[Semi-Closed]
WHO: Inanna and CR
WHERE: Various
WHEN: 2nd week of July
WHAT: EverythINg is fINE (Or: Inanna has become overwhelmed by their divinity and everything is going to fuckin hell. Fights are pre-selected, but rescues are welcome! Hit me up at
jiora with any questions.)
WARNINGS: Violence, dismemberment, murder attempts, eventually an actual death
From Dusk Til Dawn
[It seems like the stars have been hanging around longer than they should recently; appearing earlier in the day and watching from overhead later into the morning. Or...at least, it appears that way at a few residences and offices belonging to some friends and acquaintances of the Goddesses. It might be a little eerie if there were a single person in the world who found twinkling stars to be ominous.
But they have been watching. And they've been relaying information back to Inanna; details about routines and schedule and when just the right time to catch someone alone might be. So, eventually, when Inanna's decided the timing is as perfect as it's going to get, they'll be appearing in swirl of harmless stardust in the middle of a living room, or perhaps it's a bedroom, or even someone's office as they're locking up for the night.]
Hi there! Sorry to drop in unannounced, but I was hoping we could have a chat.

So - turning to see Inanna there is a bit of a shock. He jolts as the goddess makes their entry, nearly knocking the paperwork off his desk entirely. ]
-- Inanna? What the hell are you doing here?
[ Why would anyone show up at the ambassador's office at this hour just to chat? ]
no subject
I only want to talk. I've been thinking about the problems we've had in the past.
[It's such a simple statement, lacking any kind of anger or irritation that might signal a new problem has arisen. With the apologetic tone, it almost sounds like they might have some regrets of their own about the difficulties between them.]
no subject
My apologies, then. You just startled me a bit.
[ His hackles go back down as he gestures for Inanna to sit. There's a nice leather couch here in his office, very comfortable; Miles himself will lean against the desk with one slim, fragile arm. ]
no subject
I know. I suppose I should have called ahead, but... [They shrug rather than finishing the thought.] This shouldn't take very long. I just couldn't get the fights you had with Persephone out of my head.
Do you remember how hurt she was over all of it?
no subject
He turns from Inanna for a moment to snag a small bottle of bourbon he has tucked away in his desk. Pours some of it into a highball glass, offering it out to them. ]
Mm. I do. In my defense, I react very poorly to her singing.

Lucifer Morningstar
'I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world...']
'Men in general are quick to believe that which they wish to be true.' [He says humorously to himself.] Hello, Inanna.
no subject
Luci. You know, that is the basis of most faith.
no subject
[He sets his book aside, to be polite, of course, and gestures to the bar with an open palm.]
Can I offer you a drink?
no subject
[It was all a little different when you were the thing humans put their faith in. Or their fear, as appropriate.
Inanna turns to consider the bar with a thoughtful smile.]
I had been considering helping myself anyway. It's kind of you to offer first.
no subject
[He smiles dangerously, but tips his head towards the bar anyway. Please, help yourself.]

A Special Present for John
It's this thought that brings them to John's room late one night. It's a familiar puff of glitter that Inanna steps out of, but the goddess themself is hardly recognizable. Inanna's clothes are torn and dulled with scuffs of dirt and ruddy brown stains that look ominous even in the dim lighting. There are smears of blood down the sides of their face, and a few drops continue to trickle at a slow from the corner of their eyes, out of their ears and nose. If it bothers them, Inanna doesn't give any indication. They don't even bother to wipe the smears away as they grin broad and manic at him.]
John… John. You really came back just in time, you know?
no subject
He'd been trying to -- well, he hadn't decided if it was an attempt at meditation, brooding or falling asleep. But the glow and glitter in the space take his attention away from the stains in the ceiling. He makes a very deliberate effort to not look unnerved at the map of starlight and carnage manifests in front of him.
Immediately, he knows, this stunt ends here. He cannot live with himself if another Newcastle comes down on his head. But it would be suicide charging right into a conflict, so he retorts casually. ]
Suppose I did. This a new look you're going for? Dunno if I'm much on... fashion advice.
no subject
This is...an oversight. Easily corrected.
[A quick snap of their fingers, and—there's an odd fizzling sound. But their clothes are made pristine, and that's all that matters, right?]
no subject
You need something? I was meant to keep my distance, I know, but I thought perhaps checking in would be best when I was back. In case you, er... [ Were having an obvious breakdown ] ...well, needed something.
no subject
I only need you. [They wave a hand in a placating gesture.] Just—you. I promise to try to make it quick.

Of course, he was watching monitors. A network of spy cameras all over the city, and his fingers were steepled, as he leaned forward, observing.
He jumped, when Inanna showed up in his bedroom. ]
What the fuck? Are you trying to pull a me?
no subject
coolcreepy thing Inanna had to say is forgotten in the face of the much creepier scene they've sparkled in on. It isn't surprising at all, but that doesn't actually help much.]What do you even need all of this for?
no subject
Watching.
[ He said it like being a voyeur wasn't completely ridiculous and gross. ]
Why, you want to watch too?
no subject
[Honestly. Who the hell did Woden think they were?]
I came to discuss your betrayal.
no subject
[ He shrugged, and tipped his helmet. ]
Which betrayal?
