Everybody was kung-fu fighting
WHO: Commander Shepard & Mrs S. + open to anybody who wants to drop in for a chat before/after
WHERE: A gym, Heropa
WHEN: early June
WHAT: Shepard is looking for a way to contribute to the community and Mrs. S has an idea!
WARNINGS: None!
It had started out like any other interaction Shepard has had with Mrs. S. - a friendly check-in, some pleasant conversation and updates on what they'd been up to respectively. The idea of self-defense classes had grown from Shepard's inherent need to contribute in some way to the community at large. Self-defense, Shepard had reasoned, is better to know and never need to use rather than the alternative.
With the connections Mrs S. has, maybe that wasn't going to be as difficult to organize as he'd first thought. Her work with H.O.P.E. was inspiring, spoke of the kind of person that she is, and Shepard had been more than happy to agree to provide her with a demonstration of the kinds of self-defense he can teach.
It's why, on a bright, sun-kissed morning in Heropa, he's setting up what he needs in a privately rented gym space. With sunlight streaming through the windows, he's opted for sweatpants and a basic, navy blue tee that allows him to move like he needs to. He's tugging a large crash mat across the varnished, springy floor as he hears the door in the corner of the room open and close again, and he glances over his shoulder with a welcoming smile.
