June Bonding
WHO: Tohru Adachi, and open unless noted
WHERE: All porter cities
WHEN: The month of June
WHAT: Adachi did not have a good month last month, and he's trying to both recover and deal with his sins coming up to bite him.
WARNINGS: Talk about dismemberment and body parts growing back. About after the third week, Gemini is going to be "bugging" Adachi, so she'll be spying in on all his interactions with with other people.
[ I Need a Hand Here | All Cities ]
[ Adachi was fairly miserable at the start of the month, though he still tried to keep up his work. His left arm was slung up in a special sling, one that kept his hand, or lack thereof, from immediate view. Just because it was out of sight, didn't mean it was out of mind. It hurt like hell, and the painkillers were doing practically doing nothing. ]
[ He has to stop a lot, and he's most likely to be found in a cafe or somewhere else cool, or at a local park in this month, especially during the first week. ]
[ You Kids and Your Technology | All Cities ]
[ By the mid-point of the second week of June, Adachi was fitted with a temporary prosthetic, but it doesn't do much to help him. By that point it was obvious that something was growing on the stump that remained, and it hurt like hell. The temporary prosthetic hid the weird... thing growing out of his wrist, and allowed him at least hold things with both hands, but it wasn't much helpful beyond that. ]
[ By this point he's taken less work, and is trying to relax more while keeping himself distracted from the pain. Reading and listening to music help, and he's easily found in libraries around the porter cities. He can also be found at an electronics shop, trying to find something he could use exclusively for playing music... but the only thing he ever had for that other than his phone was a discman a million years ago. ]
[ He... needs help. A lot of help. ]
[ Gliding Off | Heropa ]
[ Adachi at least waited until he got his prosthetic before he tried putting on a pair of ice skates again. ]
[ He's also determined to keep his promise to leave Yuri alone, hanging around the rink before closing time to make sure the kid showed up or not before going to get his skates and put them on. Lacing them with one hand and one kind of hand was interesting, and it took him several tries before he finally managed to get them tight enough to actually use. ]
[ He's sorely out of practice, and it shows with how many times he falls just trying to stay upright. It's a lot harder to get back up to his feet, but he manages it, keeping close to the barrier until he gets used to it again. Adachi started feeling comfortable again by the time he got his music player, and once he had it, he tried skating with the music playing in his ears. He isn't doing anything strenuous, but he is just letting his feet move in ways that felt right, trying to get used to the feel of just moving on the ice again. ]
[ Taking a Page Out of a Book | Heropa | Yusuke ]
[ Eventually Adachi's propensity to be restless and board caught up to him, and he had a pleasant reminder that he had his Persona back. He almost went out to his little training spot by himself, but then he remembered Yusuke, and his offer to train before. Hopefully he still wasn't annoyed with him... it's been a few weeks and he's short a hand; he had to forgive him a little bit, right? ]
At the spot.
Train? y/n
[ He was pretty sure Yusuke would understand what he meant. In the meantime, he would lean against a tree trunk and fidget, glancing around and hoping the teen would show up. ]

U-um... I would appreciate the instruction...

You skate and I'll watch.
[He glides back on the ice.]
Then we'll talk again.

