Come bother a Rival?

WHO: Nikolai and YOU!
WHERE: All over the place, Heropa 002.
WHEN: The day after this, until July 13th
WHAT: Nikolai's either: at home, or out and about, or feeding his pokemon.
WARNINGS: Will be updated as needed, but implied animal death, and a giant vampire-bat in two of the prompts.

1; In the house - Open to housemates and anyone that would have a reason to be there.
[If he's not outside away from the house, then he's inside, either watching TV, studying/reading, eating - or complaining about not being able to find X food thing from his world, though he's probably found plenty of substitutes- or various other things like hogging the couch or sorting though his new clothes or whatever.

Annoy him? Bother him? talk to him? Pester him? The choice is yours.]

2; Out and about - OPEN; all over the Porter Cities.
A)
[What's a better way to cure boredom - and get his mind off a few Things - than to go exploring. Naturally he's exploring everywhere he can, be it Heropa, or one of the other Porter Cities.

He thinks it'll take him days to just find his way around the places and find all the interesting things to do in this Dumb World, but he's not complaining. Part of being a travelling trainer is about seeing new places and all that jazz. Plus, it's something to do other than study and 'volunteer' at the stupid animal shelter, and things to look at he doesn't want to inflict violence upon.

Though some of the things he's finding truly are bizarre by his standards, and he is going to stare at them whenever he finds them.] Well, that's dumb. Why would they do something like that?

[There are probably many things he could say that about.]

B)
[Of course, exploring has another meaning, too. He's looking for pokemon - even going so far as to look in dumpsters- and he's not finding any.

It all adds up to very frustrated Nikolai.] Come on! Where are they?

3; Feeding his pokemon - OPEN; all over the Porter Cities.
A)
[Even in this world, he still has to feed them, and at least two of them are easy enough. One he can even go to the butcher's for and get animal blood - the real stuff. He typically visits around closing time, and typically feeds the golbat in an out of the way corner of a park.

Mostly because giant blood-sucking bat, and he knows not everyone is used to watching a golbat feed, even if it is from a container.] Hmph. Here you go. Drink up.

[The golbat is more than happy too, and Nikolai is more than happy to keep watch while the pokemon gorges itself on blood.]

B)
[Every otherish afternoon when he's not 'volunteering' at the animal shelter he was assigned to, or studying or whatever, he can be found somewhere where there's water; river, lake, bay, beach. Take your pick.

He has a giant crocodile to feed, and he's not shy about letting it hunt when possible. For its part, the croc just seems happy to be in the water - or basking in the sun for a bit while Nikolai keeps a watchful eye out. With no worthy trainers around, he supposes he can let the croc enjoy the sun for a time.]

C)
[It's much, much harder to feed a haunter, but not impossible and Niko's never been shy about what it eats. While most nights he just walks around one of the Porter Cities with the haunter a few feet away from him as it takes a bite out of the life-energy of random animals, every three or so nights, he can be found letting the ghost hunt an animal or two.

It's not a pleasant sight, what with the haunter either chasing the poor critter, or licking it so it won't stop shaking until it dies. Nikolai trails after his pokemon, bag in hand. Like, he's not going to waste the meat thank you very much.

It's useful, and he can feed it to his feraligatr later or something. At the same time, he's not going to allow the ghost to go after humans, and if it does start to do that, well - Nikolai's command is sharp and curt and directed at the ghost and he walks towards it.] Get back here.

[Since it seemed like he was stuck here for a while, Blue had had to adjust his training routine a little bit- but he still mostly did the same things. Three times a day, letting his Pokémon out and about for free roam to exercise was important, whether people knew what they were in this place or not. Besides, he thought to himself smugly, they could take care of themselves.]

[Arcanine generally liked to stick to him anyways, so he went walking with it and took the opportunity each time to explore more of the city he was based in, now. The downtown was a lot like Saffron or Celadon; it reminded him of the busy industrial area around where Silph Co. was based. All in all, this world wasn't very different from his, except for total lack of Pokémon.]

