It's more than satisfying just to watch Rincewind run. The box isn't anywhere near them - although Lucifer doesn't put it past the thing to track them down and come bursting through the wall at some moment. It's best, therefore, not to take too long over this. And so he just rocks back and watches for a moment or two, until Rincewind himself turns to face him, cutting right to the chase.
Fear was beautiful. He missed it.
"So what you're saying to me, wizard, is that you're accidentally an idiot. I get it. I mean, you wouldn't be the first accidental idiot who's crossed me. Although if I were to let you go, or not hurt you, you would be the first who didn't meet a sticky end for his mistake."
He took a single step forward, as as he did so, the archangel deliberately raised his wings higher, wider, making himself and his magic look bigger still. He filled up the whole space with it, and the effect was physical too, a shudder that made the air seem thick, trembling, like a bumpy elevator ride...underwater.
"There's all sorts of horrible things I could do to you, of course. Wonderful things that I haven't done to a single living soul for far too long. But you're fortunate that you're much more useful to be squirrely and submissive. I need a spy, Rincewind, and you--you would make the most unlikely secret agent."
