Double fresh!
WHO: Utena Tenjou, her clone, and YOU!
WHERE: All around Heropa
WHEN: The 7th to the 14th for the open prompts, with closed prompts taking place later in the month
WHAT: Utena's clone has started tocrack come out of her shell. Why don't you nice folk go say hi to her? Or maybe you can fill the real Utena in on what she missed.
WARNINGS: Underage smoking and potential violence. Will edit further as necessary.
Prompt 1, New and Improved
The teenager stumbles on the ground as Utena pushes past him, shoving him away from her and the younger boy he was shaking down for cash. However, she doesn't stay to accept any thank yous or to check up on him, and she ignores the insults that the bully is shouting at her from behind. She simply saunters down the side walk, veering towards an ice cream shop on the street. She's not interested in any frozen treats, though. Instead, she eyes a couple sitting outside and plucks the fedora right off the young man's head, and by the time he and his date get over their shock she's long gone. If questioned, she'll say that she's doing him a favor before she tries it on herself.
She continues her string of petty thefts throughout the night. A cigarette is plucked out of someone's mouth and she takes a drag. A drink is yanked from someone's hand and is unceremoniously dumped on the ground when she doesn't like the taste. Somewhere along the way a pair of shades found their way onto her face. Why is she wearing sunglasses at night? Because it's cool, and Utena Tenjou is all about cool.
Or at least, her clone seems to think so. For a week straight people will see Utena's clone strolling through town, pushing through natives and casually taking what she wants. Maybe you don't like how she's pushing everyone around. Maybe she tries to grab something of yours. Or maybe you actually like her style. She'll be too cool to respond to most people, though, unless you're especially assertive... or you decide to offer her a light.
Prompt 2, The Real Deal
When morning comes, it brings a brand new Utena who has no idea what her double has been up to. Luckily, the fine folk of Heropa are more than happy to fill her in. They're also quite eager to demand their sunglasses and their hats and a new pack of cigarettes and money for that sandwich she claimed as her own.
"Sorry, I - Look, I really don't - no, I don't have five dollars!"
She throws her arms up, which is enough to push the crowd back by a foot or two, and she sighs before continues.
"I'm sorry, but I don't know what you guys are talking about! Really, I don't!"
Will you lend her a hand? Maybe you can give her an alibi. Or maybe you'd ratherdouse some gasoline on the fire and volunteer your own experiences with the soda stealing menace. Or maybe you miss the scene and don't notice her until she's stomping away from the crowd, talking to herself and wondering out loud.
"Seriously, what's gotten into everyone lately...?"
[OOC: I started with prose, but if you'd prefer action or brackets, I'll gladly switch! Also, if these prompts don't work for you but you'd still like CR, just shoot me a PM or private plurk and I can start a custom prompt for you in the comments.]

Early Morning, July 16th, locked to Sabriel and Jacob
no subject
Utena. If that is who you are. You're going to need to come with us.
no subject
Sorry, but I'm not going with anyone right now.
[Not until she gets a good explanation, at least. She likes you, Jacob, really, but you're acting pretty damn fishy. And considering how strange everyone has been acting, well...]
no subject
Someone matching your description was involved in a robbery- we need you to come with us.
no subject
Hold on - this is some kind of mistake! There's no way I'd do something like that!
[Then again... this isn't the first time she's been accused of doing something she'd never dream of. But her impostor, whoever she was, had been more of a nuisance than an actual threat. She wouldn't go that far, would she?]
no subject
The real Utena probably wouldn't do that, sure. But we don't know who we're talking to right now, do we?
[Even Sabriel is being impersonated. And not all the doubles are considerate enough to go around in spiky skull aesthetic the way her imposter is.]
We've got to take you into custody until we can get to the bottom of this. I promise if you're innocent, you'll be out in no time.
no subject
If you're really Utena, we can resolve this in an hour or so. If not... well, we'll get some answers.
no subject
And what's going to happen to me if we can't clear things up?
no subject
Then you're getting charged and put on probation for robbing a family and beating them up. And for taking their dog.
[All dognappers must be hunted down, in Jacob's book. Also all thugs and thieves of course, but seriously who goes after a dog?]
no subject
no subject
[Ugh, now she's getting caught up in this stupid thing!]
Nevermind. But what do you mean, put on probation? Don't you need a, I don't know, a trial for that first?
