WHO: Jonathan Walsh and Jacob Taylor
WHERE: Heropa, down the street from the warehouse where Jonathan's clone is keeping abductees
WHEN: July 27th
WHAT: Jonathan and Jacob are taking down Clone!Jonathan
WARNINGS: N/A
It took time, but between information the police found, as well as some of Jonathan's own searching, the location where his clone was keeping the abductees was pinpointed. It was an old, abandoned warehouse in an area that didn't see as much use as it once did, making it the perfect spot for the clone to operate without being caught. Once Jonathan knew where they needed to go, he coordinated with Jacob to come up with a place and time to meet, in an alley down the street from the warehouse, so they could sneak in and take his clone by surprise.
Jonathan was there, a crowbar in hand (both a useful tool for getting into the warehouse and a weapon, all in one!), waiting for Jacob. He was tense, wanting to keep out of sight in case his clone should be out and about, wanting to rush in to get this over with, while dreading the possibilities of what could happen once he did. He'd just have to wait for Jacob to get there, and then things would go...however they'd go.

Jacob tilted his head as he approached, taking in Jonathan's gear- or lack thereof. Jacob himself was wearing sleek-looking white and grey armour, complete with gloves, boots, helmet, and utility belt stuffed with useful items, with some kind of energy ray holstered at his hip. Jonathan had a crowbar. One of these people was better prepared for a raid than the other.
"You look like you could use some extra firepower." He dug into his utility belt, came up with a small canister of pepper spray. "You know how to use one of these?"

Jonathan saw nothing wrong with his idea of 'raiding gear', which was just normal clothes and a crowbar. As far as he was concerned, they were just setting out to capture one reptilian, so it shouldn't be too big of a deal. Not that he wouldn't accept the extra firepower, especially since it wasn't literal firepower.
He looked at the canister for a moment.
"It looks pretty straightforward. I point it at the other guy and just push down here?" he asked, pointing where he'd have to push down.

"Once we're in there, one of us should distract the clone while the other gets the civilians out," he suggested. "Do you think you can talk to this guy, or should I just take him down?"
no subject
"I can definitely talk to him. Believe me, distraction is what I do best."
And he even had the advantage here. He knew how he thought, and while this clone had a very different background than he did, Jonathan suspected there had to be some similarities.

With that, he sets off toward the entrance to the warehouse. Jonathan will be able to see a faint purple glow appearing around him: a protective barrier Jacob is able to put up around himself in times of danger. When he gets to the door, he's kicking that sucker right in.

"Wow, that was loud," he commented.
Inside, Jacob could see a very old and very large warehouse floor. There was a line of pillars a few yards in, along the entire side of the building they came in at, as well as an identical line of pillars on the opposite side of the room. All the way down, chained by the ankle to the three pillars farthest from the entrance, were the three abductees. It seemed that the clone had given each of them mattresses, blankets, and an assortment of various tools and objects.
Up until Jacob had kicked the door opened, they had been focusing on getting something out of some sort of contraption the clone had fashioned by welding a bit of pipe onto a metal box, although the pipe was too narrow for them to get their hands into. However, when they heard Jacob kick in the door, their attention seemed to divert to the source of the sound.
Between them and the door, however, stood Jonathan's clone, in all his reptilian glory. It seemed he had decided to take off his skin suit at some point, showing off his green scaled appearance as it truly was. In his hands he held a notebook and pen, but when he heard the door get kicked in he froze for a second, before calmly setting down the notebook, then walking over to one of the pillars and picking up a thick, heavy bit of pipe.

It didn't matter. Jacob got down to business. "You're under arrest," he curtly informed the clone. "Drop the pipe and come with us. You already know Jonathan here," he finished dryly, looking over to Jonathan and nodding.
"Like we talked about. It's all you now." With that, Jacob split away from Jonathan and headed toward the furthest pillars. He'd leave the two reptilians to handle things and focus on the rescue- unless Jonathan ended up needing help with his evil twin.

He certainly didn't sound sorry. Jonathan, keeping his crowbar lowered, casually started walking toward his clone, not getting too close, but enough that he'd be more solidly the focus of his clone's attention.
"Hey, there, good looking," the real Jonathan greeted. "I'm sorry, but I'm not really sure what I should call you. I'd call you Jonathan, but that might get confusing. Do you have an alterna--"
"Actually," the clone interrupted, "I was just going to use your name, and laugh while you deal with the fallout of my actions. Now that you're here, though, I could just take your place completely."
"Yeah..." Jonathan cringed, "That doesn't really work for me."
That was when the clone noticed the direction Jacob was heading in. "What is he--" started the clone, looking over at Jacob, when Jonathan decided to rush up to the clone in an effort to keep his attention.
It worked, as the clone's focus snapped right back toward Jonathan, and almost as a reflex, he swung the pipe at Jonathan. Fortunately, Jonathan saw the pipe coming, and raised his crowbar, managing to block the blow.
"Look," Jonathan said, "I totally get why you're doing this. Believe me. I just wanted to get to you before anyone else did, because it is not safe for clones who cause trouble."

