WHO: Kaneki and Gemini
WHERE: Far away from the city, in some woods
WHEN: Late August
WHAT: These two meet
WARNINGS: cannibalism, death
[ Kaneki has a coffee shop where he can eat, certainly, but in truth he doesn't usually take from his shop. Why? because kaneki is a binge-eater; a glutton. He eats far too much and would eat far too much to have enough for his store. while a ghoul can go well with a body a month, Kaneki often eats about two bodies, usually gotten from someone who might have... let's say, murderous tendencies.
Like March. March is a murderer and psychopath, but still a great host who gives Kaneki a lot, which he is very thankful for and that's how he has been living. After getting the bodies he needs, he often stays the night at March's hotel to eat and then packs a bag with the rest to eat the next day.
Today is that "next day", and Kaneki decides to leave the city and head into the woods to find a nice quiet spot where he can eat. He isn't a particularly neat eater, so there is a lot of blood and bits of flesh as he eats, as usual. And as usual Kaneki is rather glutton when eating, as if he is always hungry, always starving. Mostly because he is.
Kaneki is currently crouching down on the floor, munching on half of an arm. It's not really a pretty sight for most people. ]

Movement in the woods below caught her eye, and after a moment Gemini changed direction, descending so that she could have a better look at what was going on. It appeared to be a young man sitting eating...wait was that blood? Angling her wings to descend faster, viscera and bits of scattered flesh became clearer as she got closer, and that was definitely someone's arm being eaten. Perhaps she should have been horrified, but all Gemini could bring herself to feel was a mild disgust, but strangely fascinated at the same time.
Landing on a nearby branch, just a crow common in these woods, Gemini watched closely as Kaneki eats, black corvid eyes gleaming with interest.

So once again his attention shifts to continue eating the arm, eventually breaking it with his hands with a disgusting SNAP when the bone breaks. And after the goes exactly for the now expose bone, eating it as if it's nothing but a cracker ]

The crow jumped from the branch, and Gemini's booted feet hit the ground a moment later, and as she straightened she raised a calm eyebrow, eyeing the remains of the arm and Kaneki with a cool smile.]
Hungry much?

kaneki is quick to turn his eyes back at the woman and he just stays still. it's a bit like how wild animals caught in the act are - they stay still, stare, and wait for the other to make the first move.
Unlike wild animals, though, kaneki has no plans of running. ]
... You are the crow. You have been watching for a while. [ which means she is not someone who is about to run to the police crying that she saw a monster in the woods ]

Yes, and I have. [She admits freely. There's not much point in lying, so Gemini doesn't. There's no trace of horror in her expression or even repulsion, it's more like she's a scientist studying a particularly interesting specimen.]
"I've never seen anyone eat a human before. Is it something you do often?
no subject
The question isn't all that surprising. She doesn't look afraid, but kaneki decides to explain this softly ] It's something I have to do.
It's the only thing my species can eat.

[She repeats, saying little for the time being, just cocking her head and walking closer, stepping over a pool of blood with as much concern as if it were spilt milk.]
Your species?
no subject
[ he will also not mention he is an artificial ghoul. technically he was not born a ghoul ]
no subject
[Oh yes, definitely an opportunity here. Bodies are such inconvenient things to dispose of, and in Gemini's line of work she leaves a lot of them, which leads her to asking, almost casually.]
Where do you get them from? Did you kill that one yourself?
no subject
I can get them legally. The government provides them as necessary, from their labs. I don't kill. [ but this one he is eating was not provided nor legally acquired, oops. Which is why he is eating it in the middle of the woods ]
no subject
Do they? I wasn't aware the government made deliveries to the middle of the woods. [She says thoughtfully, putting a hand to her chin. Gemini's onto you Kaneki]
no subject
[ maybe. ]
I do mean it when I say I don't kill. I never killed a human to feed. But of course, there are many ways of getting what i need without having to. [ there are cemeteries, morgues... crime scenes ]
no subject
Of course. [She agrees smoothly.] But I imagine it can't be easy, as it happens I have a certain body problem myself. Dump them in the river and they often float back up again, incinerate them and there are people who have to be paid off, it's so very inconvenient...
[She trails off deliberately, her offer implicitly hanging there for Kaneki to grab if he wishes.]
no subject
Her talk just proves it further. ] Maybe you just aren't putting them in the right place. [ clearly.
kaneki has no interest on knowing WHY she is killing people. Or any interest in telling her she shouldn't do it ]
no subject
[She smiles, folding her arms and tapping her foot as if thinking, before saying, almost casually.]
Do you want them?
no subject
as long they aren't imPorts.
no subject
[She says simply. imPorts have the extremely irritating tendency to resurrect, if she ever needs to kill one there's little point in giving the body to Kaneki only for said imPort to return to life. In the meantime she gives him a slow satisfied nod to show her approval of that condition.]
Good. In return you don't discuss me or the bodies I leave with you with anyone period. Do we have an agreement?
no subject
Of course he doesn't say that. He smiles a little instead and nods ] We do, yes. It sounds good enough for me.
