[The Meadows, being a place largely created from magic, has a subtle strangeness to it. From the outside, it could be taken for any old Appalachian farm: scattered barns and stables, a roomy wooden farmhouse, a 19th century stone chapel that some hoodlum graffitied. There's evidence that the farm is occupied by unsupervised teenagers, too, in the donut tracks that mar the grass and the remains of regular bonfires. As long as the monsters are out of sight, everything seems ordinary.
Once inside the farmhouse, however, the odd discrepancies become more apparent. The layout of the rooms doesn't quite match how the house appeared from the outside. There are windows where windows shouldn't be, stairways like vertical mazes to secluded rooms, and views from rooms that look into other worlds entirely. Half of the appliances work without any source of electricity, fresh coffee's always waiting in the pot without anyone having to brew it, and the refrigerator never seems to run out of leftover pizza. Things are simply wrong about the place, for all the cozy warmth of its design.]

Adam Parrish | OTA
Adam's energy channeling comes with the ability to create force fields, which is an aspect of his magic that he hasn't yet explored. He's taking that opportunity now. His batteries for this experiment are an array of odds and ends, failed dream inventions from Ronan or his predecessor. There's another experiment in the works here: Adam's removing the residual dream energy from the things, wanting to know what's left. In some cases it's mere stone and wood, while in others the thing unravels completely into magic, which Adam can shape and control into waves and rivers and spinning orbs around him. He's doing this out in one of the fields, which seemed the safest choice, and now he's surrounded by an array of floating energy bubbles, spinning like tops in the air around him.
2. The Cake is a Lie
In further adventures of baking and force fields, Adam has created a prank in the kitchen. There's a tasty looking cake sitting unattended on the counter. The white frosting is a bit messy, but it nonetheless is a success as a culinary creation.
The problem is that the cake is impossible to cut. The frosting cannot even be sampled--any wandering fingers will skid harmlessly off the top. Adam covered the cake in a force field and then wandered out of the kitchen. He'll be right back, but in the meantime, good luck trying to help yourself to a piece of that cake.
3. Sleeping Beauty
In his free time, Adam can most often be found in the living room window seat, surrounded by books. He's fallen asleep there with one of the books in his lap, but it's the best place to find him if you wanted conversation. His sleep is deep enough that it might be enchanted. You may have to wake him with a kiss.
ruuude kyle is totally not kissing him
He vows to be a stealthy cat all the way to the nearby couch, which lasts all over five seconds when he runs into a coffee table. The loud creak across the wooden floors doesn't wake him up thank God. This time he sits gingerly on the sofa with his phone in hand, quietly playing a game to pass the time.
There's another loud sound a few minutes later that gives Kyle a heart attack, but it's got nothing to do with him this time. Adam's book has fallen off and onto the floor. Thoughtfully, Kyle stands up and returns the book to its rightful spot, leaning over Adam to place it against the window sill where it won't fall again. ]

A moment later he recognizes Kyle and relaxes, letting his head thunk back against the wood of the windowframe.]
Oh, Kyle.

for ANYONE??
[ Kyle's first opinion of this gothic farm is that, well, it looks like a gang of vagrants took it over. He would know having worked the seedier streets all up and down Cali for half his life. Still, nothing screamed dangerous, which is very good, because Kyle barely knows Ronan or any of his boyfriends. This could go horribly.
Or it could go great, Kyle reminds himself. It's hard to be hostile when you are chowing down on s'mores, and Kyle brought a lot of them. So he should be good, right?
Honestly, he's not sure where to wander first. There's a lot to distract the eye. The grass is a lush green Kyle has rarely ever seen what with being a city boy and all. But it's beautiful—It's all beautiful in spite of the eerie aesthetic. In the quiet of the meadows he can hear the nag of a farm animal. Which one he's got no clue. City boy, remember? It's all unfamiliar territory, that's for sure, making his next decisions watery and uncertain. Maybe he'll just text Ronan. ]

Drama Llama
Seriously...? [ They have llamas. That is... one of the oddest connections he can make to a pack of teens. At least Ronan's texts make a tiny bit more sense. None of them seem to care about this newfound presence but one. It strides on over probably on the look out for food, which Kyle does technically have, but it's not llama food. It is adult food thank you every much. He keenly guards it with both hands. ]
Hey. You're... very big. [ And at eye level, which is slowly freaking Kyle out. ] Please don't spit at me. What're you—Nope, noo no, none for you. Hey! [ Someone please help this poor ginger keep his bag o' s'mores out of the greedy mouth of a llama. Thaanks. ]

There's an old leather-bound book tucked under his arm, yellowed pages in between the covers. The new person standing there certainly appears to look like someone associated with Lucifer, but the only evidence of his initial surprise is a pair of faintly widened eyes.
Of course, this person couldn't make it onto the property with violent intentions.]

Adam's Birthday, after the fight with Gansey
Wanting to hide, he slips out the side door to his room and heads for the church, creeping up the stairs to his old room there and ducking through the door, quiet so as to not alert Ronan if he's in the nave.
It's only once he's inside the little attic room that he realizes his critical error, because Ronan's already there. He stops short, looking distinctly caught with his hand still on the doorknob.]
no subject
Who did what?
[Sounds like he's going to fight whoever it was.]
no subject
He can't bear to answer, so he just walks straight to Ronan and slides into his lap, claiming Ronan's lips in a kiss. It's desperate and deep, full of all Adam's need for him.
After a minute, the kiss breaks. Adam tucks his face against Ronan's neck, clinging tight to him.]

Post Adam argument//for Noah
At the core of it, Gansey knows he just must not be good for Adam, because money or no, he still screws up.
Last evening when he wandered back to his room in a daze, he'd simply collapsed onto his bed, using a pillow to block out the rest of his room. Sleep never came--his mind was too busy running and rerunning what happened. What could he have said to avoid all this? What had he missed? Why hadn't he mentioned Blue sooner? What if she showed up and felt the same way as Adam? What if Ronan took sides against him?
All these thoughts leading to different scenarios in his mind, hardly noticing the hours passing by.
He had irreparably fucked up. Royally.]
no subject
It's okay.
[His breath is cool on the back of Gansey's neck.]
no subject
It isn't.
[His voice comes out as a cracked whisper. He doesn't move but he deeply appreciates Noah wanting to help.
You know. You can feel it. Blue was preordained. You three were my choice, not destiny's.]

Post Adam argument/makeup // for Ronan
He's sitting at his desk which is littered with books analyzing the Bible, and a copy of the holy book itself at the furthest corner of his desk. All of them are peppered with post-its, some small notes scribbled on them and his new notebook that he's transcribing some of the most important notes into.
It's something he can throw his attention at, analyzing as much as he can to figure out an angle, a way out of their predicament.]

Gansey puts down his pen, knowing Ronan is smashed without a look at him yet.]

Adam//Post birthday shenanigans
He gets up from his bed and wanders downstairs where he finds Adam at the counter doing something about breakfast. He's not sure what and doesn't exactly care right this second, simply coming up behind him and wrapping his arms around Adam's waist from behind, planting a kiss on his neck.]
Good morning. Been up long?
no subject
Not really. Slept in. It's nice to be able to sleep in on weekends.
[He still feels conflicted about everything he found out, but he's satisfied that Gansey loves him, that Ronan belongs to him, that Ronan knows he's loved, that Gansey will always be his best friend. That it turns out okay in the end. Noah said so.]
no subject
[And Gansey is thrilled that Adam gets a chance at being a somewhat normal teenager here.]
If you're willing...I'd like to take you back to our spot today.
