WHAT: Pokémon open house - meet and greet, battle demos, and eventually a crazy off-the-Chansey house party

Rival party wants to start!

[The front door to Archie's place is open, though there are no decorations up for the party. They had been considered, but ultimately discarded, because... y'know. Pokémon everywhere. That should be enough.

[The bottom level of the house is entirely open (though there's nothing stopping you going upstairs if you want, you weirdo), but obviously the main stuff is going to be going on in the open living room/kitchen area. Here you will also find a set of double doors leading out into the giant back garden. That was the point of the house purchase, after all - a nice big area for the pokémon to play in. There are plenty of cups out and a couple cold jars of water and miscellaneous other drinks on the kitchen counters, along with a pile of pizza boxes. There's also a sticky note on one of the cabinets that says "ALCOHOL TBA".

[Later on in the evening, spread out over the entire living room table is a small frat party’s worth of various alcoholic beverages, courtesy of one Blue Fuckboy Oak. It’s open for everyone, so if you’re of legal age (or at least look reasonably legal, he doesn’t care), have a drink on him!]

[Outside, the yard is absolutely huge, with a small fire pit (built by Mick, which Archie will definitely tell you if he catches you even GLANCING at it), a deep kiddie pool (has a purpose, really), and a river that runs close to the edge of the garden with only a small fence separating it from the rest of the yard. Fortunately, it's far enough away from the actual house that anyone drunkenly stumbling around would have to actively try to fall in (but, hey, it’s not up to us how you choose to party).

[Additionally, it should be noted that there is music playing, on repeat, and following it will lead to its rather loud, and very human, source.]

Who’s that pokémon? It’s the fear of living that dwells in the heart of all humans! Jk, it’s Pikachu.

[As the purpose of this party is to inform the Pokécast’s fellow ImPorts about the wonders of Pokémon, guests will be highly encouraged to (respectfully and calmly) approach the various Pokémon wandering about. Their trainers will be standing nearby to answer any questions that one might have - if you happen to catch Red, he might even translate questions directly to the Pokémon for you!

[Also, don’t forget to pop outside during one of the exciting battle demos.]

[Seriously though, for people who want a respite from fucking fire breathing animals or just aren't interested, the entire lower level of the house has been set up in a way that people can hang out wherever. There are plenty of seats in each room, plenty of flat surfaces and generally enough space for people to either hide out or just hole up in and chill out.

[Shellder, maybe even some of the hosts or pokémon themselves will swing by for a breather.]

[While people certainly weren't expected to stay, if someone had passed out on the couch, or something, they certainly weren't going to be thrown out. Maybe a blanket was put over you (if it was, you might find yourself tucked up so cozy that you’re a little concerned about being able to escape), partygoer who is still around, or maybe one of the fire types is sitting in the room near you, keeping the entire area nice and toasty.

[Either way, at about 10am, Archie's gonna be the one turfing you out. He has Mightyena to help him, the dog/wolf/hyena Pokémon using Roar (think loud - really loud - barking) on command.

[Archie's an asshole. He'll just laugh when people are startled awake.]

[It's no mystery that this, the battle demo, should be Red's favorite part of the afternoon. He and Blue battle often enough as it is, but there's something exciting about battling in front of an audience again, getting to show people just how thrilling a real Pokémon battle can be (and how much the Pokémon enjoy it themselves).

[They'd agreed on a one-on-one battle with Pokémon picked at random. That puts Pikachu out of the running and a Pokéball in Red's hand (they'd temporarily recalled their Pokémon for the sake of the blind pick). When the time comes, he gives the brim of his cap (which is looking rather festive) a telltale tug and takes a step back, launching the Pokéball forward in one powerful throw. Out comes Charizard, giving a mighty roar while it stretches out its wings. And it's eyes are just as fiery and excited as its trainer's.]

Blue vs Archie

[And if Blue hadn't had enough already, he was going for a double header. This time it was Archie that he'd tossed the challenge to, although he already had an idea of exactly which Pokémon he wanted to use in this battle.]

[Some of his Pokémon needed a little more attention, he thought.]

