[ kaneki's coffee shop will be closed until the 15th August because he isn't right. After eating two clones - one of them who was a friend's clone - Kaneki just spiraled down again and right it's impossible for him to focus on his coffee shop. Not when he feels bad, like he is being eaten inside, the very same way he hate those clones wearing imPort's faces; he isn't all that sure they were clones, however. In fact, he is still thinking things over.
What if they were the actual thing? What if it really was Jaime and Yusuke? He knows he should contact them, he should make sure it wasn't them, but he is afraid and not ready for that yet.
between all of this, he gets a text from Dio, asking for blood. Kaneki did say he'd provide it if his special customers needed it, so of course he goes to his shop to deliver. Inside, he opens a bottle of bloodwine, pouring a glass to Dio. Even if the ghoul looks like he just went through hell, he still smiles and pretends everything is fine. ]
So- how was your time with the clones? Did you have one?

So- how was your time with the clones? Did you have one?

no subject
Yes, unfortunately. From what I hear he had been causing trouble in De Chima with the zombies, but I never actually managed to meet him. I had been busy cleaning up Maurtia Falls, in all honesty.
That would have been quite the showdown though...
[It was a lie that he had a clone, but not a lie that he'd been helping with the robot menace of Maurtia Falls. The clones were just a convenient excuse to cause havoc.]
And you?
no subject
Kaneki hums softly as he hears the other and eventually he shakes his head at the question ] I haven't heard of an evil Kaneki Ken going around trying to eat people, so I believe that means I had no clone. Which is good. [ he can only imagine how that mess would go ]
At least things seem to be over, now.
no subject
[Perhaps for somewhat different reasons.
Dio sighs either way, leaning back in his seat and bringing the glass up to his lips, looking Kaneki over. He did look pretty tired, and no one likes drinking alone unless they were huge sadsacks, which Dio was not.]
Why don't you take a seat and indulge with me a bit? I love this 'bar patron/bartender' dynamic we have going, but it'd be nice to just chat as equals on the same side of a bar, right?
no subject
A lot.
So he smiles a little and with a sigh he moves around the counter to sit near Dio with a glass he brought for himself. And after, he pours some of the bloodwine so he can have a sip ]
Thank you. It has been a rough couple of days.
no subject
It sure has. Thankfully, it seems we're making a rather swift recovery. At least in Maurtia Falls, I admittedly don't have my hand on the pulse much elsewhere.
Truly, defeating those robots was a little exhilarating! I don't generally get to use my strength for anything in this world, and I was getting antsy. Feeling a little cooped up, you know?
no subject
At least you had fun, I guess. [ he smiles, a little. kaneki is very violent, but he doesn't quite like violence. ] You didn't have to deal with flooding and zombies.
no subject
No, I kept to Maurtia Falls. That's where I live, after all, and I couldn't very well leave it while it was under siege and while they were cleaning up the aftermath. One man cannot do everything and be everywhere.
Not even a very talented man like myself. We must choose our battles. The fact that I enjoyed stretching my muscles doesn't detract from that, you know?
[He would not pretend that he didn't enjoy fighting, but at the least he'd pretend not to be the sort to pick needless fights.]
no subject
Sure. I know what you mean. [ kaneki gets it why fighters would feel like this place is too restraining sometimes. He takes a sip from his drink thoughtfully, as he glances back to Dio ]
Are you one of those people who calls himself "superhero" back home? [ he tries not to mock. He gets it really, but "superhero" will always have a bit of a comic book connection to him ]
no subject
Oh, certainly not. [Dio shook his head, holding up a hand as he lifted the bloodwine to his lips again, taking a longer drink. Very nice stuff, really. Who would have thought of making blood alcoholic? Dio could honestly just mix the two, but always figured they were fine separately. Maybe in part because he usually drank blood fresh from the source.]
I'm a vampire. I can't be attracting that sort of attention. Flying about in spandex and rescuing kittens from trees. No, I just enjoy getting to use this old body when I get a chance. I worked very hard for it, after all.
