( OPEN ) ; hey won't you come get wild like me?
WHO: Wanda Maximoff & OPEN.
WHERE: Around the various cities -- just state in your subject line in which city you'd like to have your character come across her.
WHEN: May 31st.
WHAT: A few prompts (all are open; also, please feel free to reply in brackets to any of these if you prefer, because I'm not picky).
WARNINGS: None to start, but I will edit this line if any come up.
01 | Flying around in any city
Some people get around by walking, some by running, some use various other methods. Wanda is using the 'various other methods' definition today, seeing as she is flying. Coming from her hands are trails of translucent scarlet, which dissipate behind her after a few seconds. She's not really going anywhere in particular, just getting some flying time in. The only downside she sees to flying so far is that she can't really wear her preferred outfit, which are shorter dresses with loose skirts; flying means pants. Anyone else with the ability to fly is certainly welcome to join her up here, but those without the ability of flight can find her occasionally touching down on a rooftop when she wants a short break, or even touching down on the sidewalk.
02 | Stopping for coffee in any city
Wanda's non-alcoholic drink of choice is coffee. Ideally, the strongest, blackest cup she can find -- seriously, don't even ask her if she wants cream or sugar in it, because she may stare at you for a couple of seconds like you're crazy. So, she'll find a coffee shop, get her cup of coffee, and find a seat at an available table. Whether you're a familiar face to her, or just someone who can't find another free seat and wants a place to sit, go ahead and interrupt her from her quiet coffee drinking -- she doesn't bite most people, really.
03 | wildcard option!
(if neither of the above work for you, set something up and I'll roll with it!)

01 - Flying around De Chima? [Let me know if you need any edits!!]
Locking the brakes on his chair, taking advantage of a bit of shade from a tree, it was the soft murmurings of a few natives, also out to enjoy their lunch break, that drew his attention.
"How is she doing that?"
"I don't know but it's amazing."
"It is. Also kinda of terrifying. I wonder how many of them can fly?"
Of course curiosity got the better of him and Charles leaned forward in his chair, looking upwards and around until he spotted Wanda up in the sky. Watching the swirl of scarlet flow in controlled waves from her hands as she navigated herself, he couldn't help smiling in professor like approval.
Some gifts truly were amazing!
For the moment, as he worked the lid off his tea, he merely watched, reminded a little of Banshee and also Alex.
02 | Maurtia Falls
02: Maurtia Falls
And no one would let a kid have it.
Until now. He'd had to let the barista assume that he was getting it for someone else, but he had it now. And of course all the tables were full. Pausing by Wanda's table he offers up one of his brightest childish smiles.
"Is anyone else sitting here? I'm having a hard time finding a seat."

"No. I haven't seen them in a while." He shrugs as he reclaims his cup. "They're probably still back in America in my world."

Slipping into the offered seat, she sets her drink on the table and says, "I don't think I introduced myself before. I'm Ruby. Nice to officially meet you."
no subject
"Charles, hi, how are you?" Said with a smile and cheerful tone to match. She's obviously having a pretty pleasant day so far.
no subject
"Good afternoon, my dear!" He called out in return, his own tone chipper and he gave her a warm smile. "Were you getting in a bit of practice?"
That question may have a self-evident answer but he's curious all the same.
01 - flying around heropa!
That's about all Rose can coherently say to the sight of a woman flying. Rose knows this is a world of super heroes yet it still amazes her the things that people can actually do. The blond had always wanted to fly (and was admittedly disappointed that wasn't one of her cool new powers) since in her home world it was something someone was born with. And the people that were born with the power of flight were a bunch of arrogant jerks about it. 'Oh, look at us, we're building our home in flying sky palaces because we can fly suck it losers on the ground' is about the gist of what Rose got whenever she talked to the crows.
"That's awesome!" she manages to blurt out as Wanda happens to touch down close to her.

"How's your lunch break treating you so far?" She nods towards his tea.

Mostly because his parents, Conan's parents, were completely fictional. His real parents also happened to be out of the country, but he hadn't really lived with them since he was fourteen. The thought that other people might find this worrying never occurred to him.
"Nice to meet you! I'm Conan Edogawa."

"How have you been?"

"I've been good. Settling in, learning my way around." She shrugs, before clarifying with something of a cringe, "I'm still pretty new."
no subject
"The Avengers Facility?" He asked, an eyebrow arching. "Are you a member of Tony's team, back home?"
Ahhh timelines.
Unfortunately, curiosity distracted him from the inquiry about his tea for the moment.

Thankfully, Wanda doesn't have to worry about Rose being scared of her powers. In fact, it seems like practically the opposite. She's in awe of them. "What else can you do?"

"That is a long time to hold on to anger," he said gently, but a soft and perhaps surprisingly understanding smile touches his lips. "Though I do know someone who has clung to anger for just as long, if not longer."
Oh the irony of that statement, even if the timelines were still different.
"I kept hoping that maybe he'd be able to find peace within himself some day, if he could learn to let the anger go."

"Besides telekinesis? My other abilities are mental-based. Telepathy, other forms of mental manipulation. That last one especially I try to keep to a minimum." Considering the trouble it's caused for her in the past and all. "How about you?" She's assuming the woman has abilities of her own as well.

"Sounds like I'd have a few things in common with your friend or acquaintance." Yeah, that's more irony for this giant pile of irony here. "You think there's always that possibility to find peace?" A genuine question -- though, the way she asks it, it's pretty clear that she thinks there's not always that chance. In Sokovia, she saw too many others in similar situations as her for her to think otherwise.

When he thought about it, it was really frustrating. There were so many things he still needed to get done in his own world, but he was still stuck here.

"Well, I've met some pretty nice people, which is never bad." She gives a cheeky grin and a little wink there. Wanda most certainly counts. "Oh, and I found this really great hiking trail just outside of town. The view is gorgeous."
There's a moment of hesitation, and a slightly nervous edge now to her smile as she continues, "And... I guess it's also nice being somewhere I don't have to be afraid of people finding out about the things I can do."
no subject
The mention of mental manipulation is a bit sobering. Rose has been subjected that, unfortunately, so she could understand why Wanda might not use it as much.
"Ah, me? Nothing special, seems like. Strength, speed..." It's feels weird to just mention those, actually, as she'd always had them. Here though it's just another every day thing. "If I have any others, I haven't figured out what yet."

At the mention of fear over powers, her hand almost instinctively goes to the side of her neck, rubbing it a little, like she's making sure that something that was there isn't on there again. "Yeah, a lot of ... not good things can happen when people get afraid of people with abilities." Spoken like someone who knows firsthand. "What are yours? Mine are mental-based -- telekinesis, telepathy, other forms of mental manipulation." Wanda will share hers, even if Ruby doesn't feel comfortable talking about her own -- which would be understandable if she's experienced that fear from other people.

Ruby watches the motion of Wanda's hand and wonders. She can't say for sure if it means anything, but she knows what it's like to be on a leash, even if her own collar was more magical than physical. It leaves something behind.
"Definitely not those, though that sounds pretty cool," she says, stalling just a little. "Mine are more physical. Speed and strength and heightened senses. That sort of thing. And, um... And I'm sort of part-wolf? I can even turn into one."

It's a bit of a disappointment and relief all in one that she doesn't seem to have any strange, new powers thrown at her. "You have a twin? Are they here?"
