JAIME REYES
[ a ; learning to drive ]
[Shepard's been teaching Jaime how to drive. Which has been, in all honesty, probably less of a disaster than Kaidan expected it to be, but that doesn't mean that Jaime doesn't want to practice on his own too. When his bosses at the garage caught wind that their junior mechanic was finally going to get a ride of his own, they shoved a bike his way that was just going to be going to the junkyard anyway. For practice, they said. Not on the highways, but on the side streets.
Well, here he is on one of the side streets, helmet strewn on the ground as he frowns down at the completely busted bike in front of him.]
Aw, c'mon, you hunk of junk, [he groans, looking as if he wants to kick the darn thing.] Right in the middle of the road?
[He could probably use a hand. Or a tool kit.]
[ b ; the arcade ]
[Jaime had made a good few friends at Heropa's high school, back when he was attending, and even if he stands out because he's an imPort, he still hangs out with the native kids his age on occasion. Usually they meet up at the arcade, which is where he is now, only this time, he's waving good bye to them.]
See you later! I'm gonna see if I can beat this dumb thing.
[He cannot, actually, beat it. Jaime's worse at video games than he'd like to admit, considering he can literally grow guns out of his hands, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. As he turns back to his game (a shooter, with cringe-worthy dialogue and a hefty plastic gun attached to the machine), he watches his character die again with a sigh.]
Okay. One more time.
[There's a Player 2 spot, if you care to join him.]
BLUE BEETLE
[ c ; car crash ]
[Contrary to popular belief, most of what Jaime does as the Blue Beetle doesn't actually consist of punching people in the face, nor does it have much to do with serious investigations into horrible crimes. No, a lot of what he does has to do with the fact that sometimes, accidents happen. And when accidents happen, whether it's a house fire, a car crash, or something as seemingly ordinary as a wind storm toppling over one too many trees, having superstrength and flight on your side really, really help.
A car crash is what he's attending to today. He can't be sure exactly what had happened - could have been a drunk driver, or a new driver, or maybe some poor soul distracted by the screaming baby in the backseat, or someone texting while they drove - but what he does know is the result. One car rammed straight into another on the bridge, sending it teetering precariously off the edge, with another car spiraling off into a pole, a mess of crushed metal trapping the family inside.
Jaime, fully suited up, goes after the car hanging off the edge, gripping onto the front to make sure that they don't just topple in. While he could feasibly pick up the car, it would take more maneuvering than they've got time for, so he shouts up to the people above,] Hey! Someone get them out of the backseat!
[ d ; patrol ]
[Or, of course, you could run into the Blue Beetle on his nightly patrols. He doesn't exactly bother concealing his appearance, a glowing blue beacon against the sky as he leisurely sails across, keeping an eye out for anyone who needs help below. Maybe you're the one who needs help, or you need directions, or maybe you just happen to be out for a lovely night's flight too. Whatever the case, Jaime's always quick with a smile and a greeting.]
