[Where one month ago D33 would have been lucky to get eight hours of sleep a week, let alone in one night, these past couple of weeks he's actually been feeling quite well-rested. He's also usually in Nonah sharing a bed with Kaneki Ken. For whatever reason ~~(I'm lazy and haven't come up with one)~~, that hasn't been the case these last few days, and insomnia has begun to plague D33 again. As of right now, he's reached the stage where his paranoia and irritation has evened out into a mild, dream-like state where he might do something like put toothpaste on his finger instead of his toothbrush or pour water onto his shoes just to see what it would feel like, but he isn't quite stacking furniture in front of his door or talking to shadow people yet.

[He's also feeling a bit more social than normal, apparently, and he knows that Archie will be awake. So, he's standing outside on the man's stoop, knocking lightly on his door with a half-eaten box of Twinkies tucked under his arm.]

[D33's jaw tightens a little at the question. He rolls his shoulders back, sits up a little straighter, moves his eye contact to a wall opposite him rather than Archie. So, yeah. It's clear that the question makes him a little uncomfortable. It's not so much that he's afraid of being revealing - again, he's so sleep-deprived at this point that his usual level of mistrust has all but gone out the window - but really, he's just not sure how to answer the question.]

I was born into a society which did so. [Not true. He knows that's not true. But it is what he's supposed to believe.] That is simply how I have always lived.

[More so every day, it seems. At least he can take some comfort in the fact that the world he came from can't possibly be any weirder than the one he's in now - worse, though. It could definitely be worse.

[He still looks a bit injured about the whole thing, though, as he glances to Archie and says:]

I do hope you will keep what I've told you between us.

[It's not exactly a threat, though with D33, it could probably be taken that way. He doesn't want to have to threaten Archie, though - as if doing so would even work in the first place. It would be nice to be able to actually just trust someone else for once. Whether or not D33 has that in him when he's gotten a full night's sleep, he's not sure. Either way, the damage is done.]

Even if I was intending to go blabbin' your secrets around, I wouldn't actually gain anything from it.

[he shrugs.]
