While reluctant at first, Fabian soon followed Annie's pushing toward and through the doors that led to the school's swimming area. Not a bad plan, overall, and better than his had been, he realized belatedly. Had it been Lunatic that he'd caught in the gym, he'd likely be dead about now. But near water...well, he'd be safe, right?
"What now? Do we dive in?" he asked in a hurry. He heard someone else coming, shouting Annie's name. If Annie hadn't brought Lunatic straight to them, whoever was coming had probably done just that!
Which was not a terrible deduction. Lunatic observed from far down the school's hall as Kay stole into the gym, the doors closing behind her. So, his target and Annie had escaped that way, had they? Then, he would follow.
Surrounded by his fire, he seemed to pass through the gym doors leaving them unharmed. Kay herself could be seen exiting through another set of doors on the far side of the gymnasium, upon which hung a sign that read in clear, bold print: SWIMMING POOL. Mere seconds after the girl had disappeared behind the door, Lunatic had launched a fireball towards it, blasting it straight off its hinges.
endless apologies for slowness, but I'm feeling better now and ready to tag!
