As the zombie is sent stumbling towards her, she tucks her staff back under one arm, held at the ready should she actually need to lash out with it, but most of her focus goes to the bits of flame beginning to spark around her. The magic is brought to bear, forced into a more concentrated shape, in her hand and then she lets it loose at the headless corpse.
It lights up far better than the torch that's been lost. Admittedly, the torch didn't flail like that, but you win some, you lose some. ]
