Iiiiiiii think that was like, an urban legend or something? Maybe? Mom believed it though, she always made me take my Halloween candy to this hospital near us that would x-ray it, 'just in case.'

[Clearly she is not concerned, judging from the rate those cookies are disappearing.]

Totally magic. Only figured it out 'cause of another magic person telling me.

And I'm assuming that other magic person had the magic on good authority to begin with?

And metas are people with genetic powers? Like mutates? [ He just takes a cookie as well ]

My world doesn't have that many superpowers, that's why I'm asking.

Now that's interesting. I wonder why some universes have superhero everything and others don't? You'd think it'd be all relatively similar, Earth can't have diverged that much, and yet...

[ there's an unspoken "and yet some worlds have BONKERS amounts of superheroes" ]

No clue. But this place isn't anything like home. I mean, even without the superhero junk. Like...

The city I was born in, Metropolis? Doesn't exist here. And the city I was staying in last doesn't either!

The map is the same but everything on it is shuffled around. Or gone.

[Which was...actually a little depressing, which shines through in spite of her cookie high.]

How strange....with me, it's less of places not like the Earth I know, but more of events. My Earth's a bit more prone to alien invasions than this one, which is depressingly alien-free.

[ well, except for him, of course. ]

We've had those too! When I was a kid this thing called Warworld attacked. It was like...this giant planet in the sky? And I know a couple superheroes have like, alien powers. Plus there's Superman.

[Big famous most-alien but awesome. Also he didn't like Charlie oops.]

I've been reading about stuff here though, and it seems like the weirdest thing that happens is us.

We've had giant planets almost ram into Earth before! [ and he's just so happy about this, whoo hoo bonding points ] Though mine was Gallifrey.

But you're right: you'd think that there would be more strange things here.

Dang. That's worse than what we had, it was just a normal invasion.

Maybe the weirdness is the unusual and this place is how it normally works.

But if weirdness is unusual, then why are so many places weird? It'll bring the weirdness down to normal which wouldn't make it weird in the first place!

Iiiii think that'd be more like, perspective though wouldn't it? Like, even if it's normal for some people it's still weird for everyone else?

Maybe. So question! Would the average joe think that superheroes were normal in your world?

And they've been around since the 40s? The Justice Society was a thing during World War 2 I think.

So I guess normal? Or like. Common?

So your common is my weird. And, based on the alien invasions, my common is your weird. So what if, and bear with me here, what if there's an Earth where nothing happens? No superheroes, no alien invasions, no people coming in from other dimensions, picture the most boring, most dull Earth you can think of.

And now picture that poor person getting ported in here.

Depends on the superpower! My Time Lord self counted as a superpower, but I can also create chalk from nothing. That's useful, but not really a superpower.
