A day at the mall - semi open!
WHO: Catelyn Stark, Sansa Stark, Arya Stark
WHERE: Some Mall those still exist right
WHEN: Now
WHAT: Medieval time-refugees go shopping! If you'd like to encounter them, feel free to add a thread!
WARNINGS: None that I can imagine!
There were a great many differences in time and place than Catelyn was used to. One of the most amazing was the lack of….nothing, really. If one only knew where to look, one could have nearly anything almost instantaneously. To someone who had come of age in a time when one bad harvest literally meant decimation, if not worse, it was like something from a dream.
One of the many wonders nearly too good to be true had been the discovery of clothing “off the rack” - ready to wear and all that was necessary was to discover the size most likely to fit, and to buy them. Obviously, someone still had to make them, but it must be a much more simple process here. wool is not summerweight
She called up the stairs. “Girls, are you ready?”

So she was intrigued by the idea of going shopping with her mother and her sister when Catelyn first suggested the idea. Grabbing the bag that modern people called a purse, she slipped out of her bedroom just as her mother called up the stairs.
"Coming!" She called back, glancing towards Arya's room as she started for the stairs.

She wondered how her mother and sister felt about it. Not badly clearly, but it was definitely a difference.
Not that she cared much about specific styles still, though that should come as no surprise. She heard her mother calling, and her sister's closer reply as she shoved her wallet into the pocket of her jeans, slipping out of her own room just in time to see Sansa heading down the stairs and following after, as noiseless as she always seemed to be when she didn't put thought into making her steps create noise.
She might not give a toss about clothing, but she did like the idea of being able to spend some time with Sansa and Catelyn.

Reaching the bottom of the stairs, she smiled warmly at her Mother before glancing over her shoulder to check if Arya had heard them. Finding her sister right there, close behind, was enough to make her jump as she took a quick step away and sucked in a breath to swallow any noise escaping her. She wasn't nearly as twitchy as she had been at one time but she still hated to be surprised.
"You startled me." She managed to make her voice steady as she bit down the urge to scold her and made herself smile instead. "Has anyone threatened to put a bell on you yet?"

She hadn't meant to sneak up on Sansa, but it was fun all the same. Though she did reach out to give her sister a brief half-hug by way of apology.
"You can try if you like, but it doesn't work." Her coworkers had tried all manner of combinations of bells on shoes, tied onto her shirt, or onto her hair whenever she wore it pulled back, but it never seemed to make her any noisier.
"I think we're as prepared as we'll ever be."
