Alexander is in Heropa on a mission—well... not really a serious mission, but just sort of vaguely checking out the other porter cities with a view to relocating, not really liking Jeopardy all that much, which is where the government dumped him when he'd arrived. Ultimately, he'd prefer London or Los Angeles, but as they're not an option, he's skeptically looking around for a third choice. At least the palm trees and the warmth here remind him of LA?

Although it's a bit too warm, which is why his coat is currently on the bench beside him where he's sitting taking a break, when he hears a familiar voice shouting and glances up to see Jane chasing a rodent? Entertaining though that may be, he's in a position to help, so subsequently, as soon as the animal comes close enough, he throws his coat over it... which won't detain it for long, but at least slows it down for a moment.
