TURKEY TIME
WHO: YOU!!!
WHERE: The X-Fam House (Though Erik is building a new X-Fam house)
WHEN: Thanksgiving
WHAT: Celebrate with the family, if you were not formally invited you can still drop by! You're welcome to bring housewarming gifts, a dish, or help decorate or clean up, but none of these are required. There are no general headers, please put up your own!
WARNINGS: IDK it's an X-Fam party
THE SPACE
It's at the X-House which definitely isn't currently big enough for everyone to sit indoors, as originally Charles lived in it alone and Erik made additions to the house. Wasn't this a lot easier when they hosted outdoors on the lawn? Yeah, probably. Try not to trip over your friends on the way to your seat, and if you see a member of the family make a last-minute run to Ikea for chairs, don't say anything!
THE FOOD
There's platters upon platters of all manners of traditional and untraditional thanksgiving food, with pretty much all surfaces in the house cleared in order to house all of it. Giant crocks of mulled cider and wine keep warm near the stove, and there are several turkeys all cooked differently. Boats of mashed potatoes and canoes of gravy might float on past your head, and then after dinner's eaten, out comes just as much dessert. Cakes, puddings, and so. much. pie. Hope you came hungry!
THE GAMES
After dinner, there's a lot of mingling, talking, and food coma napping. But a few televisions have been brought down to watch ??? SOME SPORTS GAME THING???, one is dedicated to our favorite SPACE REALITY SHOW and the others are dedicated to party-style videogames. Any table that gets cleared will also have a board game plopped down on it, if it isn't already covered in endless punchbowls of more after-dinner drinks.

Erik
[ Are you here early for some reason? Maybe you live here, who knows. But either way, you can witness a stressed-out Erik Lehnsherr in the kitchen. The flowers that got delivered are the wrong size, his turkey hasn't defrosted as much as he'd like it to, he thought he had enough butter and it turns out that he didn't, there are pans in the sink-- it's not great. ]
I've lost a turkey, have you seen a turkey?
[ He asks this with his head in the fridge. There are multiple raw turkeys on the kitchen island. ]
2. Mingling??
[ After dinner, Erik is trying to go around and greet all the guests, so don't be surprised if he comes over to say hi. Usually this is Charles's job, but he can't let Charles do all the work today. He really doesn't even generally like this part, but there are a lot of people that he hasn't seen for a few months since he's been on leave, and it's odd to feel a sense of coming home and seeing neighbors.
It's almost kind of nice. ]
Thank you for [ coming/bringing a dish/putting out a fire from earlier/your pick! ]
3. Later
[ Sometime as the party starts winding down, Erik decides to step outside to get some fresh air. He walks to the back where there are a smattering of woods, and just takes a deep breath. It's gone pretty well, he thinks, and he should really get back to the party so anyone who leaves can do a proper round of goodbyes, but he wanted a moment. Is your character looking for him perhaps? Or trying to escape the party a moment as well?
Either way, he extends a hand holding a scarf. You look cold! ]
2
No problem. Thanks for the invite. It's nice to get together like this.
BACK FROM HIATUS SORRY FOR THE LATENESS
[ He goes to pour himself a drink, and motions towards Jacob-- does he want one too? ]
Welcome home!
Training hard and kicking ass, mainly. Broke up a gang fight in Maurtia Falls lately, and I've been consulting with De Chima police on a meta-criminal case. What about you?
Re: Welcome home!
Left the country on a fundraising trip. It was alright.
What's going on in Maurtia Falls? I wouldn't think any gangs wanted to set up in a small city in Pennsylvania...

You doing okay?
BACK FROM HIATUS SORRY FOR THE LATENESS
I'm fine.
[ But why did he agree to all this is the question ]
Happy Thanksgiving.
Where's your-- roommate?
YOU'RE AWESOME NO WORRIES
[Lorna opens the wine and grabs a pair of glasses. After a glance at Erik she gets a third.]
I told him to make himself at home. Say when.
[Erik needs a drink more than she does, so she pours for him first.]
no subject
Okay, when.
[ And then proceeds to drink it like he definitely needs something stronger. ]
You're settling in well?