So, who're you gonna use? I'm all ready when you are! [Blue calls with a smirk, and lobs a ball forward with his choice. Exeggutor lands with a happy little stomping dance, excited for the coming battle.]

Red + Pokémon

1. Let’s be real. You didn’t come here for Red.

[Throughout the afternoon/early evening, Red can be found wandering throughout the party with his Pikachu in tow, doing his best to mingle and be a good host – after all, this is his event. He should probably at least try to interact with the guests he’s invited to it. If you happen to catch him outside in the garden, he’ll be sticking close to the rest of his team: Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur. Don’t be afraid to come and say hi because he’s been mentally preparing himself all day ready to answer your questions. In fact, he’ll even translate them directly to the Pokémon if you want!]

2. Drinking like a Corphish

[As the evening progresses and somebody introduces a small liquor store's worth of alcohol to the event, Red can be found begrudgingly taking a couple of drinks - at first. After a while, though, he's got a pretty good Electabuzz going and-- Well, it pretty much all goes down hill from there. Anyone who knows Red probably knows that he isn't usually the type to stumble around giggling to himself, but that's exactly what you'll see in his attempts to mingle later on in the evening. You might even be able to get a few words out of him if you try. At the very least, you're sure to get a half-horrified/half-tickled "sorry" out of him as he bumps into you, spills his drink on your shoes, or ignores your attempts at conversation completely while he buries his face in Pikachu's tummy and tries to control his overwhelming adoration for the rat.

Reeeee~ddy~~~~! [Blue calls in a drunken, sing-song voice before Red can see him coming. And then it hits him- a tackling hug from behind, arms fling around his waist in a tight cling. He's still got his drink in one hand, masterfully balanced despite this. It's just... in front of Red, now (and ripe for stealing).]

[It's a good thing Blue weighs all of nothing, or else he might have made Red spill his drink, and that would just be a shame.] Heeey~ Red, you havin' fun? Need another beer? I can go get you one~ [This whining adoration is punctuated by Blue rubbing his face into Red's back, probably drooling on his shirt.]

Kaneki isn't really an animal person, even though he has a big farm with a lot of animals - certainly he doesn't dislike animals and he gets along with them well enough, but he isn't the kind of person to want to adopt and and hug every single animal he sees.

Though he won't say no to petting an animal if it seems to want some good ear scratch.

And so as he walks outside to wallflower for a bit, he comes face to face with a... frog with a... tree/flower on its back...? Should he be surprised? No, he shouldn't. But come on what is that ]

[ Cisco is taking SO MANY PICTURES to text to Barry to brag about the fact that he's hanging out with Pokemon while Barry is off... idk snuggling Iris or doing something ridiculous like eating someone else out of house and home. Not gonna lie, he's a little intimidated by the sheer size of Red's non-Pikachu team, but he's sneaking a selfie with Blastoise whether the Pokemon likes it or not. ]

[At some point later on in the party, when everyone is really drunk and no one's really got their wits much anymore, Blue stumbles over towards the Pokémon, checking everyone out to make sure they're okay.]

[And then he plops himself down right next to where Pikachu's snacking on some berries, nursing the remnants of a beer. At first, maybe, he doesn't really notice Pikachu is there, but as soon as he spots the little rat, he makes a face, and looks away again to nurse his drink in silence. It's okay, they can just ignore each other.]

[...Until he looks over again a few minutes later, knees tucked up against himself, and slurs over towards him.] Hey, do you hate me?

[You're talking to a mouse, Blue.]

[ Hajime is one of Archie's adopted children, so Red is unlikely to know him--he's been wallflowering hard, but with Archie's help, he's come a little out of his shell. Ever drawn in by flora, he approaches Venusaur with a curious expression, peering at the plant (?) with some interest before spotting Red. ]

O-oh! Sorry... I should ask first before...

[ ... wait, what's that on his shoulder? Wait, it's moving? It looks like a giant yellow plushie... ]

[All of Blue’s Pokémon are pretty friendly, whether they look it or not. Arcanine, the enormous fire dog, is prancing about the party fishing for pets and shooting out flames to show off. Give him the attention he so craves! Or maybe you’re more interested in Gyarados, the huge sea serpent. He may look ferocious, but he’s quite the softie when you approach him- he especially loves children. You might find him in the river behind Archie’s house having a swim, or slithering through the air overhead of the party, coiling down on the ground every now and then.]

