Come bother a Rival?
WHO: Nikolai and YOU!
WHERE: All over the place, Heropa 002.
WHEN: The day after this, until July 13th
WHAT: Nikolai's either: at home, or out and about, or feeding his pokemon.
WARNINGS: Will be updated as needed, but implied animal death, and a giant vampire-bat in two of the prompts.
1; In the house - Open to housemates and anyone that would have a reason to be there.
[If he's not outside away from the house, then he's inside, either watching TV, studying/reading, eating - or complaining about not being able to find X food thing from his world, though he's probably found plenty of substitutes- or various other things like hogging the couch or sorting though his new clothes or whatever.
Annoy him? Bother him? talk to him? Pester him? The choice is yours.]
2; Out and about - OPEN; all over the Porter Cities.
A)
[What's a better way to cure boredom - and get his mind off a few Things - than to go exploring. Naturally he's exploring everywhere he can, be it Heropa, or one of the other Porter Cities.
He thinks it'll take him days to just find his way around the places and find all the interesting things to do in this Dumb World, but he's not complaining. Part of being a travelling trainer is about seeing new places and all that jazz. Plus, it's something to do other than study and 'volunteer' at the stupid animal shelter, and things to look at he doesn't want to inflict violence upon.
Though some of the things he's finding truly are bizarre by his standards, and he is going to stare at them whenever he finds them.] Well, that's dumb. Why would they do something like that?
[There are probably many things he could say that about.]
B)
[Of course, exploring has another meaning, too. He's looking for pokemon - even going so far as to look in dumpsters- and he's not finding any.
It all adds up to very frustrated Nikolai.] Come on! Where are they?
3; Feeding his pokemon - OPEN; all over the Porter Cities.
A)
[Even in this world, he still has to feed them, and at least two of them are easy enough. One he can even go to the butcher's for and get animal blood - the real stuff. He typically visits around closing time, and typically feeds the golbat in an out of the way corner of a park.
Mostly because giant blood-sucking bat, and he knows not everyone is used to watching a golbat feed, even if it is from a container.] Hmph. Here you go. Drink up.
[The golbat is more than happy too, and Nikolai is more than happy to keep watch while the pokemon gorges itself on blood.]
B)
[Every otherish afternoon when he's not 'volunteering' at the animal shelter he was assigned to, or studying or whatever, he can be found somewhere where there's water; river, lake, bay, beach. Take your pick.
He has a giant crocodile to feed, and he's not shy about letting it hunt when possible. For its part, the croc just seems happy to be in the water - or basking in the sun for a bit while Nikolai keeps a watchful eye out. With no worthy trainers around, he supposes he can let the croc enjoy the sun for a time.]
C)
[It's much, much harder to feed a haunter, but not impossible and Niko's never been shy about what it eats. While most nights he just walks around one of the Porter Cities with the haunter a few feet away from him as it takes a bite out of the life-energy of random animals, every three or so nights, he can be found letting the ghost hunt an animal or two.
It's not a pleasant sight, what with the haunter either chasing the poor critter, or licking it so it won't stop shaking until it dies. Nikolai trails after his pokemon, bag in hand. Like, he's not going to waste the meat thank you very much.
It's useful, and he can feed it to his feraligatr later or something. At the same time, he's not going to allow the ghost to go after humans, and if it does start to do that, well - Nikolai's command is sharp and curt and directed at the ghost and he walks towards it.] Get back here.

:T
[As long as the arcanine stays where it is, everything is Fine.]
8]
[Blue shrugs, while Arcanine remains steadfastly in front of his trainer.] So what, you're gonna challenge him for revenge? You won't win. You couldn't even beat many Gym Leaders, the way you are now.
Re: 8]
[...All legit. I mean, his win streak is heavily implied to be basically that of a protag.]
Re: 8]
A-huh. From Johto. The wimpier region of the Indigo League, hah! I mean, they have a Normal-type Gym. Doesn't get much wimpier than that!
