Peckish. The word seems to tug Toby's lips into a small smile. It's how he'd explained away not needing Claire anymore when he'd first brought Dorian to his flat, wasn't it? And here they are now, Dorian so very eager to please Toby, so very happy to have him back that he can't help feeling the guilt building up in his chest.

He manages to somehow school his expression as he feels his chest tighten, and that seems to make it more difficult to swallow his anxiety.
