WHO: An ice boy trio
WHERE: It's a secret (Woods on outskirts of Heropa)
WHEN: Backdated to the 25th
WHAT: Just some boys out on a hike
WARNINGS: Teenagers having feelings
[It's been a cheery day of gift exchanges and holiday cheer, but Yuri's got one last gift for his boyfriends that he simply must give in private. That's why he's leading them into a patch of woods out in the middle of almost nowhere. (It's a little too close to the city to truly be nowhere, but it's close!) At least he's thought ahead enough to bring some snacks and a few thermoses of warm cocoa for the afternoon.
He's still feeling nervous about it. Honestly, he feels nearly as anxious as he does just before a competition, or in the moments before the final scores for competitors are announced. Unfortunately it's too late for him to turn back now. He's already promised Yusuke and Otabek something at the end of this trip. The only option left now is to follow through.
It isn't too long of a walk before they come upon a clearing in the woods, and Yuri glances over at the pair of other boys as they approach it.]
Hey, this is the spot. Can you guys wait a few more minutes while I set up one last thing?

Hey, this is the spot. Can you guys wait a few more minutes while I set up one last thing?

He tips his head and pauses, dropping his hands to his sides.]
Do you need help with it?
[It's cold out, though not unbearable. He takes a step forward to offer himself up to the other skater.]
no subject
What is it?
[ He too, notices a little of Yuri's nerves, but really, that's the blond's default stance towards sentimentality in general, so he doesn't think much of it. Instead of mentioning it quite yet, Yusuke sips from one of cocoa holding thermoses. ]

[ He gestures at a fallen tree that's making a pretty convenient makeshift bench. ] Just sit and watch. And Beka. [ He pulls out a bluetooth speaker and his phone, already synced to each other. There's a playlist pulled up already, but the song titles have been replaced with a series of emojis so good luck guessing what's coming. ] Hit play once I finish the rink.
[ The rink that he's forming right now, starting with a thick frost spreading out beneath him. ]

He's going to perform.
[His voice is low, the statement partially a question aimed at his other boyfriend. Otabek slips an arm around his waist and pulls him up against his side to share warmth. He balances the phone on his thigh with his other hand, watching Yuri build the ice rink and waiting for his cue to hit play.]
Don't you think?
no subject
What else would the rink be for?

The choreography, when it begins, is surprisingly rigid to begin with. He can't truly mask his skill, but his movements are almost too precise and rehearsed. This is a boy who's focused too narrowly; who is missing the beauty and elegance and emotion that belong in an art like this.
And then the violin cuts in for the first time, and he falters. His movements are less rigid, more uncertain, and there a glance or two thrown in Yusuke's direction, though it's difficult to tell if that's intentional or just a coincidence of the choreography. Most importantly, there's a glimpse of actual emotion in Yuri's movements now. They're softer, a little more delicate and—hopeful? Even when the violin fades, the change in the choreography remains.
When the violin cuts in for a second time, his movements become more sure but no less elegant. There's a glance in Otabek's direction this time, still hesitant even while his step sequences become more confident. The mood changes from hopeful to something more fond, and he reaches out towards the both of the other boys the next time he's turned to face them.
It's only when the violin drops away again that he finally spins into flashy pirouettes and leaps. There isn't time left for many of them, but the message is clear—he's cast off whatever it was that was holding him back from embracing his feelings. And when he makes his final landing he's facing the pair of them, arms outstretched again and expression surprisingly gentle and loving. He hadn't been sure he'd be able to stick the end, but he's managed to keep his nervous repressed. All he can do now is wait to see how they take it. ]

There's a story here, something Yuri is trying to express through his movements and the choice of his music, and Otabek is enthralled. Like he always is when Yura skates. He leans forward slightly so he can focus, interpreting for himself what it all means. Skating was an art form and no two people viewed it the same, which was what made it so appealing. He could see, sense maybe, that the first part wasn't for him. Yusuke.
But the second part, it's his. He's always wondered if they could have had this back home and now he's convinced that they could. It'd be different, the events not the same, but they could take what they had with one another and turn it into this. He's relieved, just thinking that. The rest of the skate goes by in a rush, slow and fast at the same time. He's saying it, without saying anything at all. Otabek gently eases away from Yusuke so he can stand up, his expression matches Yuri's - full of love and affection.]
Yura.
[He reaches for Yusuke's hand.]

But this time it is, and he isn't sure he could turn his attention elsewhere if he tried. He's locked in place, absorbing every emotion on display, ingesting them like he needs it to survive. It's soft and romantic, more than enough to put hearts in his eyes on its own, but even more importantly than that, it's sure. Unquestioning.
Yusuke takes the offered hand, pulling it with him to the edge of the ice to meet Yuri. ]
That was beautiful, Yuri. Very moving. [ Said with all the affection one person could possibly muster. However... ] But you still have to say it.

Was that really not loud enough for you, you sap? I love you. Both of you.
no subject
я люблю тебя, котенок.
[He leans in to press a soft kiss to his mouth.]
no subject
Hearing it means more to him than he can say, but the emotion is on his face when he bends to sit on the ground beside them, misty eyed. Maybe he is a sap, but he's their sap. ]
I love you, too.
[ It's his turn for a kiss. ]
no subject
Instead, as soon as the kisses are done, he opts for thunking his forehead against the spot where their shoulders bump up against each other and mutters some incomprehensible complaint about how embarrassing this all is. And still— ] I'm glad you guys liked it.
no subject
Now that we have all admitted we love one another. Why don't we go home?
[Where it's warm and comfortable and they can snuggle up together.]
Or did you have other plans, Yura?
no subject
[ don't be mad he's teasing ]
Are we going to have to carry you?
no subject
Besides, Beka can teleport us instead. I, uh. I didn't really think about anything after the performance...
no subject
Maybe now it will be easier for him. [Or perhaps not. It didn't matter.] We'll just have to make sure he hears it from us more often.
[Otabek nods.]
I can take us anywhere we want to go.
no subject
[ He sneaks a kiss onto Otabek's cheek, and gives in. ]
Home it is, then. Which one are we going to?
no subject
Beka's place means less people around. [ Mostly it meant almost no chance of Viktor poking his head in to say something embarrassing. ]
no subject
[Otabek reaches for them both, drawing them in and tucking them against his sides. He puts a hand on their hips, smoothing his fingers up and down as a way to ground himself. He's found that moving people or objects is easier than moving just himself. He can focus on what's with him rather than his own body.]
Take a deep breath.
[With that, the shaking will start at Otabek's core and then spread out to them both. In a matter of seconds, they'll all be standing in his living room.]
