Kite doesn't return the smile, expression graver now than usual. There were only two boys that came to mind with that, and he's sure it wasn't a coincidence. As his eyes scrutinize the other man, he wonders if he should recognize him. The name Hisoka, when he finally notices it, sounds familiar.
"You mean Gon and Killua." Kite already knew the answer, it wasn't a question. "I don't know about them, but I don't remember a place like this."
Of course it's entirely possible he had been here and just forgot, but to agree to that would be to admit to missing an apparently huge and important chunk of memory. Kite will accept that fact if he has to, but right now all he has is this man's word--that's a little flimsier than he'd like. "You make it sound like we've met before."
