If you give a mouse a cookie
WHO: Allura and Keith
WHERE: Maurtia Falls
WHEN: June 6th, early afternoon
WHAT: Buying exercise equipment for the mice
WARNINGS: N/A
He wasn't expecting the princess to agree to go out shopping with him. He hated shopping, but she seemed concerned about the health of the mice and to be honest it gave him something to do on his day off. He pats Red on the head, waiting on a bench near by their apartment complex. Red, he realised, was getting just as antsy being cooped up in the apartment but what could he do for a small mechanical lion?
Would the pet store have something for Red?
Probably not. Maybe he'll see about finding some scrap metal to make her a scratching post. He pats the top of Red's head, before looking at his watch.
Where was Allura? Hopefully the mice weren't giving her too much trouble.

It's not that they're getting unhealthy, but with life in Maurtia Falls and on this version of Earth being less critical than life on the Castle-ship, they have gotten a bit soft. Especially Platt.
...in fact, mostly Platt.
She finds Keith waiting outside the complex, as agreed, and when she looks at the time on her communicator, she realizes she's a few doboshes late. Quiznak, she really does need to get used to how different Earthling time seems to go.
"I apologize for keeping you waiting." The mice scuttle off her shoulders, mainly to approach Red and to climb up on the miniature robot. Allura looks from Keith to the Lion, making a bit of a strange expression.
"...I do not think I can ever get used to seeing the Red Lion so...small."

He had to hold back saying that she'll get used to it. He was already too comfortable here in the familiarity of home that it unnerved him a bit. He didn't want her to get used to it. They had to return back to the Castle of Lions and stop Zarkon before it was too late.
So what happens while they're gone?
He shakes his head. He probably shouldn't think of that here when they're going to look at a hamster wheel. He eyes the mice as they clamber up onto Red. He swears she looks frustrated.
"Neither will I. Especially since she seems to move on her own here. It's kind of nice having her around until I wake up with her trying to lay on top of me."

Her attention turns back to Red and, regardless of whether the lion is annoyed or not, the mice remain happily sitting on top of her. Allura can hear them wondering if they could fit inside the lion and fly it.
"I wonder if the machine which brought us here gave the lions more independent sentience in place of their size..." She had not been around when the Lions of Voltron were formed, however, plus the magic and technology of this world was incredibly unfamiliar.
"...the Red Lion tries to lay on top of you? You must be joking."

He was trying to be impassive, especially seeing Allura in something other than her normal dress. She looked -- well she looked amazing. Jeans was a good look on her and he did everything in his power not to linger too long on her outfit. Not that he wasn't in anything similar. He hung up his cutoff jacket for a simple black tank and jeans, which was probably better suited for the weather they were having.
Not really a good defense against mosquitos however.
"It's possible. I'm still trying to figure out the tech here. I thought about having Hunk try and do some digging but the last thing we need is the government knocking on our door." He frowns, before looking over to Red.
"She does. Might have gotten the idea from a tv show where the main character's cat sleeps on them." He says with a shrug, before patting her head again. "The store is this way. Maybe we can get Platt on a diet."
He's only halfway joking.

It's something she'll look into, at least, and it will no doubt be something she'll bring up during the meeting. It's unfounded that the team is spread across this country, even with the ease of teleportation.
"...well, yes, I would much prefer it if you did not attract the attention of this world's government. I wouldn't want to hear of the Paladins of Voltron getting detained."
Her arms remain crossed, and as she gives another considering look at both Keith and the small, lion-sized Lion, she moves to take the mice from the Lion, but after Keith's comment, Platt remains unmoved, pouting up at the Red Paladin, and scurrying away to sit at the literal tail-end of the Lion's back.
Allura laughs, as the others scamper up along her arm.
"Oh come on, Platt. Keith was only joking. You all need some exercise."

He stops for a moment, double checking street signs. After a moment of double checking (he read the directions like twice, forgive him he could just use GPS but here we are) he motions down the lane. He glances back at Platt, before letting out a bit of a a chuckle.
"Don't worry, we're just getting a hamster wheel. I'm sure you'll be fine."
He can't even hear the mice and he's now talking to them.
