and each and every highway

WHO: Clark (Superman), Fraser (SuperMountie), Ray (McQueen), and Dief (the Prime Minister)
WHERE: Benton & Fraser's place
WHEN: Some evening on some day
WHAT: Dinner Party!

[ Their office front was closed for the day, dark and completely locked up in comparison to the light pouring from the windows of their connected apartment. It was the edge of the evening and while this normally would've been the time where they fussed with daily groceries and made the dinner thing work with well coordinated effort, Clark was on his way and he'd offered to cook. Something that still seemed to baffle Fraser, much to Ray's amusement. But that just meant there was other things to be done.

Things like sitting around waiting. And 'cleaning'.

Ray had plopped on top of one of the countertops in the kitchen to sit, at least for a brief few seconds before he was shooed away by Fraser with the demand that he not let his butt linger where there would soon be cooking. It was only kind to their guest after all. Though, if Ray had a say in it, their newly acquired fridge was something a little kinder. But Ray hadn't minded too terribly much either way, considering his nose was stuffed into a manual he'd only picked up a day ago. The hover cars were starting to gather his interest for a number of reasons and he'd absorbed himself in trying to see if he could even begin to understand how they worked.

Crammed into the corner of the sofa instead, between the arm rest and the backing, his legs were stretched out in front of him, feet crossed at the ankles. One of them was jiggling rhythmically while he held his half finished bottle of beer by the neck, resting it on the arm of the couch. All the movement went utterly unnoticed by Ray himself, concentrating on gear shafts and pistons and magnetism--

Which was right around when Dief, who was lying at the other end of the couch on the floor, his nose pointed towards the door, suddenly stood up at attention.

Right, yeah, okay... I got it. [ Nope, he hadn't even looked up yet. ] Fraser, why couldn't we have given Dief some kinda 'Welcome to our Humble Abode' sign? Let him open the door since Clark's here for the doggy meet and greet.

[ He was getting up. He was! He really was!! ]
