The warmth returned just a little to his expression, only because this was a slightly fonder set of memories, if painful.

"No, I discovered them when I was very little. I grew up at the lighthouse my father cared for, so I was always near water. It was just sort of inevitable that we'd realize that I was like my mother." He shrugged a little and then went back to eating some more of his breakfast quietly. Things were happier then, but that was also the start of all the testing with Dr. Shin and the chain of events that would result in his father's heart attack.

"It's not exactly a pleasant place, Atlantis. My mother left because she wanted to see the outside world." He hoped there would be no Little Mermaid remarks coming, though Edgeworth didn't seem the type. Arthur was a bit more at ease around this man - he seemed respectable enough. To someone trained to be a king, it was an admirable quality.
