She exchanged a glance with him as he chuckled and shifted his stance. She was just a little rabbit by comparison to this mountain of a teenager! But she smiled none the less. His cheer was contagious!
Things really did feel right on that beach. Their own little care-free world for the night. Illuminated faces around the flickering fire, laughing, chatting, being kids. It all felt so normal. Granted Usagi really hadn't dealt with any of the darker parts of this world yet, but it has still be a stressful settling-in. Thus far, she's been lucky enough to live relatively averagely for a month. But even so… this little bonfire get away felt like something she didn't know she needed!
She looked up to Josuke at his long list of "not a whole lot," eyebrows raised in surprise.
"So… you're the type that likes to keep busy or… hectic not by choice?" it took a beat more, but then his list settled in her ears and her eyes widened. "Oh! Mardi Gras! I can still help you out if you need it!"
There was something about her classmate that brightened her mood. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, other than it must just be his disposition.
"I haven't been as productive. It's been school and work mostly. But any chance I get I'll go to the arcade and comic shop!"
[We can switch to less prose if that would be easier! I was just going off of how the opening post was set up!]
