He looks over at Wen Ning in surprise. Even if he had managed to bring back Wen Ning's consciousness, he never intended for him to become any sort of guinea pig for further experiments.

"I'm not going to do that. I don't want to take any unnecessary risks with your energy. I need to be able to work with my own..try and build back some sort of core."

It still hurts to talk about his core. But everyone knows the truth now so he doesn't really hide the fact that it is gone any more. If he can find a way to help his own to grow then that will go far in being able to help him become stronger.
