[Thanks to Charlie being a miracle-worker (and help from Riku), Kaneda had healed most of the worst of his injuries. His back, while still sore, wasn't strained, his wrists weren't sprained, his rib wasn't bruised. His arm wasn't practically dislocated, and glass cuts were merely scars on their way to healing. All the immediate care was taken care of, leaving Kaneda on the couch to recover.
That is to say, he wasn't colourfully decorated. His shirt was taken off, showing bruising all over his body, mostly concentrated on the left side from mid rib traveling all the way up his neck and just under his eye. His arms had burns unlike anything seen, as if they were caused by radiation without the gross side effects. A bad sunburn that peeled skin. Fresh blood had dried on his lips, now cracked with it, and there was a bandage around his head. Ice was applied to his side, hissing a little as he fidgeted.
This was fun.
What was even less fun was being the only one in the house. Ken was gone, and Tetsuo missing in action. Being the only kid to return after that...