[dat Miltank tho] Look here, kid. I wouldn't even let you battle me unless you had all of our badges. And I'm stronger than the Elite Four!
[But Red was on another level entirely, not that he'd ever say it out loud. This kid wouldn't stand a chance.]
BATTLE GET?
R I P Niko - and yes, that is his theme starting to get louder.]
bless lazarus
I told you, kid, I wouldn't battle you for real unless you were actually strong! [Blue grins, hands shoved in his pockets. He begins to step back, though, give them some space.]
But if you wanna get squashed so bad... Let's show 'im, Arcanine!
ARK! [The dog Pokémon barks, facing Niko off tall and proud as it perks up, ready to battle.]
<3
NikoBlue.Even so, he's grabbing a pokeball from his belt, and releasing his feraligatr. It appears with a roar and a chomp or two of its jaws.] Hose it down with Water Gun!
[No sooner had he said the order when a decently powerful stream of water shot out of the pokemon's mouth.]
wow my link totally dropped in the last tag HERE, MUSIC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkjhKf9ZusU
[He remembered that this kid had a Feraligatr, but he made no move to switch his Pokémon. Arcanine takes the Water Gun hit straight on and slides back from the force of the spray, growling and shaking itself off. Despite the hit, Blue seems totally unbothered by the prospect of facing a Water-type, arms crossed casually.] Arcanine, make it a Sunny Day!
[With a howl, Arcanine stands its ground and forms a ball of light at the tip of its snout, which shot up into the air over them. Suddenly, the heat and intensity of the sun bore down onto them, making the already hot summer day even more intense. The heat sizzled down onto the sidewalk, quickly evaporating the water from Feraligatr's Water Gun and helping Arcanine dry off much more quickly.] ...Is that all you got?
[That Feraligatr looked like it had a lot of potential to be a powerful opponent, but with Niko's poor training... He tsks. Wasted on a kid like this. And besides, he would soon learn that Blue's talent in battle strategy was nothing to scoff at- even with a type disadvantage.]
:< /smacks gmail and html into being nice.
Oh well.]Scary Face, then Bite!
[Again, the pokemon is quick to obey the commands; whatever Niko's training style, at least he's made sure his pokemon obey as fast as they can.]
Me2
[He allows both attacks to come so that Arcanine could move second this time, allow the Feraligatr to come in close and attach itself to Arcanine so it couldn't get away. Jaws that strong could be a double-edged sword.] Arcanine, show 'im your secret weapon! Thunder Fang!
[Although Arcanine had yelped at the Bite attack through the thick protective ruff of fur at its neck, it growls lowly at the command, jaws open and crackling with electricity as it counters by lunging for the gator's own shoulder, an easy catch so close to it like this. Arcanine scores a point-blank, super-effective attack as it bites down into Feraligatr's hide with its electrified fangs.]
no subject
There's a roar of pain as electricity courses though its body. Pokemon or not, that hurts, and the feraligatr is soon down for the count, faintly twitching.] Worthless pokemon!
[It's returned without another word, his haunter sent out. He has to win, and he's going to.] Mean Look, then Lick!
no subject
Hey, you know there's no way you're gonna win, right? Even your strongest Pokémon couldn't cut it with an advantage. [Blue smirks, crossing his arms.] You're just gonna get your Pokémon hurt this way.
But hey, your call. Arcanine, another Thunder Fang! [The dog lunges at the licking ghost, and even if it's fangs might not have much to bite down into, the crackling electricity still runs right through it.]
no subject
[The ghost attempts to obey, but the attack hits anyway, and Nikolai simply looks on coldly as it recoils back, twitching and sparking as the paralysis effect sets in.] Cute. Shadow Ball the mutt!
[The haunter tries to obey, but - sorry man, all you're getting is twitches and sparking.] Stupid worthless thing, I gave you an order!
dat persona cutin
[Blue just shakes his head with a tut at Niko's desperate order to his paralyzed Pokémon, fishing into his bag and pulling something out.] Arcanine, catch! [The dog Pokémon reacts- well, like a dog, catching the small object Blue hurled to it in its mouth- a Cheri Berri, which it gulps down to shake the paralysis off, then wags and barks.] ARK!