So here he is. And here Erik is. ]
The winters get much colder in Westeros. I find a bit of chill relieving.
[ A pause. ]
I do thank you sincerely for inviting me.
BACK FROM HIATUS SORRY FOR THE LATENESS
[ Though honestly it is nice to get a breath of fresh air. ]
You know, I never got the opportunity to ask you about it. Westeros.
What's it like?
It's okay!! I have been pretty spotty myself
Backwards. Cold. Dull. It is very reminiscent of the stories you have here with knights and dragons and royalty. But I think anyone from a world with this magnitude of technology would get bored there rather quick.
[ He leans against the trunk of a tree. ]

Yes, I don't think most would want to give up modern amenities, even those who think of the sort of lifestyle as romantic.
But I'm going to go on a limb and guess that the medicine and plumbing here is a vast improvement?
Lorna and Remy
[Remy is also there, and also having a glass of wine. Feel free to tag one or the other or both.]
Kaneki (and one prompt with Dee)
[ Being at a Thanks Giving dinner without being able to eat a thing is a bit ridiculous, but Kaneki is there. He has a cup of coffee in his hand, and that's all he will be having that night since it's all he can have. He doesn't seem to be too uncomfortable that everyone is eating while he isn't, but when the smell gets too strong for him, kaneki approaches a window to breathe for a second and give his nose a moment to rest from all that food (which probably smells amazing, but not to a ghoul).
he is found near the window, head outside the window, while he is sipping his coffee with a smile. Despite everything, he is enjoying his time. ]
2. OPEN. Kaneki and D33
[ Kaneki brought a date tonight, which is his partner, D33. Now, D33 isn't a particularly friendly person, but Kaneki adores him and can see the good in him; hopefully whoever approaches the couple will too. They are currently sitting down on the couch, watching that TV show everyone is going on about (Kaneki still thinks the imPorts that went to space are incredibly reckless, but- ah well. At least they are fine, so far). ]
Well, they seem to be having fun at least.
3. CLOSED.
[ Dee spends most of the night near Kaneki, naturally, as he is a wallflower. Well, the two of them are, but Kaneki doesn't feel that awkward because he knows the people, sort of. Regardless, Kaneki wants his companion to be comfortable, so he spends a lot of time with Dee, chatting and watching him.
And right now he is watching him eat. Yes, eyes set on him. ]
2
[ Laurie's suddenly leaning over the back of the couch, elbows pressed into the cushions. She slightly dressy, cardigan-clad and hair pulled into a bun. She leans forward a little more to regard the two of them before turning a grin on Kaneki. ]
Is this your friend you were telling me about?
[ And she's had a couple of text conversations with D33, but... Text. In this situation, she doesn't know him from Adam. ]
no subject
[He glances to Kaneki, then - this must be a friend of his, then. Unlike himself, D33 thinks, which has him eyeing the ghoul, waiting for his response to the rather suggestive question.]
no subject
[ it's the question that gets him to blush brightly though. Yeah, he isn't very subtle ] A-ah- yes- uhm-
Laurie-chan, this is D33. [ yes, with the numbers. ] We work together. [ and live together. And ARE together
kaneki is so smooth ]

3 (sorry I like forgot about this)
Are...you alright, Kaneki?
[Stop...watching me eat?]
<3~
Yes! Sorry, I didn't mean to- [ he looks away after, to give dee is privacy.
Even after all these years without being able to eat, kaneki still feels some nostalgia about food that he can't have, so watching others eating is the closest thing he'll ever have ]
no subject
[D33 keeps his voice quiet so as not to air any of he and Kaneki's business to anyone else seated around the table. It occurs to him then that Kaneki is not the only one who can see him eating right now. And now he really doesn't want to keep going.]
You were watching me.
Why?
[As if these two aren't always watching each other.]

For Kaneki & D33
On a regular day anyway. Let's not talk about the other endeavours they're getting up to in a short awhile.
There are plenty of people at the dinner, Charles is trying to say hello to everyone but some special cases gain more of his attention, definitely. Kaneki being one of those.
"I'm glad you could make it," he says to Kaneki when he hovers to the young man soon after he and his friend (?) make an appearance. "You brought a guest?" He smiles to Kaneki's friend sweetly and offers his hand in greeting. "Professor Charles Xavier. Pleased to make the acquaintance."
no subject
"Hm- He is Dee-Thirty-Three." the full name because Kaneki already knows D33 doesn't like it when other people call him Dee. Apart from kaneki, of course, but he is an exception to a lot of things. "He is... my partner." romantic partner, yes. And if that isn't obvious, Kaneki's cheeks are completely red now, so they give him away.
no subject
[But, they've spoken about this, he and Kaneki. Charles can be trusted, as far as Kaneki is concerned. And he had, at the very least, told D33 that he would refrain from using any telepathy on him should they meet.
[But D33 still doesn't take his hand. He only nods, eyes glued on Charles, suspicious, very nearly warning him not to try anything.]
Good afternoon.
no subject
The young man seems awfully displeased, however, suspicious even. Charles doesn't seem to find this offending, though, quite the opposite. He smiles warmly as he lowers his hand back to his lap.
"It's great to meet you D-thirty-three. Ken's partner is always welcome to my home."
