( from here )

[ Nah girl, have at it, the Doctor isn't stopping her as she reaches over for the cookies. He's swimming in baked goods over here and still holds the box of cookies out for Misfit to have one. ]

The razor blades are in the cake if you're worried. [ A pause and then. ] It's a joke, of course, is that still a worry? Or am I confusing this decade with the 1970s again?
foreverbouncing: (And I want a pony...and a blimp...and a)

[personal profile] foreverbouncing 2016-04-25 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
[Cookie! She has two. Because she has two hands. And she takes a big bite of one before kind of raising an eyebrow at him.]

Iiiiiiii think that was like, an urban legend or something? Maybe? Mom believed it though, she always made me take my Halloween candy to this hospital near us that would x-ray it, 'just in case.'

[Clearly she is not concerned, judging from the rate those cookies are disappearing.]

Wouldn't matter anyway, razors wouldn't stop me!
helpline: (~jazz hands~)

[personal profile] helpline 2016-04-26 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Why's that? Is that one of your superpowers, immunity to razors?

[ He can create chalk out of his pockets, it's a valid question. ]
foreverbouncing: (Feelin' Awesome.)

[personal profile] foreverbouncing 2016-04-26 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
[She smirks.] That'd be pretty crazy limited, huh?

But nah. I'm just awesome. [A beat.] Also magic?
helpline: (kind of disgruntled)

[personal profile] helpline 2016-04-26 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Magic how? [ because he's on the sci-fi end of the sci-fi/fantasy bookshelf ]
foreverbouncing: (I am so going to enjoy this.)

[personal profile] foreverbouncing 2016-04-26 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
...No clue, actually? [She shrugs.] 'cause like, I thought I wasn't. Like, just an ordinary meta type buuuut nope.

Totally magic. Only figured it out 'cause of another magic person telling me.

[Charlie sure managed to say a lot without answering the question.]
helpline: (~jazz hands~)

[personal profile] helpline 2016-04-27 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
And I'm assuming that other magic person had the magic on good authority to begin with?
foreverbouncing: (Awesome!)

[personal profile] foreverbouncing 2016-04-27 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah. She's a magic thief. Only works with magic, not metas and junk.

[Takes another cookie.]

So like, when she swiped my powers, bam. Knew they were magic.
helpline: (glasses: doctor cool)

[personal profile] helpline 2016-04-28 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
And metas are people with genetic powers? Like mutates? [ He just takes a cookie as well ]

My world doesn't have that many superpowers, that's why I'm asking.
foreverbouncing: (Bummin' Around.)

[personal profile] foreverbouncing 2016-04-28 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. Well, don't call them that, that sounds mean.

[Big shrug.]

My world's crawlin' with 'em.
helpline: (~jazz hands~)

[personal profile] helpline 2016-04-29 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Now that's interesting. I wonder why some universes have superhero everything and others don't? You'd think it'd be all relatively similar, Earth can't have diverged that much, and yet...

[ there's an unspoken "and yet some worlds have BONKERS amounts of superheroes" ]
foreverbouncing: (Oh come on...)

[personal profile] foreverbouncing 2016-04-29 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
No clue. But this place isn't anything like home. I mean, even without the superhero junk. Like...

The city I was born in, Metropolis? Doesn't exist here. And the city I was staying in last doesn't either!

The map is the same but everything on it is shuffled around. Or gone.

[Which was...actually a little depressing, which shines through in spite of her cookie high.]
helpline: (hrrrrrm)

[personal profile] helpline 2016-04-29 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
How strange....with me, it's less of places not like the Earth I know, but more of events. My Earth's a bit more prone to alien invasions than this one, which is depressingly alien-free.

[ well, except for him, of course. ]
foreverbouncing: (It's just over there)

[personal profile] foreverbouncing 2016-04-29 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
We've had those too! When I was a kid this thing called Warworld attacked. It was like...this giant planet in the sky? And I know a couple superheroes have like, alien powers. Plus there's Superman.

[Big famous most-alien but awesome. Also he didn't like Charlie oops.]

I've been reading about stuff here though, and it seems like the weirdest thing that happens is us.
helpline: (griiiiiiin)

[personal profile] helpline 2016-04-30 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
We've had giant planets almost ram into Earth before! [ and he's just so happy about this, whoo hoo bonding points ] Though mine was Gallifrey.

But you're right: you'd think that there would be more strange things here.
foreverbouncing: (So it's kinda like this ya know?)

[personal profile] foreverbouncing 2016-05-01 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Dang. That's worse than what we had, it was just a normal invasion.

['Normal' invasion. Ugh.]

Maybe the weirdness is the unusual and this place is how it normally works.
helpline: (~jazz hands~)

[personal profile] helpline 2016-05-01 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
But if weirdness is unusual, then why are so many places weird? It'll bring the weirdness down to normal which wouldn't make it weird in the first place!

[ hopefully she gets that. ]
foreverbouncing: (...What?)

[personal profile] foreverbouncing 2016-05-02 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
[It takes her a second to process through that.]

Iiiii think that'd be more like, perspective though wouldn't it? Like, even if it's normal for some people it's still weird for everyone else?

Maybe?
helpline: (glasses: doctor cool)

[personal profile] helpline 2016-05-02 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe. So question! Would the average joe think that superheroes were normal in your world?
foreverbouncing: (Can I help?)

[personal profile] foreverbouncing 2016-05-03 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
Iiiiiii...hmm. Maybe? We're kind of everywhere.

And they've been around since the 40s? The Justice Society was a thing during World War 2 I think.

So I guess normal? Or like. Common?
helpline: (~jazz hands~)

[personal profile] helpline 2016-05-03 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
So your common is my weird. And, based on the alien invasions, my common is your weird. So what if, and bear with me here, what if there's an Earth where nothing happens? No superheroes, no alien invasions, no people coming in from other dimensions, picture the most boring, most dull Earth you can think of.

And now picture that poor person getting ported in here.
foreverbouncing: (Alone)

[personal profile] foreverbouncing 2016-05-04 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
...That sounds completely horrible.

[Did she mean the poor guy getting ported in, or that really boring world? Who can say!]
helpline: (for fuck's sake)

[personal profile] helpline 2016-05-04 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Doesn't it though?

[ he means both as well. ]
foreverbouncing: (What's everybody lookin' at?)

[personal profile] foreverbouncing 2016-05-05 08:49 am (UTC)(link)
But at least here they'd get a superpower when they show up? I mean, it won't be as awesome as mine but it would still be something?

A nice save from the boring.
helpline: (~jazz hands~)

[personal profile] helpline 2016-05-05 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends on the superpower! My Time Lord self counted as a superpower, but I can also create chalk from nothing. That's useful, but not really a superpower.