[With that, Dio lifted his chin, pulling down the high collar of his shirt, exposing the scar that ringed his neck where he'd once been decapitated. He'd worked hard for this body in a very literal sense!]
no subject
Hm- plus spandex can get a bit... ridiculous. [ very. VERY ridiculous, kaneki has no idea how so many imPorts think that's one fine fabric and look when fighting.
when the man pulls down his collar, kaneki blinks, looking at the scar. He is a bit confused at first, so he has to ask -] Wait, that's not the body you were born with? [ ????????? what now????? ]
no subject
[Dio knew better than most that evil would prosper, even when faced with punishment. It might even grow stronger with such a consequence.]
Oh no. I lost my original body in a fight with some vampire hunters about a century ago. A hazard of my existence, you know?
no subject
He is fine with greys and whites too but - ]
Aha- I don't fight crime, so I don't really know much about that sort of thing. [ technically... isn't Kaneki a bad guy himself? Some would argue against that, but some would certainly agree. Regardless, it's not that important to Kaneki ]
Oh- I didn't know Vampires could do that. [ or survive that ] I'm sorry. Do you like this body, at least? [ kaneki is not going to ask Dio where he got it, it's better this way and he isn't drunk enough for that. Yet ]
no subject
I'm not like most vampires, in all fairness.
[He's sure many people say that about their 'things',but in Dio's case? Well, what other vampires can shoot something like lasers from their eyes, have prehensile, tentacle-like veins, and drink primarily with their fingers? He's only using his mouth out of politeness. Sticking his finger in a cup is just rude and something he'd do after getting drunk.]
Oh yes. It's quite close to my original. And it holds some sentimental value. [Nothing is quite as sentimental as wearing your rival/adopted brother's body after you murder him on his honeymoon. Not that Dio would go so far as to say that. Kaneki seemed like a nice boy, and that would hardly go over well with a nice boy.]
no subject
Kaneki hums, taking a sip from his drink. There were no vampires in his world, so it's not like he can tell what a vampire is like, usually - heck, Kanaya is a vampire too and she has alien to the mix. So in the end, there are many different vampires from many different worlds and each does something different.
He does appreciate not listening to the whole murder story, though ] There is that, at least. Being close to what you are used to makes it easier.
no subject
Dio polishes off his drink easily, setting the glass down and licking at his lips just a little. Honestly, he hadn't met any other vampires here, but the media he's consumed had every vampire turning into bats or drinking the blood of virgins or whatever. They were also generally trashy romance novels if he was reading on vampires in all fairness, but Dio was still very unlike them.]
Also, it makes my head fit on the body much better! Hah!
[After a short bark of laughter, Dio offers his glass to Kaneki.]
Another round. Gotta say, this is some good stuff. I usually just choke down the taste of alcohol in order to enjoy myself, but this is infinitely more pleasant!
no subject
Kaneki smiles and nods, reaching for the bloodwine bottle and pour more to Dio and to top his own glass to follow along ]
Aha, ghouls are pretty crafty. Since our diet doesn't vary much, we had to make most of it. [ and bloodwine is one of the many things ghouls came up with. They can also make desserts and other dishes. ] I'm glad I managed how to make this, it's not the easiest thing, at first. [ now he's an expert of sorts, but then again, he's the only person in this world making Bloodwine ]
no subject
Dio smiles as he watches the bloodwine being poured, then closing his eyes and sucking in a long breath with his nose to capture that scent. Truly wonderful. Two of his great vices in one.]
I suppose that is fair. My diet is limited as well. I cannot digest anything solid, it just makes me ill, though I can enjoy most liquids. I've truly come to love whiskey for recreational use. But it doesn't really sate me, you know?
[He sighed, shrugging then. Not much sated him these days. He'd gone 92 years starving at the bottom of the ocean and had been binge-eating since he'd gotten free, only to end up here a few years later, where that was not an option.]
