a tadpole, sort of, but he's got these little flippers and a little yellow spot on his tail. I need to find him. [Preferably before any of his friends figure out he brought Dart along. Shit, preferably before Will sees him.]

[ Jesse, dressed uncharacteristically smart (sans hair; he has a close shaved buzzcut) and about to light a cigarette while trying to grab a few minutes peace in a quiet and less crowded area, has turned on the spot to look down at the kid who'd tugged on his arm.
