WHEN: Now
WHAT: Dreaming buildings, building with dreams
WARNINGS: These two are NSFW by default really

True darkness is a rarity, on this planet or any other. But Kylo wakes to find himself surrounded by it— a darkness so complete he can't even see his hand move when he lifts and waves it in front of his face. Not that Kylo Ren needs to rely on his sight, of course. His awareness is as limited as he chooses it to be— and he has all the light he needs to see by lying right here with him.

He lets out a quiet huff of amusement and rolls onto his side to admire the view.

Months ago now, when Ronan had invited him to imagine a celebration of their first year spent together, this had been Kylo's answer. He would steal Ronan away from everything else— everything else. He'd take him somewhere quiet, remote and beautiful in its stark desolation, and in that place where they would be free of all outside influence or expectation, they would discover themselves— their new selves. The self they become when woven together.

And they had: they'd made a start not too far from here. Kylo can still remember the precise shape of Ronan's face and the twist in his heart as they lay together in the dark under a vast night sky, waiting to see if the interplay of atmosphere and solar wind would oblige them with the kind of light show Ronan had only seen in pictures.

Not that it's dark outside now, Kylo notes wryly. Come to think of it, he quite distinctly remembers Ronan suggesting Alaska as a place where the sun barely rises— which, while true in the winter time, has become less and less so with every trip they take to dream a little more of their private sanctuary into the cliffside. Perhaps that's what this room is meant to be: somewhere they can always find enough darkness to sleep in, even in the height of summer.

Kylo reaches out for Ronan's hand, sliding his fingers through the matching gaps until his palm rests warm and solid across Ronan's knuckles. His thumb drifts in a lazily contented caress.

"Perfect," he murmurs, though he's relatively certain that with all the expense of their dreaming, Ronan won't be able to respond yet. Perhaps, he can't even hear.
