Spooky Scary... Elementals
WHO: Tefé and YOU! (+ closed for Persephone)
WHERE: Anywhere!
WHEN: Throughout October
WHAT: Practicing porter-altered powers in a very spooky month
WARNINGS: Fleshy grossness/gore/lowkey nakedness in at least one case
The most direct route from point A to point B, when she didn't have anyone with her, was through the Green. There's no Green here, but no place to let her spirit slip into completely and effortlessly. But there's still the interconnectedness of plants, and skipping from tree to grass to moss and everything they touch...
Plants to grow a new body from, those are everywhere. But Tefé isn't like her father. She's flesh and blood instead of vegetation. And that means if she wants to make a new body somewhere else, she'd better find a corpse for a base to work with instead of just any old plant...
1: Thriller at night
It's easy to find a body in a city -- at the hospital, in a morgue, on an autopsy table. But the easiest place of all is where the trees' roots dig deep into the soil, touching the wood of caskets and that wood in contact with the decaying body inside: a graveyard. It's really more work to pull the body up out of the ground than anything.
So anyone in the vicinity might hear the unpleasant rumbling of ground and soil being churned up and see something horrible rise up out of the dirt. Unable to quite transfer her consciousness completely over, Tefé has marginal control over it, staggering forward out of the grave on wet and partially decayed flesh like, well, a zombie.
It doesn't really look like her yet, she's too busy concentrating. That'll be... the next step, as long as nobody interrupts...
2: After all we're flesh 'n' blood
Frown on her face and brow furrowed, Tefe is concentrating hard on being here in this body and staying off the main thoroughfares while she tries it out. Something feels very very weird about the whole business in this world, and it's hard to keep from slipping back out of this body, as if pulled by an invisible tether back to the one she arived in. She takes one step after another and... oops.
Control slips and when her foot comes down on the pavement, the whole body just starts coming apart, skin sloughing off and bones protruding through muscle. Within a few seconds, she just comes apart into a rather messy pile of gore.
Help might be in order... or just give her a minute to get, uh, back there and reorganized.
3: Wild and an Untamed Thing
Improving over time, it's easier to access a body that won't cause much of a fuss. An old lady dies in her hospital bed, and... before anyone's the wiser, Tefé alters the body to look like, well, herself, and slips out the back.
Still in nothing but a hospital gown, shoeless, she can be found rummaging through a dumpster in the back alley, looking for something better to wear. Someone please help this dumb teenager to not show the world quite that much. Hospital gowns are the worst.
4: Wildcard!
Bodies show up in the weirdest places. Who knows where else she could show up -- either altering dead flesh to look like her usual self, or growing new flesh bones and organs in horrible tendrils of meat, accompanied by wet and fleshy noises if she needs to start almost from scratch.
5: Spooky Scary Skeletons! (CLOSED to Persephone)
In one case, a single skeleton in Persephone's lair, mysteriously far below ground... there is a sudden and disgusting shlupping noise, wet squishes and slurps of flesh forming around bones in curls and tendrils, recreating organs and muscle and skin. It isn't that growing the flesh is more difficult -- but Tefe's concentration keeps wavering, so there's a few stops and starts.
But after a solid couple minutes, there's finally a fully-formed young and familiar lady in the underground, who... well, first of all, she has no idea where the hell she is. And she happens to be completely naked. Just one more downside to being flesh and blood instead of a big broccoli -- she can't just grow a set of clothes.

5 of course
The upshot here is, once she has eyes to notice, Persephone is planted on a milk crate nearby with a bottle of wine in one hand and a slinky pink robe in the other. ]
Holy. Shit.