[He sees the flash of red hair down the block, the kid hauled up and poking into a dumpster.] That's that kid the Team Aqua leader was chewin' out... [He mumbles to himself. He frowns, feeling a ping of recognition that he can't place. Walking up behind him with Arcanine, he calls out as he stops some feet away, voice carrying a typical but not put-on tone of haughtiness.] There's no wild Pokémon here, you know. Everyone already said so.

Yea, right- [He tosses back without looking. There's a few more seconds as he extracts himself from the dumpster, dropping down with a steady grace, slamming the lid with slightly more force than needed, as if that would make a pokemon suddenly appear.]There's always pokemon around.

[Said as he turns around - and stalling for a second -yes, he recognised you Blue, even if you are older, but whatever. A scowl soon forms.] Hmph. Have you even looked?

Um, duh, because everyone wouldn't be asking what they are if there were. [He answers in the snottiest possible tone, rolling his eyes. It's not until Niko turns around that he blinks in surprise as he finally sees the boy's face close-up, and the recognition settles in.]

[Followed by the spread of a nasty, cocky grin.] Ohhh, it's you! No wonder you won't listen to anyone.

What'd you say to piss that guy off so much, anyway? Tell him Aqua's a bunch of weaklings, too? Well, you're not wrong, I guess. Anyway, you get any stronger or you still busy whining and blaming your Pokémon.

[He was gonna saying something else to everything, but -

It's the guy who basically 'ruined' Viridian Gym. Y a y. His life. Still, it's a Gymleader, and his stance is respectful enough to pass muster, even if his voice still cold.] I'd recall meeting you face to face, Gymleader.

[Blue raises an eyebrow, just barely containing another eyeroll. Well, it does occur to him that this kid ought to be a little older than he was when he last saw him... And he really looks exactly the same. Weird.]

Aw, are you still on about that? [Okay, eyeroll this time.] I told you, the Gym was empty, Pokémon League asked me to fill it, simple as that! Not my problem your old man was a weakling.

[Nikolai stiffens with an intake of air.

He didn't know the new Gymleader knew who he was.

Ok. He can deal with this. Because right now? being linked to his dad? VERY MUCH NO.] I have no idea what you mean.

Sure you don't. [Blue says flatly, raising a brow. Whatever. What Giovanni's brat did was none of his business, just like his dad.]

[All he cared was whether he'd become a strong trainer or not.] If I remember right, you have a Feraligatr, right? [He frowns slightly. That was weird; then why did something in his head keep telling him he was a Dark and Dragon trainer? In fact, he couldn't remember this guy having Dragon types at all, when he'd battled him...] Hmph. Maybe if you learned to train your Pokémon properly, you wouldn't be so desperate to find new ones.

[Ugh. Another one.]

Hmph. How I train them is none of your business. [Nope, he's not a dragon trainer.

And while Blue's Theme has kicked in - Earning a WTF look from Niko, so has Niko's theme, only everyone can hear it.]

Sure it isn't, but you'll keep getting pummeled unless you get better. But hey, don't let me keep you from staying a weak, sore loser forever! Hahaha! [Blue shrugs as he laughs, hands in the air, and shakes his head.]

[...He's still mid-shrug when he stops, quirks an eyebrow, then glances up, and then around.] ...What the heck is that music?...

I would be getting better if this stupid world followed logic! [Blue, there's no pokemon. And yes, he will cry you a river over it.

Music... Oh. Right. That.] It starts playing when I talk to people.

I guess you have a point. [He cocks his head.] But there's trainers here, anyway. It's boring, but what you have to fix has nothing to do with there being wild Pokémon, hmph. Not that I like to admit that Red was right.

[And anyway, it's only because his grandfather said it. Really.]

[The look he gives Niko is somewhere between 'are you crazy' and 'this kid is crazy'] What does that mean? Like you have a radio on? [He glances Niko up and down, trying to figure out where it was coming from. He doesn't see a Pokégear on him...]