[ What Adachi is like is a nervous wreck, at least as he starts off. He peered over at him for a moment, before he had to focus on what he was doing, feeling his knees wobble a little already. It was a moment still before he could say anything, calling over his shoulder. ]
I don't really know that much. I just learned the circle thing from watching Viktor and videos on BlueTube.
no subject
That doesn't matter. It's about repetition and pushing yourself forward.
[Pick a path and stick to it.]
Balance is the most important thing to start with. You should be able to skate on either foot alone for a length of time without falling.
no subject
[ And just to prove that, he started skating on one foot and, just to be a dork, did it backwards as he paid attention to Otabek. ]
I'm a black belt in judo, which is all about balance. It took me a bit to figure that out, but once I did it made things easier.
no subject
That's very good. You're already well on your way.
[He looks Adachi up and down.]
Your endurance. How long can you skate without stopping?
no subject
[ He came to a stop, a little shakily; he hadn't quite learned how to do that yet. ]
I was pretty sturdy before I ended up here, but then I ended up with super endurance.
no subject
[That was something Otabek had never come across before. It seemed impossible, but nothing could be.]
no subject
Yeah, I do, but I think most of the time I'm so strung out on coffee and nerves from work I don't realize it until I stop.
no subject
[Endurance and stamina would help with both, but one would lead to training and the other to practice.]
no subject
I'm twenty-eight now; by the time I learn enough to compete, I'd be way too old.
[ Not... that he wouldn't if he could. Despite the overwhelming pressure that would probably make him crack, skating was fun. ]
No, there's something important I want to do, but other than that it's just for fun.
no subject
Could I ask what it is you want to do?
[He'll stop asking questions soon, he just needs to know exactly how to help.]
no subject
I uh... t-there's a message I want to get across to someone that means a lot to me. Something I can't really put into words, so...
[ ...the fact that he is already beet red probably isn't helping him at the moment. ]
no subject
[Otabek could understand that. His eyes flick to Adachi's cheeks, the red tint, and for the briefest moment, he smiles.]
You have feelings for someone and you want to perform for them. [His head tips to the side. It didn't take much to come to a possible conclusion.] Viktor?
no subject
I-it's complicated. B-but I know the kinda music and everything, I just... don't know enough of everything else.
[ His face is steadily getting redder and redder as he speaks, until he finally just clams back up, finding the toe picks on his skates interesting all of a sudden. ]
no subject
Yes. [Otabek doesn't know that he's soon to be in a similar situation.] If you have music picked out, you should work on the choreography. Pick the steps and moves, then practice.
no subject
[ Adachi finally looked back at him then. ]
The music's just a demo, and it's on Viktor's music player. I need to snatch it from him when he isn't looking -- which isn't hard, really -- and get it to a musician to fill in the rest of the music. I need to figure out what steps and moves would go where to get out the right kind of feeling and--
[ He's put a lot of thought into this. Otabek might want to stop him before he rambles himself into a hole in the ice. ]
no subject
[Otabek folds his arms over his chest, head tipped to the side in confusion.]
That doesn't mean you shouldn't try. [A beat.] And Yuuri? Viktor is with him.
no subject
[ Adachi let out a sigh, his shoulders drooping. ]
I'm still getting used to the fact that guys loving each other is not a big deal. Two guys at once makes my head hurt. Like am I coming off insincere? Confused? Is two people okay? I don't even know, just that I'm probably doing it wrong.
[ He paused a moment, before letting out a sheepish noise. ]
...sorry. You don't even know me, and this has been a hell of a personal info dump.
no subject
[Other skaters and in general. There was still prejudice in the world, but he didn't give those voices an ear.]
Do you think it's insincere to have feelings for more than one person? I don't know that I can give advice on love. My own heart doesn't always speak loudly to me. [He's eighteen and inexperienced with romance.] But if you love them, it can't be wrong.
It's fine. This is the longest I've spoken to anyone else besides Yuri.
no subject
[ He let out abreath, rubbing at the back of his neck. It was still hard for him to accept that it was fine and there was nothing wrong with it. It was just adding to the fact that he was unsure what his real self was like. ]
I'm not sure if it's insincere or not... this is all new to me. It's the most positive interaction I've had with people in... ever?
[ There was Dojima of course, but... that was just a complicated bundle of emotional pain. ]
no subject
[Otabek couldn't say what would happen between Adachi, Viktor, and Yuuri. It could end well or badly or neutrally. Life had a way of doing whatever it wanted.]
I'd like to skate now, but we could meet again? I would still like to help.
no subject
Yeah, I should take off anyway. I've got some things to take care of. Nice meeting you, Otabek.