[If both of those are a little too fierce for you, there’s the odd but harmless-looking palm tree that’s been wandering around the yard all day. He might have two legs and 3 faces, but Exeggutor is a peaceful and simple Pokémon that just wants to enjoy the sunlight in the yard. Maybe you’ll get one of the berries he grows if you decide to approach him?]

[Lastly, there’s Eevee, the small vulpine, but you’d be hard pressed to find a moment where he’s not riding on Blue’s shoulder or atop his head. If there is, it’s probably because you’ve caught him making trouble with Red’s Pikachu, or stealing food from one of the tables. He may be cute, but he’s a naughty little one.]

[Blue might have promised to Archie that he wouldn’t break the booze out until a little later, but that just means he has more drinking time to make up for. He disappears for about a half hour at some point in the evening, along with Gyarados, only to come riding back on his Pokémon with some bags from the nearest liquor store.]

[Soon enough, the livingroom tables are layered in all manner of liquor, 6-packs and drinks to mix with them. And of course, Blue is going to be the first one to crack it open.]

Alright, that’s enough teaching for today- I think we’ve all earned ourselves a few drinks, huh? Who’s ready for a shot or three!?

[Maybe you find Blue later in the night, and if you do, boy. Well. You just enjoy that. Have you ever heard a worse karaoke singer? (In fact, what’s he even singing along to? There’s no music…) But it’s not all bad, is it? He’s really talkative, but he’s pretty friendly, too. You could probably get him to do some really stupid shit, if you wanted.]

[Amongst the bad ideas and promises Blue has made in his time as an imPort, this might be one of the worst. But it’s fine, he’s got a couple bucks to blow on a stupid bet- and besides, he’s pretty confident this girl isn’t prepared for what his team can really do. (…Although, going by what Archie told him, he didn’t really think he wanted to see it anymore.)]

[Anyway, by the time it gets to that point in the night, he’s already pretty far gone. Maybe he’ll actually be stupid enough to go through with it.]

it does nothing to dim her confidence as she swaggers up to the boy, grinning at him like she's already won the damn thing. he seems kind of tipsy, which only increases her odds of coming out of this successfully. drunk people were so easy to confuse.]

[ Cisco had been a little surprised to see so much liquor be brought out at a Pokemon party of all things-- still associating the creatures with a children's video game, not really connecting that the trainers are real people who do real people things like drink alcohol. Still, he'd partaken in more than a few shots himself, relaxed and eager to have fun. He was lying in Archie's backyard now, near-empty bottle of something in one hand and the other splayed out on his chest, just staring up into the sky at Gyarados flying through the air.

[you know, it's been a long time since archie last had a house party at his own place. probably a good half-decade. he wants it to be good, but also doesn't really know how it all gets set up? he's only ever arrived after the thing had started at someone else's place. for his own, he's ordered a couple pizzas and just leaves the boxes out with a roll of kitchen paper next to them and a good amount of poffins. which, fortunately, they have a never ending supply of, thanks to his habit of compulsively cooking them when he can't sleep.

whenever someone arrives, archie greets them casually, but he's clearly a little nervous. it's probably ridiculous how much confidence he lost after the whole... kyogre thing, but he tries his best nonetheless.]

[this pokémon party is all well and good, very fun, but archie decides that it's time people pay attention to his bff, sharpedo. he calls it over from the river at the back of the house he'd let it chill in, the shark scooting over immediately with a series of happy grunts.]

[he grabs his mega-anchor, easily starting the mega evolution process. they must've done it a hundred times together by now. mega sharpedo explodes into being a couple of seconds later, after the mega evolution energy had surrounded it and changed its form into the larger... spikier shark.]

[it roars in excitement, then ducks down underwater and explodes upwards, doing a couple of flips while archie laughs maniacally.]