[Dat Poke-Amie] If your Pokémon can't fight, then just recall it! [He scolds, shrugging.] Can't take a loss gracefully?
no subject
It changes nothing, and the bit about his pokemon not being able to fight earns a snort and a handwave.] Hmph. It's not out cold. It can still fight. Lick!
[The order is a darker this time, and the ghost manages to power through - most likely out of fear - in an attempt to Lick the dog again.]
no subject
[Well, it's not like he wants to, but might as well faint it. For its own good, at least.] Arcanine, finish this off with another Thunder Fang!
[The dog Pokémon chomps down on the licking tongue that comes after it, sending one last jolt of electricity into the Ghost Pokémon. Blue scowls, arms crossed.] Give it up already, sheesh.
no subject
And run from a fight? Never. [He pulls out his final pokeball, and released the golbat on to the field.] Confuse Ray, then Leech Life.
no subject
[But he was mad.] Hey, are you even paying attention!? I've gone through two of your Pokémon so far with just one, you know? And now you're going to send a Flying type against a Fire Type with Thunder Fang, and command a Bug Type move?
[He grinds his heel irritably into the sidewalk grit, tsking with a moment of hesitation. This was going to hurt his Pokémon way more than it would hurt him. Blue knew this kind of stubbornness; his Pokémon knew this kind of stubbornness.] Give me a break. Arcanine, finish him quickly. Flare Blitz!
[Arcanine barks, swiftly dodging the lights of the Confuse Ray and enveloping itself in intense flames. With the Sunny Day still in effect overhead, the wavering heat intensified the power of its attack as it ran towards Golbat in a powerful tackle, crashing into the giant bat and smashing it, fire streaming, into a nearby brick wall.]
[Shaking off the recoil damage as it pads back towards Blue, Arcanine's flames dissipate as it barks again proudly.]
no subject
That the Confuse Ray misses earns a growl, his face twisting into a look of anger. Statistical chances of missing aside, he'd trained the bat better than that.] Worthless -
[He bites the words off in favour of taking a few steps back and flinging his arm up. Fire-type moves can get hot, and by the time they have receded, his poor bat is looking more than a little charred, and completely out cold.
It takes more than a few seconds before it's recalled, Nikolai staring before he shakes himself. That was, as much as he doesn't want to admit it, a very cool move.] Aw, whatever. Battling wimps isn't any fun anyway. How much do you want?
no subject
[...Jeez, just what was this kid's problem, anyway? That aggression towards his Pokémon... They almost looked afraid when he was commanding them, like if they didn't succeed...]
[Blue frowns. Even he had never stooped quite that low, but it still dislodges something uncomfortable in him.] League rules is half, but I'll be nice and just take a third since we're in a place like this. [Blue smirks, coming forward and outstretching an expectant hand. C'mon, pal.]
no subject
[And digging out his wallet, and there is a few notes and coins that total to $15.67 handed over with only the briefest of scowls.] Here.
no subject
[Is he really complaining about the prize money? He might be.]
Lemme give you some advice, kid. [Blue snorts, returning Arcanine to its Pokéball to rest with an offhand 'good job' and a ruffle.] I was already better than you when I became the Champ. But I was green! What it took for me to really get better was what you don't got yet! It's called respect for your Pokémon. [He waves a hand.] You don't have a hope of beating even one of my Pokémon until then.
[He turns to head back down the street, smirking.] Don't challenge me again until you figure that out, got it? Smell ya later, Rocket kid!
[And with that, he was swaggering away.]
no subject
Blue is tuned out after a few words. He doesn't need or want your stupid advice because it's not him that's lacking, it's his pokemon.
While the parting comment has his blood boiling, he settles for glaring at Blue as he walks away.
And then he turns on his heel - and he needs to go find Archie and get his stupid, worthless team healed. Oh well. Better than having to do it the long way.]
