[Leonard is home and currently leaning against the door frame, inspecting the elaborate dinner being spread out on the table. Home-cooked meal, even bewildering to him when it isn't delivered in this especially strange way.]
What's the catch?
no subject
A moment later, he reappeared with another puff of the shadows, and more food. ]
The catch is, you have to eat it. Sounds simple enough, yes?
no subject
Simple enough. I'm just not used to shadow delivery.
Or any homecooking for that matter. But here I am, Trickster and Shade putting dinner on the table.

[ Another vanish, and reappearance. This time -- it's wine. Of course it's wine. ]
You are a lucky man, stick around us for long enough, and you'll likely never have to cook again. [ Shade says, as if he is one of the Rogues, when he's more... tangentially related, but with no Jack around, he has to have someone to spend time with. He's bored. ]
no subject
Never really been a cook, so that's good news. I'm not used to home-cooked food.
[Not at home either, not ever as such. But Shade cooks, Trickster cooks and now there's alcohol.]
I ain't complaining.
no subject
[ Like Shade would ever serve dinner without wine. What is he, a plebian?
Next is the Absinthe, though. That's just pretentious. ]
At least all my efforts won't be wasted, yes? [ A pause. ] You are going to sit down, before you eat?
no subject
[He looks at the table, shaking his head a little.]
You like living it up.
no subject
[ He said. Bluntly. ] Besides, I don't need to eat, so a sublime experience is crucial.
no subject
[Leonard pushes away from the wall, walking further into the room and inspecting the table critically.]
So this is sublime?
no subject
[ He waved a hand, dismissively. ]
But after two-hundred years, I am quite good.
no subject
[Slight mockery is easier than to fully wrap his mind around all of this. Shadow powers.]
I never got into cooking much.
no subject
I've enough money and all the time in the world, I'm hardly going to waste it all for others. I'm not quite that self sacrificing.
[ A pause. ]
That, of course, is why I was a supervillain, and not a hero.
no subject
[Leonard does finally pull out a chair, although he's not sitting down just yet.]
What's in it for you?
no subject
[ He brushed his shoulder. ]
I'm a very bored individual, you see.
no subject
I know how that can be. I ain't the most entertained person right now either.
no subject
[ Shade's lip curled, and an eyebrow rose. ]
Why do you think I'm cooking so much?
[ He asked, waving a hand. ]
I need something to do.
no subject
[He's also not about to eat while they are talking and he'd just be sitting here eating with Shade watching, because that feels all kinds of odd. So he just sits an watches him instead.]
I'll have to look for something to do that's more up my alley.
no subject
[ He said, with a laugh.
Well, if Cold wasn't going to eat... Shade would. Just because he didn't need to eat didn't mean he couldn't. He did, and more than was probably necessary. ]
Perhaps I can turn you in the correct direction.
no subject
Sure thing, old man. Turn me.
no subject
It's true. ]
Let's see if I have you correct -- cold gun, penchant for grand larceny... What other skills are we missing, before we get you in the right direction?
no subject
[There's more to him, but Len's always sold himself short, at least in words. Deeds, that's another matter.]
I don't have my gun. Yet. But I can tell you that I've never found much to do in the right direction.
no subject
Who among us does?
[ Asks the immortal that guards an entire city -- either through illicit means or otherwise. ]
Have you thought about using those talents for... better purposes? I can assure you, the crime thing gets a touch old after a while. Boring, even.
no subject
[Not everyone can be immortal.]
But if you ever need an immortal dictator taken out, that's on my resumé, so point the way.
no subject
[ A grin, then. ]
I don't get along with the rest of the immortals. Go figure.
no subject
[He has to be honest, he doesn't have the best immortal killing track record.]