There was no time to be distracted by that now, though. The civilians took priority, and he knelt by them once he got to the pillars, tugging experimentally at the chains binding their ankles. "Are any of your hurt?" He asked them. "My name's Jacob. Don't worry- I'm going to get you out of here."

One of the victims shook her head. "No," she said, "Just hungry. He kept giving us weird puzzles we have to solve if we want to eat. Said he just wanted to see how we'd solve them."
In the mean time, Jonathan was struggling with his clone.
"Sorry," said the clone, "But there are things I'm far more afraid of than you imports."
And with that the clone pulled back the pipe before swinging it at Jonathan, cracking him hard in the ribs. Jonathan's cry echoed through the large, empty room. The clone raised the pipe again, cracking it down on Jonathan's back. Jonathan went with the movement, letting it bring him to the ground.
The clone smirked. "Well, that was--"
Jonathan hooked the crowbar around his clone's leg and pulled. Hard. The clone hit the ground with a loud thud.

"But for now, get ready to run for the door once you're loose. Don't wait for me." He was going to stick around and make sure Jonathan handled the clone. He looked up when he heard the cry and then the thud, concerned, but relaxed when he saw which one had fallen. Jonathan was tougher than he looked, it seemed. Hopefully he could hold out until Jacob was done freeing the kidnapped people.

In the mean time, Jonathan decided to take advantage of the fact that he'd managed to get his clone on the ground, and, after tucking the crowbar into his belt to free up his hands, he half crawled up the clone's body before attempting to grab the clone's wrists. Not that it was easy, as his clone kept squirming and slipping his wrists out of Jonathan's grip.
"Come on," said Jonathan, "Are you sure you want to fight me? You have to be curious about me. What I'm like. I'm the only other member of your species you've met."
"Oh, I am curious," confirmed the clone. "Maybe after I slip away, I'll track you down. Kidnapping you will be far more interesting than kidnapping those guys."
And one of the clone's hands slipped free of Jonathan's grip once more, and he reached up to grab Jonathan's hair, pulling. Of course, since it wasn't real, Jonathan just pulled back, letting his hair rip away from his scalp and exposing a large patch of green scales.
"Oh, well now that's just rude," Jonathan commented.
Taking advantage of Jonathan's momentary distraction, the clone lunged up, flipping their positions and shoving Jonathan to the ground.

They were too close together for Jacob to safely zap the bad one. Even though his stunner was nonlethal, rendering his own ally unconscious was the kind of thing he generally tried to avoid on a mission. So he used his biotics instead, throwing a ball of bright blue energy at the clone.
"Get over here!"
If the Pull attack struck home, it would render the clone weightless for about fifteen seconds, levitating him into the air to drift back towards Jacob.

"Don't move. Jonathan, you okay?"
no subject
"Yeah, I'm fine," said Jonathan, feeling his ribs where the clone had hit him. "I think my ribs are bruised, but I'm fine."

He took a pair of flexible handcuffs out from his utility belt with his free hand, and tossed them to Jonathan. The stun-gun never wavered from where it was pointed at the clone's head.
"Cuff him. I'll keep him covered."
no subject
"So, uh...what are we going to do with him?" Jonathan asked as he tightened the cuffs. "Do the clones go to normal jail? Do they get the native sentences, or the import sentences?"
How did this even work?
no subject
"I've got no idea," he admitted. "It's not like we've ever had to deal with killer clones before. Hopefully they'll put him away instead of giving him probation. But I'm just glad we cleaned this up without anyone getting hurt."
He looked at Jonathan and gave him a respectful nod. "You did good."
no subject
"Maybe I'll call and check up on what they're doing with the clones in a few days. Once this is all sorted out," Jonathan said. "And thanks."
The clone, deciding he wanted one last chance to lash out, raised his foot and attempted to stomp down hard on Jacob's foot.
no subject
"Nice try, but my costume can stand up to a lot worse than that," he said. "By the way, once you're in prison, you might want to stop skipping leg day. That was kind of weak."

The real Jonathan, in the mean time, got the door for them.
