my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
WHO: Steve Rogers and YOU, FAM
WHERE: The Lucky Cat Café in Heropa.
WHEN: Shortly after this post.
WHAT: You want smoothies? You get smoothies. Come catch up with ol' Cap while he gets the low down on everything he's missed — or, if you've never met, get a smoothie on the house anyway. He's not picky.
WARNINGS: None expected.
[ Well hey there, buckarino; here to collect on a free beverage, are you? Or hey, maybe you're just here when the big man with the plan comes by and figure it's a good time to get to know his pretty mug, that's cool too. One way or the other, Captain Rogers is here at the café for the purpose of seeing some faces, old or new — and for the excuse of bringing business to Cass as the first of many apologies for being away. Man's gotta start someplace, doesn't he? He shows up dressed down in a plain t-shirt and jeans after stashing his shield and gear at home, and takes a seat at the front where he can be easily found. Grab a drink at the counter, pull up a chair if you see fit, and get ready to be debriefed; Steve's got a hell of a lot of catching up to do. ]

Careful; don't wanna hurt yourself there.

[Landing badly on those steel muscles would've probably hurt. But that's Steve for you -- he wouldn't have let that happen! She lets herself hang there in a the hug for a few seconds, squeezing tight.]
You're back!
no subject
Sure seems that way.
[ He lets her hold on for as long as she likes before he leans back to look her over, checking for anything important he may have missed. Making sure she's been safe. ]
Did you take good care of yourself while I was gone?
no subject
[She's looking whole. And uninjured, too! She never sustained any injuries that lasted or left permanent marks. No notable grey hairs, either, as she lands back on her feet and raises a hand to his cheek, looking him over, too.]
Got to make sure I was here for you to come back to, right?

Miles himself cuts an unusual figure. 4'8" at most, with a curved back and leg braces, though the latter two are mostly hidden under his utterly mundane hoodie/jeans combo. Still, he has a faintly military bearing to him, and he swaggers enough to take up the space of a person twice his height. (He also looks exceedingly like Hermann, thanks facetwin PBs.) ]
You're a new face. Or an old one returning?
[ Given Cass' reaction, he assumes the latter. ]
no subject
Old one returning.
[ Steve gets to his feet and offers his hand; he recognizes another man who's served his country, and responds with the according camaraderie. ]
Steve Rogers.

Welcome back, then. I'm Miles Naismith. [ He glances over Steve, recognizing that military sort of look in turn. ] Admiral - yourself?
no subject
He had not seen Steve's message so wasn't expecting a free anything when he ordered a tropical flavor smoothie. He'd heard about these things but hadn't yet indulged in one. Today was a first!
Taking his smoothie, he tried to balance the beverage in one hand, while navigating his chair back away from the counter. He was getting better at handling the chair, in general but occasionally circumstances still got the better of him.. He managed to get himself out of the way of the other customers but in doing so, backed himself in behind a set of tables where he then ended up stuck. ]
Bother. [ He remarked, taking his hand off the large wheels and pausing for a moment to study his predicament. ] Left turn at Albuquerque and all that...
no subject
There we go. One sec—
[ The owner of said hand steps into view to scoot the other table out of the way before straightening up, making sure nothing else is stuck. ]
All good?
no subject
That is ... ah, I mean. Pardon. [ Gawk later, professor, shift your arse now.
Balancing the smoothing in between his knees, Charles took advantage of the space provided and rolled his chair out of trouble. However, rather than keep wheeling, he stopped and turned the chair about, looking back at Steve. ]
Thank you, for the assistance. That was, impressive. [ Rolling a little bit further, he sat forward and extended his hand, smiling in a friendly manner. ]
Professor Charles Xavier.
no subject
Oh my god.
[She hadn't meant to say that out loud.]
Sorry, it's just you are-!
[Well now she's just embarrassing herself.]
Well you know who you are. I'm Skye.
[Shoot her. Please.]
no subject
Yeah, I get that sometimes.
[ Most times. Lots of times. ]
Nice to meet you, Skye. Mind if I ask if I'm a person or a comic book character where you come from?
no subject
Oh. Well, um, comic books have been made after you and the others? If that's what you mean...
Otherwise, yeah, you're a person. Although that's questionable sometimes. What with the-
[Skye gestures towards his body. Immediately regretting it but still blurting out.]
Muscles and all.
what a perfect day for this :'D
Spotting said stranger was easy enough, and Akito makes quick work of hurrying up to the counter to order a strawberry smoothie, a bunch of macarons (to hopefully share later on), and some orange sponge cake before taking a seat in front of the unfamiliar man. Akito isn't hesitant or shy - rather the opposite, really. Putting his drink and sweets down on the table, he plops down onto his chair like he's known the stranger his whole life. ]
Hi, Mister Free Smoothies! Do you want a macaron?
no subject
I'm good, thanks. And the name's Steve; it's a little easier than "Mister Free Smoothies."
no subject
Mister Steve, then! Though Mister Free Smoothies still works, ne?
[ he tucks his macarons away into his bag, planning to share them with Callaghan later on. once finished with that, Akito turns his attention back to Steve. ]
Are you a friend of Hiro's auntie?
no subject
M slips into the chair opposite Steve, dressed in a short-sleeved white button down and jeans, and flashes him his best smile.]
I'll take you up on that smoothie, but only if I can buy you [His eyes dart over to the menu board.] a "goodie" in exchange.
I see you there M don't be mean to his bro
no subject
Hey, you're the guy responsible for the free smoothies, right? Thanks!
no subject
This is the best welcoming I've gotten in a while. Thanks for the freebie.
no subject
Mostly because his appetite -- and need for the biggest size, packed with more protein than is really necessary -- which only added to the price. He wasn't about to let Steve pay -- which was why he didn't really make sure Steve noticed him until he already had the monstrosity in hand, and headed to his table with a grin. ]
I saw you're back. Settling in okay?
no subject
It seems you were missed.
[Unlike his son with that hellishly sugary drink (may god help Heropa in about five minutes), Aral's accent is decidedly Russian flavored.]
no subject
[Jacob had headed out to Heropa and the Lucky Cat as soon as he saw Steve's return post. Rogers coming back is one of the first genuinely good things he has seen happen in the last two lousy, crappy months. He approaches with a smile on his face and hand outstretched to shake.]
Damn good to see you again. How are you doing?
