Although I have to say my experience with the government's treatment of people who are, as you put it, 'actually dangerous' is too limited to give even a half-formed opinion, there. There was only one person in my world with any powers and I think the fact she was an anomaly in and of itself means the response was wildly different than the government's response to the multitudes here. [His world has so little in the way of useful comparisons to things here that more than once he's wondered why he, of all people, got Ported in. The most use he could be here is simply housekeeping for RISE's Commander, so far, which, while not bad, was hardly how he envisioned his life going.]
