[It was far from her idea to go, but suffice to say when Enid returns to Heropa (read: from her canon update) the movement of the crowd leaves her no easier choice than to follow it to the afternoon events of FanPort. Which she finds out is maybe, maybe just a little more fun than expected, despite her aversion to large festivities she feels can be attacked by anyone at any time, among other things.
She stays to the less crowded areas as a result, and can be found exploring a number of areas a little before light falls making a lot the crowd dissipates and she can home.
( A ) - Artist's Alley The one thing that can make Enid forget she is a survivor for a minute is her weakness for jewellery and other fashionable things that she considers have charm. So when she happens to come that area of the Artist's Alley, not only does the selection catch her eye but it causes her to stop and browse. At the keychains, bracelets, and necklaces especially.
She probably could be said to have a bit of a small problem because it's hard for her to resist purchasing or accepting one or two things (despite her uncertainty to the gesture of gifts) and harder to resist looking all the booths that draw her attention. That said, for a least awhile she'll be around shopping and occasionally bumping into people and apologizing. Her lingering presence in the area may make her look like the perfect person to ask where things are, too.
( B ) - First Mistake, Last Mistake It's hard not to overhear girls around her age talk about Carl Grimes when the pass by pretty much screaming about him, and for one that makes Enid almost stare at them in disbelief but for the most part reminds her she should seek him out since he was around. Her first clue is the Adopt An Animal panel the girls mentioned they were headed so against her better judgement, she decides to follow them that way.
And as it so happens, that quickly turns into a big mistake.
Story short: from behind all cosplayers with the hat Carl is most recognizable in would look like him, and she makes the mistake of calling that person "Carl" so they'd turn and she'd have their attention. It's too late then. She can't understand it at first, but whatever the reason is the guy smiles as brightly as he does stupidly at her mistake. "Whoa... Guys! I must be the best Carl. Enid mistook me for him," he declares, which just makes her stare uncomfortably after the surprise fades from her face.
For what must be an entire hall radius, everyone seems to turn to look at the scene. Then of all things, the cosplayer hugs her.
Horrified by this, Enid makes a quick decision to push him off and flee before he can do or say more. She doesn't stick around for the clamour the crowd gets in, walking away as fast as she can. If she bumps into someone as a result, she'll stop and apologize though.
(She'll just have to find the real Carl later.)
( C ) - The Cat at the Con Call it ironic after trying to make her way to the Adopt An Animal panel, but somehow at some point during the entire event Enid finds a stray cat following her. Where it comes from or why it has taken to following just her and somewhat avoiding other people that try to pet it in the process isn't something she understands, but it is what is it.
At first she tries shushing it away, but when that doesn't work she gives in and lets it do what it wants. She'll take it later to try pawning it on the animal shelter, she thinks. But over the course of the afternoon she warms up to it. Find her feeding it a little of the sandwich she buys, comment on how the cat is following her around, whatever.
( D ) - Make your own adventure Fanport is a crowded place, so there's plenty of ways to bump into Enid if none of the sceneries above work. PM me if you want something and are not sure.]
