[Oh. Oh man.

She was headed for the training center, but at spotting Ken and Koromaru she has to stop and pull out her phone. Toggling to the camera, she waves at them, laughing.]

Ken! Say cheese.

[amadaman]

[Ken does not smile but gives her the most carefully constructed stoneface.

And raises his hand in a peace sign, saying,] Cheese, [still very much acting like Minato]

[This is the best day of her life. She snaps the picture and gives him a thumbs up before stepping over.]

I should have bought a soul patch.

Has Jaime seen you yet?

[amadaman]

I'm gonna send him a photo later, but not yet.

[He has to pick up the end of the beard and tuck it into his hoodie pocket. It's long enough to hit his knees, even with the piece he cut off for the dog tagging along beside him.]

What is a soul patch, anyway?

It's this little patch of hair just under the lip, but not quite on the chin that hipsters wear to feel cool.

[She looks it up to show him a picture. It's probably unflattering to say that it's a hipster look, but she grew up in California and half the picture are either celebrities or Generic White Guy (tm).]

[Ken tries to imagine it while she's looking for her photos and scrunches up his face]

Sounds pretty uncomfortable, honestly.

[maglevflash]

[Aha! An exception to the rules.]

Looks uncomfortable, but it's a burden I would have borne willingly in order to honor Jaime's subconscious. ["Honor".]

[Ken can't help but laugh a little at that. Honor. Right.]

Maybe it's not too late yet.

[There's a thoughtful pause.]

You know what? You're right. I bet with the right kind of brush I can just make one, too.

[amadaman]

I'm gonna ask a friend of mine to send him a photo later, so maybe you can do it too.

[maglevflash]

It suits you, you know. [She crouches down to address Koro as well.] Both of you. You look all wise now. Distinguished.

[amadaman]

This might be his natural look. Koromaru isn't as young as everyone thinks he is -- he's all grown up already.

But thanks. I'm sure you'll be able to pull off that soul patch thing too.

[She smirks, amused.]

So where were you off to?

[amadaman]

Um, just around to the store. I promised Koromaru new tennis balls because he has to share with Capsule sometimes. You?

[maglevflash]

Oh yeah, Capsule's getting big now, isn't he? [She hasn't seen Kaneda's puppy in awhile, but goldens tend to grow fast. Those balls probably don't last as long anymore.]

I was just heading out to box a bit. Got some catching up to do now that everything's healed.

[amadaman]

Yeah-- you box?

[Ken's eyes light up at that new piece of information.]

I didn't know that! Do you practice with Akihiko-san?

[maglevflash]

I do. Picked it up last summer, actually. Kickboxed a little at home but never went anywhere with it.

Don't have any current partners, though. Think Akihiko'd be willing to take one on? Beats hitting a bag for two hours.

[amadaman]

He'll take on any opponent that knows or wants to know how to throw a punch. He admires people who have to willpower to get stronger, because he's so straightforward. And you do, don't you?

[maglevflash]

Every day. Wouldn't have anything to do all day if I didn't. [She pulls her comm out to leave herself a note to get in touch with him in the future.]
