A - Any city ;during the day
[ Life has to go on despite everything that has happened and the people that disappeared. It’s not like Kaneki has much of a choice, since this world seems to be running fast and furious, and they don’t even allow someone to stop it. He is technically dead, and considers this time here a way to enjoy the last moments, but these last moments are beginning to be too long.
But life goes on. So does Kaneki.
And when he is finally in the mood, he heads to the supermarket and buys several different food items; flour, sugar, chocolate, eggs, among other things that are used to make cakes and cookies. And once he has paid and the bags are full, he goes outside, having every intention of heading home. But someone bumps into his bag, and that’s when kaneki lets it slip from his fingers and…
Well, now there are broken eggs everywhere. And he actually groans out of frustration. Oh come on.
The person – it could be you or a native – will quickly be addressed with an apologetic smile, because he didn’t mean to groan so loud ] Ah- sorry, no it’s fine, please don’t worry. I should have looked where I was going. [ Kaneki smiles and shakes his head, as if nothing is wrong, and he will just grab the broken egg shells and try to find a trashcan ]
B - Any city ; during the night
[ he doesn’t usually walk around when it’s night; he has no interests in parties and bars and drinks – not only he is too shy, too awkward, but he also can’t drink anything besides water or coffee. So if kaneki leaves to walk around the city at night, it’s because he wants to relax, not think about anything. It’s difficult, sure. But he manages.
Especially when he passes by a bar – is that a strip bar? No, it can’t be, he isn’t at the adult district of the city, is he? Could it be he didn’t realize where he was going? – and a girl who spots his glowing tattoo suddenly grabs his arm and leans so close to him. She invites him in, asks him to grab a drink, buy her one, and maybe more – wow, is he really being picked up by a girl? – and all Kaneki can do is to feel like the virginiest virgin who ever virgined. With his face completely red up to his ears, he tries to pull away and he can barely speak right ]
I don- no, I just- I’m- [ he is stuttering that’s what he is doing. And still trying to get away. And so maybe he bumps into you and by the time that happens, he looks like a lost puppy who is being lured into a den of wolves. Please help. ]
C - Heropa ; Lucky cat café
[ besides coffee expert, Kaneki also knows latte art, which apparently a lot of people enjoy. He has to admit, it’s sort of fun to make it, and each day he manages better and more detailed forms. But his talent doesn’t stop there; he has been trying 3D latte art, too.
You will find him sitting at the counter, with a serious expression while there is a cup of coffee in front of him. Nearby, he also has milk foam which he is using to create a small sculpture with the help of a toothpick. It looks sort of like an octopus. Sort of. A bit shaky and weird, but hey, the shape is there. He probably needs a bit more training.

D – College / nearby the campus / library
[ sure he was kidnapped and a lot of things happened, but Kaneki has issues and one of them is that he can’t relax. So he is set on going back to his routine and keep himself busy; the best way to do that is certainly to go back to college, which by now he has a feeling he won’t ever leave the freshman year because so much is always happening and he doesn’t really study and he only goes to the literature classes to occupy his time and hear someone talking about the books he used to love.
Kaneki can be found in class, over the last row of chairs and closest to the door, so nobody will notice as he just listens and almost seems to sleep at the sound of the professor talking away about the theme for the class.
If he isn’t there, he can be found walking around the campus heading to the library while he holds a cup of coffee in his hand. As he passes by a trashcan, he glances at the cup in his hand and then finally decides to drop it inside the can with a small disgusted frown on his face. Really, the campus coffee is so crappy, how do students even survive with that?
And once he reaches the library, he will grab many books from many different authors, all novels and classical literature. He is trying to read them, he is trying to enjoy them, but kaneki has a hard time finding what interests him. So after he has read the first page, he closes the book and moves on to the next one, only to do the same. The librarian seems to be a bit offended at how he continues to put aside really great books. ]