Hi. Uh. Where... is this exactly?
[She had a general sense -- she was searching, after all -- but underground like this, it's less clear.]
2 sry i had to
"WHAT THE HELL?!"
Riptide might've recognised her from the network, had he had more than a few more seconds to actually look at her before she fell apart.
"OH MY GOD, IS THIS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET OLD? I HATE THIS!! I HATE HUMANS!"
no subject
The process is fast but not really fast enough to not be disgusting. Tefe may have also reformed one arm outside of the shirt by accident, now sticking out awkwardly alongside her head from the neck hole. Well, it could have been worse, whoops.
"Don't freak out," she says, holding up her hands when she sees the guy staring. "It's fine. I'm fine. Just trying to, um," well, wiggle her arm back in her shirt for one thing, "...keep it together a bit longer."
no subject
"WHY DID THAT HAPPEN?! IS IT GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME??"
no subject
Staring at this strange display with pursed lips, she's actually not sure at all what to do. But a screaming guy drawing attention isn't great, especially when she's still having some trouble with the way this world works.
Tefe grabs his arm, and at least tries to yank him off into an alley with her, hissing, "It's not going to happen to you unless you ...don't shut up."
no subject
"I'm shutting up! I'm up shut!"
1
Then he turns.
Oh Jesus Christ.
"Don't come near me!" he yells at the zombie-thing, grabbing a law book from his bag and holding it out like it's a shield. He doesn't realize this is his roommate just yet, because, well, zombie. "I might look delicious but I will mess you up, don't you dare!"
no subject
Concentration gets her a bit further, with tendrils of new flesh growing from the rot, stringing the jaw back into place and starting to fill out the face a bit. It's still not much of an improvement in the looks department, honestly.
"...Sorry," come the words, slowly. "I didn't mean to... bother anyone... just borrowing this... for a minute..." Ugh, she's talking as slow as dad. Focus up.
no subject
He winces a little when he sees the sinew and tendrils growing back together. Ew, man. Just, ew.
Then the thing opens its new mouth, and Foggy lowers the law book, jaw gaping. "Tefé?" Why are you a zombie? Please stop being a zombie, his poor heart might give out on him. "Wait, you're—borrowing a corpse? Why would you need to borrow a corpse?" He needs to sit down.
no subject
Things were looking better for a minute there, but while it's not like the newly grown flesh decays on the spot or anything, she does fall over, doing a solid faceplant in the grass with her half-reconstructed body.
no subject
Of course not, someone who's very in-tune with nature probably wouldn't dig cars very much. Foggy sighs, stuffs the book away into his bag, and relaxes a little. Okay, it's Tefé. He's glad she's not dead, at least, he'd been about to go out looking for her, file a report with the police. But at the same time—
Well, jeez.
He steps closer, shucks off his jacket and folds it over one arm. Then he holds a hand out for Tefé to grab. "Come on, up. Where have you been, anyway? You missed all the fun at the house."
no subject
"Sorry. This was... so easy at home." When she wasn't fighting some irresistible force trying to drag her back. It sounds just awful, the way flesh slurps and shlups into place, but she's finally looking more like herself, white hair and all, when she grabs Foggy's hand and jerkily pulls herself back up. "What... fun?"
no subject
But seriously.
Ew, gross.
He hands her his jacket once she's steadier on her feet. "Yeah, Theon pissed off a few people," he says, in a tone that suggests everyone involved in this situation is an idiot, "and they reacted in a mature and rational fashion by egging the place. It's clean now, I swear, it just smells vaguely like egg."

--Shit, hey, full moon's not for a few more weeks! [she makes a big show of covering her eyes with her hand.] At least get a towel, come on!
no subject
She might still turn around with her back to the wall at the sudden voice though -- that kind of hides the worst of it. All things considered though, she doesn't seem that embarrassed, especially considering the following blunt request.]
I mean, if you've got a towel I'll take it, but I could really use a pair of pants right now.
no subject
I don't walk around an extra pair of pants-- [It's not a lie, per se, but it wouldn't be difficult for her to get one. It would just screw her later if she did.] but if you're real desperate I can at least dig up another hospital gown for you.
3
Coming into the alley, tall blonde Al, with the white gloves on, clears his throat, "Excuse me, miss, are you okay?"
He has no idea about this world. Maybe this is a thing people do!
3
still, he will be an adult about this ]
I'm sorry, are you alright? [ she probably isn't - a hospital is probably looking for her ]

It's when he's passing a graveyard that he hears a distant rumbling and groaning. "Ohh," he sighs, "that's never good." He detours into the graveyard to see what the hubbub is all about.
Where he comes face to face with a shambling zombie!
"Ohhhkay, hold it right there! Don't make me cast Turn Undead!"
