WHAT: Wanda is just hanging out and actually enjoying it, and ready for June to be over.

June has been, overall, a rough month for Wanda. As of a few days ago, she's started to get back on her regular schedule for, well, everything. She'd been more sporadic for the past three weeks; working less hours in a day than usual, going out socially less than usual. It's been a long time since she's been so ready to see a month over and done with.

Today finds her eating her lunch in a park in De Chima, just sitting on the grass, not caring about any likely grass and dirt stains on her clothing. It's worth it, though, because some nearby ducks have figured out that she's in a sharing mood with some of her plain lettuce she also brought along, and she is tossing pieces gently at them as the ducks collect closer to her. And by 'tossing' it's really 'using her telekinesis to float lettuce pieces to them', so there are visible red wisps from her fingertips as she does this. There are even some baby ducks, who are all very cute.

Will she get distracted with this and take too long of a lunch break? Probably. Also worth it. Come hang out with her and help feed the ducks; you know you want to.

Erik is still out campaigning, passing out buttons and the like, having taken the time off work for the election, and obviously spending most of his time in De Chima. He's in the park putting on a concert by plucking strings of a guitar via powers, and continues letting it play as someone else catches his eye, and excuses himself from his show to go sit by his daughter.

"Hey," he says, smiling at her as the ducklings all come gather around. He really only has Disney Princesses and Peter for children.

She stops for a moment to look over and offer him a smile. "Hi." Yep, such a Disney Princess life right now at this moment. But she's not complaining about it at all; she kind of brought it on herself. "How's it going?" The buttons, etc., passing out, she means.

And then she holds a piece of lettuce out for him to take so he can feed ducks too if he wants.

Oh. Well, don't mind if he does. He'll pop a squat beside her and take her lettuce offer. Immediately he's approached by a few of the ducks, who happily quack to see their new visitor, and he offers one some lettuce and feather scratches.

"It's alright. Busy as usual. I see you're enjoying your summer," he comments. "When's your next day off?"

She takes her phone out of her pocket and takes a picture of the happy ducks.

"Busy is good." Better than the alternative. As she rests her phone on her lap. "I'm enjoying today." Don't give the summer as a whole too much credit, there. "As for day off, I don't work tomorrow."

"Mm," he says, thinking about it. "I've got a few meetings earlier in the day and then later at night... But a whole three hours in the afternoon, if you'd like to do something." maybe they could go to the zoo or to a park, or.

He doesn't know.

He just wants to see her.

"That sounds like a good idea." Three hours is plenty of time for something, anyway. "Did you have something in mind, or should we just wing it?" Because, honestly, either way it would probably wind up being fun.

"I didn't, because I didn't know if you were available. I was actually just going to get some laundry done, but I think that might not be as fun as whatever else we might be able to do."

Plus he can always do his laundry from work, what with being able to turn on and off the machine remotely, and of course he's got a pair of tongs in the laundry room... For this occasion.

So what if he abuses his powers.

Laundry is too much sitting and waiting around, yeah, blah. No one likes that. (She'd say that's being creative with powers, not abusing them. Why not? Ha.)

She thinks for a few seconds.. "I bet we could find a shorter hiking trail?" That's her first suggestion, as she hasn't done that in a while.

"Alright. I'll pack us a picnic, we'll have a late lunch with a view," he agrees, and then continues petting some ducks who have crawled in from behind his arm trying to see if he's got more lettuce.

"I wonder where their mother is..."

[divaricate]

"I can bring dessert." Why not?

Oh no, more cute ducks getting pets. She feeds a few more some lettuce.

"Probably finding them better food. If a bunch of ducks follow me home though..."

"Then we'll have no choice but to make room for them all. I'll have to get Rochester not to chase them." He doles out more scratches and more lettuce.

"What'll you make?"

Kaneki doesn't eat, so it's not like he does much during a lunch time, but he spends his free time walking about, trying to keep busy- usually he carries a book with him, to read whenever he can, and while that was the plan at first, he spots Wanda and her powers.

Curiously, he approaches with a smile, glancing back at the ducks for a second. "It looks like they find that power very useful." the ducks, he means.

"I think so. At least while they're getting food out of it." Said with a slight laugh. She would eventually run out of lettuce. "They might change their minds after." Who knows, really.

"Do you want feed them some?"

[ghoulking]

"As long as you have food, I'm certain they will continue to enjoy it." animals are simple like that, aren't they? It's not critique and he isn't being condescending - it's just an observation.

"I don't know if I should be using your lunch for that, though." she should probably eat it.

[divaricate]

"I hope so." She smiles at that. At some point, they'll probably get full, or bored, or both, and waddle away, but for now.. it's feast time.

"I've already eaten what I'm going to. But I think next time, I'll pack extra anyway. Just in case." Who can say no to cute ducks? Not her, that's who.

Well, if she is certain, then Kaneki won't refuse. He offers Wanda his gloved hand, mostly to ask for the food so he can offer some to the ducks too. It's not really something he does often, and it's always nice to have a moment of peace and quiet to enjoy - even better with baby animals, right?

Among the ducks she's feeding, there suddenly appears one covered in vivid green feathers. Gar will admit it: it's fun watching strangers' reactions to him shape shifting, and he's always been fond of a prank. He pecks up some of the lettuce, because he's a gross boy.

The red wisps curling away from her fingers draw his attention, and he watches them more intelligently than any duck should be able to.

Well, that's a strange colored duck. The lettuce is clean, at least, so uh enjoy the freshly clean and crispy lettuce, friend.

She squints at him, but obviously doesn't know what kind of duck it is. "What kind of duck are you?" She's doing that thing that people do when they talk to their pets or something -- having a conversation with an animal that can't reply back in the same language. Joke's on her, I guess.

He squints back in mimicry of the expression Wanda's making, and squawks back a friendly- if teasing- reply.

"Yo, isn't it kind of rude to ask me that?"

Okay, well, you win. She is definitely surprised. That duck just talked to her. Yep. That just happened.

"Fair enough, I suppose." Said with a quick laugh. "I'm Wanda Maximoff." Might as well introduce herself? Yeah.

He's gotta hand it to her, she takes it pretty well. Gar is almost disappointed there was no shrieking. He swims round in circles, before dashing up out of the water and in a flash, there's a hummingbird hovering in front of Wanda instead.

"I'm Beast Boy!! Nice to meetcha! Got any more food?"

The words leave his mouth too fast and he regrets them immediately. First of all: she is a lady. Second of all: this is a city where everyone had special powers. Floating lettuce should not be something special anymore.

"Is that some sort of blood magic?"

[divaricate]

She can see how it might look like something like that -- it is red. She doesn't take any offense, though. "Just some telekinesis here." Though, she does have some separate magic abilities as well. "Mine is unlike most people I see with the same ability, since it does do that red.. thing. Not too subtle." She's grown used to it.

Robb nods very slowly at her answer. Just some telekinesis...

“Telekinesis makes things float, I take?” There is a bit of a wary look on his face. “With red sparks?”

Thank the gods it is not blood magic. That would be downright unsettling. Old Nan has told him that many times in her stories.
