He clasps his hands together in his lap, twiddling his fingers. He takes a breath. "He died in the end, but it wasn't because I killed him. Someone else showed up, someone who was our enemy, and when the guy tried to kill me he took the shot and died, protecting me.

"He... I got to live with him for a couple months, you know? Before it all happened. And the more I think about it now, the more I look back on it, he was always a good person. Rude and he complained a lot, but a good person. I wish I saw it sooner."
