Let the Outreach begin
WHO: Apollo, Nike, and NPC metahumans
WHERE: Mauritia Falls
WHEN: 5/24-6/30
WHAT: Apollo and Nike team up to do their part for the Metahuman Outreach.
WARNINGS: N/A
Andrew stares down at the piece of paper in his hand, re-reading his scrawling handwriting, before looking back up at the sight before him. A guy has set up a stand on the street corner, with dozen of his art pieces laid out for display. Though the term art piece can be used lightly in this case, as the strange looking animal portraits have got to be some of the ugliest things he's ever seen. This has to be the guy they're looking for. Jayden Bell.
But instead of approaching, Andrew hangs back and watches Jayden's pathetic attempts to sell his art for awhile. He doesn't seem like an immediate threat, but that can change as soon as his partner arrives and starts in with the questioning. He's only here as back-up and needed muscle after all. Besides, Nike will probably do a better job setting their targets at ease than he would, what with him being a six foot tall tower of muscle albeit with a nice smile.
She should be getting here any minute...

All she could do was inspect the pieces of art on display along with the artist as well. Nike didn't have much to react with when she was more concern in finding Apollo first. Fortunately, he wasn't difficult to find since she has spoken to him once before and was eye-catching as well. A tall, muscular individual with blond hair would easily stand out in a sea of shorter and less capable men and women.
With a smile, she'll wave a hand towards him before heading his general direction, "Sorry, I'm late! It took a while to head on over here from the porter stations." Returning her attention back to the art seller, Nike will ask, "Is that our guy?"

He smiles when he finally spots Nike coming towards him through the crowd. Their first interaction over the network had been enjoyable, and she seems sweet. Plus, it's nice knowing someone in the same business he's in. He'll have to remember to ask her for some more pointers later on.
"It's not a problem. I haven't been here too long myself." He nods in answer to her question. "Yep. That's our guy. Jayden Bell. Fire-breather extraordinaire and...really crappy artist apparently." Andrew isn't quite sure what any of the paintings are supposed to be. "When I said we should team-up one of these days, this isn't exactly how I'd pictured it."

"But, hey, this will be good practice before the actual one though," added Nike before turning her attention to Jayden Bell. His paintings will catch her attention as well. It was certainly unique, she notes. Taking out a small notebook, Nike will begin to take quick notes of her surroundings, his art, appearance, and abilities that Andrew had mention. She couldn't help find it interesting to note that he was a fire-breather.
"Before we go in to talk to him, what are your powers?" asked Nike next as she couldn't help feel a tad bit curious about it. Before giving him the chance to admit anything, she'll inform him, "I can control the weather via singing, levitate, and transform into weapons through the connection of my rain partners." She figure it would be a good idea for her current partner to be inform of her current abilities just like she should have an idea of his, just in case.

Andrew glances back over at Nike and notices that she's pulled out a notebook and is writing something down. He leans over, trying to get a look at the page. "What's this?" If she's noticed something that could prove useful for their investigation then it's only right that he knows as well.
He's not surprised by the question and answers easily. "I can fly, have super-strength, and can shoot solar energy out of my hands and eyes." He doesn't mention the fact that his powers and life rely on a steady source of sunlight. But that's not something he shares freely with people he doesn't know well. "You can transform into weapons? What kind?" He looks at her with newfound interest. "And...what's a rain partner?"
good lord, i am so sorry, i just found this tag 8(
In her notebook, she had the bit of information Andrew has informed her, his fire-breathing powers, and information concerning his appearance, demeanor, and art. She can tell off the bat that he may be the type to be swayed by money than anything else; and even if they do pay him, it may be difficult to determine if the information they gain will be correct or truthful. It would be better to figure out a way to gain his trust without having to use money as an incentive to speak.
"Solar energy out of your hands and eyes? That sounds pretty cool. Seems like you and our target are in the same elemental team," pointed out Nike, realizing solar energy was a type of fire energy, if not the very best source. "As far as I know, whatever my partner has experience in. The more you know about your weapon, the better the transformation will be. I don't know if there are limits though. I've changed into a katana a few times before. I haven't had many partners yet," admitted Nike without a second thought, as she was relying on her current memories over the matter. She may need to reread her file once more. "Oh, a rain partner is a sort of contract I create with those I trust to summon the rain, create a stronger connection with, and change my form. It's an ability from home. A rain summoner usually is need of a partner as a way to gain a better understanding of their surroundings in order to create a powerful resonance to summon and control the weather," added Nike as she tried to find the simplest way to explain it all as. She won't reveal about her rain water created with a partner has healing properties to them.
it's all good! as you can see I'm lagging too
Which isn't an idea Andrew is totally against. He's sure that between him and Nike they could afford to split the cost of one of the paintings without harming their budgets too much. The importance of what they're doing supersedes the loss of a little money. From his point of view anyways.
"So, you can possibly turn into any type of weapon, depending on your partner's knowledge? That's some range you've got."
lagging is a good word, but i should be able to be reliable in tagging now. what a month its been
As much as she has no qualms in splitting the bill, Nike was still sensible whenever it came to money considering she has seen and experience living in a nation with limited resources. Starving does have a way of changing one's perceptions on the value of money.
Even so, her attention will return to Andrew with a sheepish smile forming, "It's useful! I can protect both my partner and target from physical harm. I like to think of it more as a protective skill than offense or defensive as I can do both." She doesn't like the idea of being known as a "weapon". After all, she made a promise to her grandmother to never use her powers to harm others, and she considers her porter given ones to be counted in that promise. That's the reason she needs to defend even their wallets. How can they get information from their objective without using money?
A though may pop up as she realizes, "Hey, we're both part of the weather team of our respective stations, right?" Because if it that was the case, then she'll add, "Does your team consider you just a pretty face forecaster or low level reporter?"
