"Yes, I've grown rather tired of production as well. I had plans to approach him about transitioning to research after the Maria-Francis Foundation launch, but that was before.. everything."
Before their boss revealed himself to be a megalomaniac alter ego- something they surely should have taken some notice of before.
"I have no intentions of exploring the wilds extensively, but yes, after all that, I'm only more interested in pursuing research. It was nice to create again for awhile, and with such wonderful resources, but there's so much work to be done regarding this world's idiosyncrasies and it's clear there's no real scientific collaboration efforts. But we've saved the world ourselves before, so surely we're capable of doing so again."
And this time they had an ace in the hole, albeit one they hadn't spoken about for quite some time.
"I can contact Dr. Xavier about the Foundation's research goals, but beyond that, I'm not certain what we should do in regards to research opportunities and grants. The government isn't going to approve of the majority of our research."
