It's not a desire Ken shares, and it's not one he's ever been exposed to either. At a glance, Akihiko had seemed that way, but Ken knew better now. They all knew him better now. They're completely different, and that's why Ken chose Hidoka instead of his teammate. Akihiko would be concerned. He would mostly leave him to his own business, but he would be concerned. Hisoka didnt care. Whether Ken was suffering from some I bet nightmare or simply power hungry, it didn't matter as long as he could see it. Even if Ken lost his arm in the process... nol, that would probably excite him more.

It's nice and simple. Ken doesn't feel the need to depend on him anymore, but he appreciates the simplicity of their relationship.
