Truthfully, Yuri didn't know why Dorian bothered being resistant. They were not fighting a battle on his turf, after all, but upon Yuri's. Dorian didn't stand a chance at winning.

However, as the other man started at last toward the door, Yuri felt a curious mix of apprehension and relief. He was glad to have this encounter cut short, hadn't needed to fall back on the little tricks he'd thought of all those weeks ago when they'd met in the park but hadn't actually prepared, and yet...there was still the possibility that he might not get another chance to find out the truth about Dorian. Was he just a troubled young man with a sharp tongue, or was he something more sinister? If the latter was true, then how many lives might be negatively affected because of Yuri's temperamental behavior towards Dorian today?

He'd have to hope for the best, he supposed...

"I don't know how many times I have to tell you," Yuri said to Dorian's retreating back. "We're nothing alike. You won't find in me a kindred spirit. If that's what you're looking for, I would suggest you don't come back. You will only be disappointed."