[This is, uh, not looking so good. Even if she plays along, will things really go well for her?]
no subject
The justice system works differently for imPorts. There is a kind of legal process, but it goes fast. Not much point drawing things out when the sentences just last a couple on this, I guess.
no subject
no subject
...I'm sorry, but... I can't.
[And Utena dashes off in a flurry of rose petals... because she just cut through a neighbor's lawn, phasing through the bushes just in time to avoid a nasty set of scratches. Rest in peace, you award winning blossoms, you have served your garden well. Utena is unconcerned with the mild property damage, though. She sprints through the grass, aiming for a fence, ready to either jump it or go through it.... assuming she isn't stopped first.]
no subject
[Damn it, why can't anything be simple? Jacob is right after her. When she goes to vault the fence, he flings a biotic Pull at her in mid-air, aiming to levitate her back towards him. It's the same attack he kept using when he was fighting killer butterflies alongside her, not too long ago.]
no subject
no subject
Sabriel's mark has done it's job, and the pose that Utena's now stuck in could be mistaken for interpretive dance, if not for the sour expression on her face. Oh, and the whole floating in midair thing.]
no subject
All right. Now just hold still while I get these on you. I'm placing you under arrest.
[His Pull effect will last about fifteen seconds. He doesn't know how long Sabriel's magic will persist, but it should be long enough to get this under control.]
The Genuine Article
He'd been passing, but Harry Potter doesn't walk past bullying without doing something about it. He'd already been detouring toward the little group even before he'd seen a flash of pink hair. Now he manages to duck beneath an arm and stand up straight, facing down the crowd along with her. His wand is still in his pocket, but he's got his hand on it.
"She said she hasn't got any of it, go on, clear off."
no subject
Utena breathes out in relief, letting her shoulders relax, and gives the crowd one last look. The last person left staring gets a sharp glare from Utena, and hescurries off before Utrena turns to Harry.
"Thanks," she says. "But you didn't have to do that. I appreciate it, really, but I could have taken care of them."
There's no harshness in her voice, and her gratitude is genuine, but she still didn't like the idea of someone even potentially getting into trouble on her account.
no subject
And Harry's never been afraid of getting into trouble on anyone else's behalf. It's sometimes even more fun that way. Besides, she'd been surrounded, and crowds can shift the wrong way sometimes, but he finally takes his hand off the wand in his pocket. "What was all that about, did they think you were someone else?"
no subject
She straightened up and added, "Besides, even if I wanted to spend all night pushing my weight around, I couldn't. I can't really do my job if I'm up til five stealing sandwiches from people."
1. SORRY I'M SO LATE
He watched the cities, watched the streets. Hacked into the public access cameras, and installed a few of his own, but watching Utena act like she owned the streets was enough to make him curious, and he was waiting for her by Wednesday, leaning against a wall, when she snatched a drink out of someone's hand, and he clapped. ]
Wow.
That's impressive. When did you start with the kleptomania?
no subject
Wouldn't you like to know.
no subject
[ Watching her move was... well.
It's a good thing his helmet veiled every outward reaction. He only crossed his arms. ]
You turn over a new leaf, or something?
no subject
[She jerks her thumb out, oh so rudely pointing at the bystanders across the street]
Everyone loves a fanclub, but that's all they are. Fans. Groupies. It's kinda pathetic, huh? We can kick them around all we want, but they'd still come crawling back for more.
no subject
We offer something that they can't have on their own. I'm surprised, though. You seemed so...dedicated to having the moral high ground, it's good to see you rolling in the dirt like the rest of us.
[ She couldn't see it, but he grinned. ]
What do you plan on doing with your newfound freedom?
no subject
There's nothing dirty about what I'm doing. And what /im doing is showing that we don't have to put up with this crap. Anyone can be free... if they want to be.
no subject
So what led to the revelation?
1
You're wasting your time in wanting to gain reactions. No matter how many drinks you take and throw, no one is going to make a scene over it.
[Her gaze will be the bar's table as she takes another expensive wine glass without blinking an eye. The reaction of the worker in charge will give her a look as though he was thinking of making a scene until "Nike" glares at him and begins to hum that he and everyone else watching in anticipation will turn an uncomfortable blind eye.]
Not as long as I'm around, then they won't; I guarantee it.