Area Man On Cusp Of Having Fun Suddenly Remembers Every Single One Of His Responsibilities

[it's about half four in the morning, now. there might be a few stragglers still hanging around or passed out - honestly, archie expected at least one person (blue) to get too drunk to get themselves home (blue) so he's none too worried about who he might trip over later on in the morning. anyway, he's still tipsy enough that now is brooding time. he's sitting in the living room, legs crossed on the couch and chin resting in his hand as he surveys the damage. it's not as bad as he had come to expect, to be honest, mostly just some mud and random bits of litter. he'd have an existential crisis about turning into an old man who hates fun if he wasn't so tired. see: brooding.

with a heavy sigh, archie pulls off his banadana and tosses it onto the coffee table, no longer caring about hiding his greying hair with no-one around (maybe if he cares about it so much he should get around to dyeing it?) or the fact he'd rubbed his facepaint off earlier in the night, now having nothing to hide his awful pallor and pangoro eyes, still horribly drained from pushing himself too hard with his healing and general... sleeplessness.

he decides to fix himself some coffee (which he's going to pour rum into), still a little wrapped up in his tiredness and mangsting, so if anyone stumbles in he doesn't quite notice them at first]

He makes a sour face immediately as soon as he sees him, too drunk to hide his feelings even a little, and leans heavily on a counter as he tries to turn himself about and leave again.] --My bad. [Looking forward to this party is one of the things that's kept Tina going and given her some of her holiday spirit back. It's probably not the wisest choice of attire given where she is, but she's chosen to wear a red Santa-themed dress, replacing her usual yellow hairclip with candy cane-striped ones on either side of her head, and putting on makeup albeit a little sloppily. She wants to feel beautiful tonight.

She's brought her new squeeze John with her, a boy her age who has the limber frame of a dancer, curly brown hair on top of his head. He's gallantly carrying Tina's backpack for her with a change of clothing in case the dress gets ruined somehow. He's a friendly but shy sort as Tina introduces him to her friends and to the Pokemon, listening attentively but not saying much; he doesn't stay the whole party, as he has other obligations, but the party attendees may catch him and Tina sneaking handholds and kisses. After he leaves, Tina spends most of her time playing with any Pokemon who will come near, though every now and then she'll show off her magic by putting ice in a drink.

As the party goes on and it gets late, the house owners may find an exhausted but happy teenager asleep on the couch.]

[ Mick is here in full costume because there are fire Pokémon here and he wants to hang out with all the fire Pokémon without getting burnt. He also brought Leonard Snart along, because he may or may not want to convince Len to be down with the whole Pokémon thing, but fairly quickly after he arrives he drops everything and heads to the fire pit where he expects to see the most fire Pokémon. He has a one-track mind.

A little later after the alcohol's been pulled out you can find him inside taking a break with his cowl down and his head bald and beautiful, having a drink, and keeping an eye out for any fiery friends. ]

[Anyone that follows the too loud music will soon find Nikolai, a permanent scowl seemingly fixed to his face. He's here against his will and has to Be Nice Enough when it comes to teaching others about pokemon at least.

But no-one said anything about making nice outside of that. He hates the world, hates Everything, and everyone is going to know it.] What're you staring at?

[At some point, someone really should convince him to turn down the volume.]


2. Pokemon? POKEMON!
[So. Niko's been bullied into allowing his pokemon to roam, at least, three of them are. The trainer himself is attempting to keep to himself, but the four pokeballs on his belt will likely end up drawing attention. So, he's resigned to that at least.

If that doesn't, the unhappy looking sneasel at his side certainly will, and Niko can sometimes be heard snapping at it:] What? You wanna go back in the 'ball?

[His other pokemon are roaming. His haunter has a chefs hat that it's happily showing off, though at times it's also visibly nervous thanks to Niko's sullen glares. Not that it stops it from trying to collect more hats.

The feraligatr can either be found nearish the river as it basks, or more often, in the kiddie pool pretending to be a rather blue log. It seems nervous but it's not unwilling to be the centre of any interested attention. Of course, if anyone goes near it, Niko will soon appear.] Hmph. Curious about it, huh?

[Golbat, on the other hand, is more or less keeping to itself, though sometimes it can be found flying around. At some point, Niko's going to call it over to him and do a bit of a show in feeding it. Thankfully not actually animals (this time), but that is a bottle of blood he tosses to the bat.

It's devoured a little faster than it should be...]