[LIKE, HOLD THE PHONE.

ON EVERYTHING.] Did you say Red?

Huh?

[Blue scowls, tilts his head, then--]

[Oh]

[Right]

[Uh]

Get over it.

[Nailed it.]

Get over it?

[Yea. That's... not a nice look on his face. At all.] Get over it? He. Ruined. My. Life.

Maybe your pops shouldn't have been a criminal then. [Blue snorts, expression devoid of sympathy.]

I told you this, kid, but he was a weakling! Sure, it wasn't worth my time to stop the Rockets, but that don't mean it's not a good thing he did! If not Red, then the cops woulda done it eventually. And then what, you'd blame them for doing their job? Puhhh-lease!

[Red might have been an insufferable goody twoshoes, but Blue never thought he hadn't done the right thing, exactly.]

[Rather than say anything - though he'd love to, Niko is going to take a swing at Blue.

It's mostly fueled by anger and hate and the fact that he really doesn't want to think about his father as anything other than a coward who ran the fuck away when he was defeated by a mere kid.]

Woah-- yeesh! [Blue yelps, stumbling back just in time for Niko's swing to whiff. Arcanine snarls and leaps forward at Niko, teeth bared as his Intimidate activated.]

ARK! ARK ARK ARK!--

[With the dog Pokémon now between them, Blue lets out an angry puff of air, glowering at Niko.] Hmph! Figures you'd just try to pick a fight, with the way you treat your Pokémon when they lose. Looks like you haven't learned your lesson, huh?

[Blue backs off a little, though it's mostly to put more space between them.] ...Whatever, Red's a sap that would just apologize to you anyway, if he was here.

[DSJDFLKJG

FUCK. FUCK HIS LIFE. That's like, the second time a pokemon has lunged at him, and he's scrambling back just a little, paler than normal.

Breath, Niko, breathe. This is not a sharpedo. This is a stupid arcanine, and these are loyal, so he can't blame it - yes he can, because the trainer should have it better trained so it doesn't lunge at people.] Keep a leash on that thing!

[Nope, still pale and shaken, but at least he still has his dignity.]

[Blue laughs sharply, hands raised in a shrug.] I don't need to. He knows better than to just attack people for no reason!

Unlike you, apparently.

[Arcanine is still growling, still has his hackles raised, but he makes no motions to actually lunge or snap at Niko since the boy backed off.]

Hmph. I have no idea what you even mean.

[As long as the arcanine stays where it is, everything is Fine.]

Says the kid that just took a swing cuz he can't handle the truth. Hah!

[Blue shrugs, while Arcanine remains steadfastly in front of his trainer.] So what, you're gonna challenge him for revenge? You won't win. You couldn't even beat many Gym Leaders, the way you are now.

Ha! Shows what you know. I have six badges, all of them from Johto.

[...All legit. I mean, his win streak is heavily implied to be basically that of a protag.]

[Un. Im. Pressed.]

A-huh. From Johto. The wimpier region of the Indigo League, hah! I mean, they have a Normal-type Gym. Doesn't get much wimpier than that!

[dat Miltank tho] Look here, kid. I wouldn't even let you battle me unless you had all of our badges. And I'm stronger than the Elite Four!

[But Red was on another level entirely, not that he'd ever say it out loud. This kid wouldn't stand a chance.]

Then let's see how good you are. [And - totally meeting Blue's eyes. Because Pokemon Logic says eye contact means a battle.

R I P Niko - and yes, that is his theme starting to get louder.]

[Niko's theme might have gotten louder to Blue- who frowns, what the heck is that, but for Niko, a different song suddenly overtook his own.]

I told you, kid, I wouldn't battle you for real unless you were actually strong! [Blue grins, hands shoved in his pockets. He begins to step back, though, give them some space.]

But if you wanna get squashed so bad... Let's show 'im, Arcanine!

ARK! [The dog Pokémon barks, facing Niko off tall and proud as it perks up, ready to battle.]
