Just close your eyes, the sun is going down
WHO: Cu Chulainn, Rin and Archer.
WHERE: Varying. House #007 to start, date, then house #003
WHEN: Feb 14 evening
WHAT: In an attempt to brighten Rin's spirits, Lancer tries to take her out for a special evening. But when they get back, things get a little awkward.
WARNINGS: Prepare for the diabetus
[What was this feeling?
Timing the distance to a moment, Cu Chulainn materialized a good ways down the humble walkway to house 007 and easily fell into a patient gait. The distance gave him enough time to pull out a cigarette and, one rune later, light it before stuffing his fists into his pocket.
The purpose for the distance was two fold. One so he could grab a quick smoke. But also to gain a few moments to muse on his suddenly fluttering stomach. What could be causing it? And why was he getting so worked up over something so trivial?
All he was going to do was see if Rin was in a better mood and offer to treat her to a bite to eat. So what was with this sudden rush of what...anticipation? Oddly enough it was comparable to the feeling that rushed through him before a battle.
Maybe because there was a very real chance she would say no? Really, could that be it? Was all it took for him to get worked up was just a girl who can tell him no? Well, its never happened before. And Cu Chulainn has taken out a lot of women in his time.
A lot.
Maybe it was the possibility of failure that made the idea of this plan so tantalizing.
As he approached the entrance to her place, he quickly dropped the last third of his smoke and ground it into dust with a quick tap of his foot before giving the door a good solid three raps.
Hmmm. In hindsight he probably should have called ahead...
But this was a surprise. And girls like surprises, right?]

Not her best move, but impulsive decisions were becoming the norm for her.
Perhaps the excuse is that if she dresses up nice, some guy who also has been dumped by his lover on this day will cross paths with her and they'll skip off for a candlelit dinner on their private yacht while he showers her with various riches. Not only that, she's bored enough to start trying on the gift Kirei left her, so when there's a sudden knock on the door, she's rushing to answer it with cat ears still atop her head. ]
Huh--Lancer? [ Is he here for Kirei? ] The priest isn't here today.
[ Which is more insulting than she cares to let on. If Kirei Kotomine could have Valentine plans, why can't she? ]
no subject
It can honestly be said that in no way was this what he expected.]
You've got cat ears...
[After a moment his patented smirk returns, and he brushes one hand through his lengthening bangs.]
My my, Rin. You're looking cute today. I didn't know you had this side to you.
Heh, not that's there's anything wrong with this. You should just be more mindful when greeting company.
no subject
He's out on a date or something.
[ Which is more horrifying to her than being caught wearing kitty ears. ]
no subject
[He tilts his head to the side in a rather canine expression of confusion.]
You've got to be joking... That's a horrifying prospect.
[A knowing smile returns and he lifts head to strike a mock-sagely pose.]
But, I suppose everyone needs a little comfort now and again, even a fake priest. Regardless, I haven't come here seeking his companionship.
no subject
Yeah, then what do you want? [ Smoothing the fritz of her hair with one hand as she pointedly waves the cat ears at him with the other. ] I was doing very important Hero business and can't waste anymore time just standing around entertaining you.
Plus Kirei said you're not allowed inside.
no subject
Tch. [That bastard was making a truce really hard.]
Well then I guess you're too busy to be treated to a free meal. Though maybe I can just hang around and watch this 'hero business' of yours. Seems like fun.
no subject
[ Another huff as she looks off to the side. The idea of a free meal is nice and she's admittedly missed eating good. It feels as if this is the greatest sin to commit against her Archer, but since they are no longer acknowledging each other, it'd be okay to do this. ]
I could tell you about it over dinner, I suppose.

I have something a little outside the norm planned.

[ Now she has her suspicions and with it, her guard inches higher and higher. Rin's not a person who lets people in easily and spontaneous acts only unnerve her more. She's quick to adapt, but there's still a reluctance initially. ]
Like... what? What are you planning to do with me, Lancer?
AFTER THE DATE
Stupid, stupid--
[ --he finds himself muttering here and there. He shouldn't care. He's a hero; he really shouldn't care about one young woman's plight.
At half past ten, he finally snaps. He can't take it any longer. The thought of Rin alone and miserable is too much of an eternal torment for him. Of course, by that time, almost everything in this small town is closed.
Fortunately, gas station convenience stores still exist. ]
Stupid. Really stupid.
[ And that's how, at 11:42 at night, Archer ends up pacing in agitation in front of his own residence in house #003, frantically checking the network to try to determine where Rin's residence is, with a small, slightly dented cardboard box of chocolates in one hand. ]

The bottle clenched within that fist, on top of the rosy cheeks and his level of volume pretty clear indicators of his state of mind.
As they pulled up to the far side of courtyard the small engine rattled and died, stopping them suddenly and provoking a burst of boisterous laughter.]
See. I told you we'd make it back on this tank!
[Using the full extent of his handicapped grace he gently extracts himself from the bike and helps Rin dismount as well.]
Come on, you have to admit I have at least a B in Riding. Maybe a C+. At least when it comes to vehicles!
[Again an alcoholic guffaw escapes him as he throws his arm around his companion and makes to head inside when someone catches his eye and he points.]
Huh? ...it Archer.

[ The talk of Lancer's riding skill is long forgotten in favor of looking towards the man she told to stay away from her. What was he doing here? Did he use Clairvoyance to find them and now they were going to fight? ]
I'll handle it, Lancer.