It's quite mind-boggling to think of the foods I'm missing out on. So much has been changed or invented since I turned about a hundred years ago. Really, so much. In my youth, we only had horse-drawn carriages and oil lamps, and now we've electric lighting, and these... mh... these absolute works of art, marvels of modern engineering, so-many-horsepower having... vehicles. [Getting the feeling that he really likes cars yet? That's natural.]
And I can't drive either.
...Anyway. What other kinds of things can you make?
no subject
Aha, technology is always changing and people are always adapting. Honestly, I don't know much about ghouls to tell you when bloodwine was invented but... it seems that has been around for a long time, at least. [ one of the pleasures to add to a ghoul's pleasure, he supposes ] You should learn how to drive, it's useful. [ even a ghoul is saying that, so it really is ]
Hm- well. [ kaneki reaches for the menu on top of the counter. It changes everyday, but it's an example of what he can do. ] I can make soup. I can also make a sort of parfait with fat, grinded bone, and coagulated blood. I used to make a dish with teeth too, but not many people eat it- [ kaneki does, kaneki can literally eat every single part of a human. Even the hair ] I do "sugar" cubes, which have dried blood and bone.
[ kaneki takes a sip of his blood after, thinking for a moment. ] I put them in my coffee when no one is watching. Last time that happened a human friend of mine took a sip... it was kind of freaky to watch.
no subject
I wouldn't know where to start on learning how to drive. [Besides, he got around quite quickly on his own... But he did like cars a lot.]
Hah! A human friend of yours drank your blood and bone coffee, huh? I can only imagine. Though I suppose that'd teach them not to just drink another person's beverage.
[He closed his eye for a moment, picturing it in his mind. Hilarious. He pulled the cup up to his lips again, continuing to drink his own bloodwine and savoring the taste and attempting to imagine what those described dishes might look like. How perfectly ghastly.]
Say, Kaneki, when we're done drinking here, why don't we go out and have some fun?
no subject
At the suggestion, kaneki hums. He isn't good at going out and having fun, Kaneki doesn't even know how people do it usually. ]
We can't bring the bloodwine bottle along. [ probably? ]
no subject
Ah, the dramatic irony of a human cannibalizing their own unknowingly! [Dio had never read Hannibal, but no doubt would have found it amazing.]
Of course we can bring it along. You're open about your diet, I'm not hiding anything, and I know a few good places in Maurtia Falls that won't pay attention. Let's go! Let's have fun! We could go to a club, get in a dance or three, bar hop! I can drink the whiskey and you've got the bloodwine, yeah?
[Kaneki could probably use a lap dance or something anyway, and Dio was bored.]
no subject
Ah- I've never been to a dance club. [ not an actual dance club, but - ] a friend actually took me to a stripbar to celebrate my birthday, but I think I'm not really good at those places. [ and kaneki actually goes red at that. Last time he was there, he actually got a really embarrassing erection. ]
I think I've told you I'm boring.
no subject
That's alright. I'm fun enough for the both of us! [He laughed a little at that. It didn't bother him at all that Kaneki was 'boring'. In fact, that just made the prospect of taking ihm dancing or to a strip club that much more fun!]
So let's do it. You could probably use a night out, what do you say?
no subject
R-right... I guess I could. [ why not? It could be a bit of a distraction from all that happened during the clone attack ] I don't know any interesting places, though. [ Dio has to lead, certainly ]
no subject
I've got you covered. Bring the bottle along. We're going to have to walk though, I've no idea how to operate a motor vehicle, and I think it's illegal to do so while drinking?
[At that, Dio slid off of his seat, standing up with a stretch. He hadn't gone out himself in awhile, and it had been alone the last few times. Somehow, Dio Brando wasn't great at making friends. Weird, right?
He looked Kaneki up and down for a moment then, scrutinizing.]
