Oh. Yeah, sorry, it's totally random. But I wouldn't really call it a service period... most of us just try and live as normally as we can around here, y'know? There's no conscription, so a lot of us try and just work and go to school.

[It's not always possible - something that Betty will be able to see if she checks out the news - but for the most part, most of them try to lead normal lives. And, in the end, the troubles they face are for being imPorts, not for being roped into being the government's dogs.

But I wouldn't worry about being here for as long as me. Most people don't last that long before being ported out again.