Re: 1
I'm not trying to make a scene. [HUFF] I'm just trying to have a good time. If those losers can't handle it, then they can stay out of our way.
[She may be acting too cool for school, but there is some hint of clone solidarity. After all, she said "our way", not "my way".]
no subject
[Although, now that the other clone was clearly showcasing their dislike for their drinks, "Nike" can't help begin to wonder if maybe she was following the too passive attitude her original has. The very idea sickened her. More than enough to copy the clone by tossing the drink over those in the bar, spraying some with the liquor, before reaching the ground in a crash.]
I doubt they'll get in our way, no matter what we do. [Watching some of them quiver upon her looking at them, even if they were glaring at them a moment ago.] Tch. Boring...
[The notion of not being given a challenge was beginning to annoy her.]
Hey, what powers do you have? Can you use them?
no subject
["Utena" smirks and picks up a fork, twirling it between her fingers. It doesn't seem impressive unless one looks closely, and realizes that her fingers are phasing through the metal as if it was thin air.
That alone still isn't very exciting, though. She places her free hand on the table, softening up a small patch on the surface, and tightens her grip on the fork before stabbing it into the wood.]
no subject
An idea may just as flashes through her gaze as she begins to grin.]
You have a really clean power there. Very useful in not wanting to make a mess.
[Her gaze will turn to the people in the bar who will look more than horrified.]
Have you tried it on live subjects yet?
no subject
...maybe later. C'mon, let's go - this place is getting boring.
[She could test it out here, but honestly? Seeing everyone put in their place is enough to satisfy her.]
no subject
You don't have to tell me twice.
[It was clear she may have more fun following another clone for a bit. Wrecking havoc on the city while tarnishing the names of their original counterparts. Besides, there was strength in numbers as well. She'll follow after her without another word or action on her part.]
What's the next plan? What are you in the mood for?
no subject
[She hums to herself as she walks out the door, thinking it over. So many options, so little time... She stuffs her hands in her pocket and starts strolling down the street, only to stop in her tracks. Right in front of her is a bright, shiny sports car... stuck right in front of a "no parking" sign.]
...hey. That's pretty rude, don't you think?
no subject
Really rude. It's practically blocking our way, isn't it? What would be the best lesson to give to the creep responsible for this?
[Mock thoughtful expression will look very thoughtful. It won't be long until she decides.]
Clearly the right thing to do would be to move the vehicle somewhere else, huh?
[And with the other girl's power, she could practically go through it, couldn't she?]
no subject
[What's the word? Hotwiring? Maybe they can "hotwire" this thing.]
no subject
[But even so, she supposes they could figure something out.]
How about taking it to one of those mechanics or something? Make them turn it on for us?
no subject
["Utena" harrumphs to herself before she slams her fist against the door, making the metal crumple underneath her fist.]
no subject
Ye of little faith. Before you decide to have a temper tantrum, maybe you should hear a girl out first?
[Or better yet.]
A demonstration may be a better idea?
[Before giving the other girl time to response, she'll decide to activate another of her original's powers that she can use: the power to levitate. In no time, the other girl may find herself floating while "Nike" continues to hold her, maintaining her in place.]
no subject
[Her face lights up once she sees the car float off the ground.]
Alright! Come on, I think there's a mechanic down this-
[Unfortunately, timing is not on their side. "Utena" can't even finish her sentence before someone behind them lets out a sharp, ear piercing scream. Oh look, the car's owner is ready to come home. Funny, that's an awfully high pitched scream for a guy that old.]
no subject
Get lost or I'm dropping this on the top of your stinking head!
[She'll even take a step forward with the intention to crush him. Guess who was beyond in a bad mood now?]
no subject
[The old man's eyes light up when he sees this brave heroine stand up for him... until "Utena" points in his direction and snarls at him]
You! Hand us the keys or she's dropping this on your stinking head!
sorry for late reply, computer broke :(
[Her partner's outburst will have her attention over the matter as much as the old man except she trusted the suggestion will benefit them more than the geezer standing in front of them.
Only to find it was truly the case.
It was a good idea too. "Nike" will follow her lead by getting closer to the old man, positioning the car to the side in an attempt to mimic it to look like a overly huge baseball bat.]
You have the count of three to give it to my partner too. If you make any sudden move without meeting our demands, then I promise to make you and your car become one!
it's cool!
Niiice! Come on, let's ride!