Someday, I'll have to get you something to dress up in. Black on black is cool if you're going to some 'alternate' club, but you could definitely stand to put some shine in your clothing~
no subject
He nods softly and grabs the bottle as told, and he doesn't mind walking at all. But when Dio mentions his clothes, he has to ask: ]
What do you mean, shine? I would... prefer not to look like Elvis Presley.
no subject
Yes, shine! A little glitz and glamour! But no, no Elvis, not to worry.
[Dio preferred a more '80's Glam Rock' style. Come to think of it, Kaneki would look cute in makeup too, wouldn't he? Hmmm... Dio placed a hand on his chin, looking at the young man to his side as if trying to picture what would suit him the best.
His white hair was pretty perfect, along with the whole eye patch thing.]
Don't worry so much.
no subject
I don't have any clothes like that. [ and is that even necessary, he wonders. When he notices Dio looking at him, Kaneki's cheeks gain a bit of color, a little embarrassed ] Er- alright...?
no subject
He smiled as he noted the way Kaneki's cheeks turned redder. Yes, he was very cute. Dio decided that as he finished up his assessment.]
No, and therein lies the problem! You dress like you're going to a funeral!
[Dio laughed easily at that, wrapping an arm around Kaneki once more and pulling him close against his side, tugging him along with him.]
Some other time though. Tonight we'll enjoy ourselves and worry about your wardrobe later.
no subject
Probably for the best, I don't think clothing shops are open right now. [ it's really late, after all. And Kaneki is certain dio will forget about the clothes soon enough ]
Uhm- lead the way, I suppose.
no subject
And Kaneki was right to think that Dio would likely forget about his crusade to get him clothing. After all, he was right, most places would be closed now, and Dio was a busy man who could not go out in even the slightest sunlight.]
You've got it.
[At that, Dio just dragged Kaneki along, taking him all the way along to Maurtia Falls. It always took a little too long, but it was so worth it. The first place they'd hit up was a night club, good for drinks and dancing. Time to start the night off right!
Dio ordered whiskey as he said he would, the stopped time and used his Stand to swipe another glass for Kaneki. No one would notice or miss it, for sure! Though Dio's new dance partner here might find it a little weird that a glass would appear in his hand where it was empty less than a second ago.]
Right, let's get you drinking until you're loose enough to join me on the dance floor!
no subject
it's probably the first time kaneki has been to one of those (apart from the stripclub) and he sure doesn't know how to dance (only waltz, and he supposes he won't be dancing waltz here). But for now they are sitting down, so that's good. Kaneki is a bit awkward with the bottle in his hand, while refusing the bar.tender and tries to explain he can't have anything else but this. He even apologizes, of course!
When he feels the glass, kaneki blinks, turning to Dio after ]
I only know how to dance waltz, though. [ he admits to that, deciding not to think too hard about the glass and pouring some of the bloodwine there ] it's not a a dance meant for a night club, right? [ when an awkward smile he takes a big sip of his drink ]
no subject
[He's actually fairly surprised that the people he's met here that he'd attempted to dance with have both known how to waltz and little else. He was so used to just moving with the music... generally while rubbing his body up against his dance partner.
But if he had to get him to loosen up a little, then a waltz would be fine too.]
Or I could show you how to dance at a night club. [With that suggestion, Dio quirked an eyebrow, then pulling his brand new glass of whiskey up to his lips, downing most of it in one go as if he didn't taste it at all.]
no subject
You mean "step on your feet all the time." [ he takes a drink, but he isn't that quick to finish it like dio is ] I've two left feet. That's the saying, right? [ he doesn't remember. Maybe it's the alcohol which is helping him to mellow out at least. Kaneki isn't going to argue against that feeling, though. ]
How do you dance?
no subject
Dio nodded his head to a side then as he waved a hand.]
Come on, let me show you! You won't learn anything just sitting here.
no subject
What should I do?
no subject
Just keep close to me, and forget about everyone else here. [Dio could knock them out of the way anyway, and he certainly wouldn't feel bad for it. He kept hold of Kaneki's hand, his other arm going to hook around his waist, almost seeming like he was intending to try that waltz, but no. The dancing that he had learned from these clubbing experienced had no rhyme or reason to it, but at least he hadn't immediately started grinding on his friend.
He felt like it might be a little early for that. Not because he wasn't interested, more because he wanted Kaneki to feel more comfortable moving around in a crowd first.]
And like I said! [He had to yell above the music and the crowd a little.] Don't worry about stepping on my feet! Just let the music take you!
no subject
He looks down at their feet and bodies and hands, and manages to hear Dio, looking up right after and nodding with a tiny smile ]
Don't regret it after. [ if Dio manages to hear him or not, it doesn't matter much. kaneki starts moving along with him, bodies close, and holding hands and his worry is to NOT bump into anyone now ]
no subject
You will not accidentally do anything more awful to me than anyone else has done on purpose.
[And that much was true, even with super strength. If he managed to shatter Dio's foot, he'd be fine. That was a quick recovery.
Dio was smiling the whole while, really enjoying just having someone to go out with him, though Kaneki might begin to notice that his hand was wandering over his body, running up his side while he kept him near just by holding his hand.]
no subject
Then he realizes the hand, but he doesn't think about it because it could be that his hand just slipped OF COURSE THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED. probably. probably not. kaneki doesn't have the courage to ask, but he does glance at dio's hand - well, he tries ]
no subject
Theeere you go, you're getting it.
[As he praised Kaneki, his arm wrapped around his waist and began to rub gently at his back, hand moving up and down his spine. It was beginning to make dancing like this a little difficult. Still, you'd hear no complaint from Dio, who was truly enjoying himself.]
no subject
Ah- wait- there is- [ sensitive. Dio's hand is wandering a bit too much for what kaneki is used to, and now the poor guy isn't sure what to even do or say. His face is bright red and he is a bit too surprised ]
no subject
What is it?
[Dio's brows raise, and his hand rests on the small of Kaneki's back. He's smirking the whole time, looking rather sure of himself as he notices how red Kaneki's face was.]
Would you like more of a back rub, my friend?
no subject
the hand is pressing right against the area where Kaneki's kagune comes from, and until now he never thought much about it, but as Dio touches him it feels... strange. kaneki can't explain it. ]
It... comes from there- [ his hand manages to reach for Dio's arm, squeezing it ] What are you doing? [ he looks up again. This is SO embarrassing, Dio, what are you doing ]
no subject
I'm trying to have a good night out, and hoping that you are too. Is there something wrong with that?
[He feels the way Kaneki squeezes his arm, but he's still not entirely sure what the younger man feels about this whole thing.]
Would you prefer that I didn't? I think you could use some relaxation, is all. That's why I took you out this night. For some fun, and to unwind.
no subject
The ghoul's face is red, he is slightly dizzy from the drinks, also feels rather hot, Dio is really close, and his hand is still touching his lower back, right where the Kagune comes out ] But if you touche there... [ the kagune might come out. It's a good thing Kaneki has his eyepatch, too, because his eye is probably reacting by now. Not just his eye, actually.
Kaneki is unbelievably sensitive since he is rarely touched - and certainly not touched like that. he shivers at the fingers and eventually he presses his forehead against Dio's chest once more ] That place is sensitive... [ he finally admits to it ]
no subject
Yeah...? Do you like how it feels when I touch there, or would you rather I stop?
[He was continuing for now, nails very gently raking down his back. Not enough to leave any marks or even tear any clothing, just enough to tease. He leaned his head in as far as he could in order to lower his voice to speak only to Kaneki. It was still a little loud, just to speak above the music, but this way it'd keep any others from hearing.]
I can touch you wherever you'd like.
no subject
But Dio is touching there and eventually he will feel it - something moving under Kaneki's skin. The kagune doesn't come out yet (after all, kaneki still has some sort of control. So he hopes), but his skin will soon break if Dio keeps touching the place, and maybe the kagune will come out ]
I don't know - I don't know where... [ where else to touch kaneki, he means ]
